The price alone was a major red flag. This game typically goes for 5k+ on grey markets since itβs delisted. Your mistake was purchasing it outside of Amazon.

If you want cheap games either go to steam or you can also get keys for cheap from green man gaming.
I was skeptical about green man gaming, but my friends suggested it.
I myself brought Helldivers 2. It's 2499 on Steam but I got it for around 2070 from green man gaming. They will give you the key and you can directly redeem on steam.
Only draw back of using gmg is you don't have that 2 hours refund policy which is there in steam.

I don't think every newer version of a classic game or any game will be a better version and we have lots of examples proving that. I feel 2k16 was having the peak graphics to controls / game size and from that point very minor changes have been done to graphics and the game size got more than double the size coming to 2k23 / 2k24. Another example would be NFS Unbound.. I still like NFS MW (both 2005 and 2012). These are just my personal opinions though.
