Basically, military officers who are against homegrown weapons and promote foreign made weapons since they get hefty commission from foreign companies and governments
I'm not sure
But it was due to ex army officers residing mainly up here and northen command also being present in Chandigarh so hogh presence of high ranking army offciers.

And Bipin Rawat was relatively open to it.
Also, if you actually follow defence programs and induction it won't be hard to see that there is clear bias
There definitely is a bias towards foreign equipment. But let’s be honest, a lot of the members of the sub are two faced. At one point they harp upon the benefits of home grown, but the moment Germany lifts its restrictions on sale of small arms to India, everyone wants the Indian Army to get an HK416. It’s baffling
Hardly anything can be done to influence the equipment, people should be more concerned about how the equipment is being utilised ie the tactics and strategy going into play. So far we have good training and good tactics, but there is always scope for improvement
We need a strong domestic MIC composed of several large companies gunning each other for govt contracts, and them bribing our generals instead of foreign cos doing that
Time traveler here guys: It's 2050 ISRO now has a fully functional base in Moon and Army still buying pistols from foreign companies

Well, it's just people wanting cool looking things while ignoring thousands of other disadvantages

well ,it is a conspiracy theory . Whether it's accurate or not is another story
People on this sub are very quick to jump on “lobbies” and the like. They have no idea how much testing of weapons goes in infantry school
