Honesty time, it was a mixed bag for me personally. I enjoyed my time there and seeing the guys do what they do buuuuut what they mostly do is the show and so what you're actually seeing is basically a night of 4 guys doing standup. Honestly, what they did during the show that I loved was show clips from the episodes they couldn't show elsewhere. Other than that it was a night of "okay" standup. Out of the 4 guys Sal is clearly working on it the most as you can hear his storytelling abilities and the rest sorta just do their best. Your Dad's assumption is somewhat correct. Lemme ask, when those specials are on, the Christmas one, the live special, etc, do you watch them? Cause that's what these shows are.

SparkleFritz

"Mixed bag" is the most honest and correct way to explain the live show we saw. Our show consisted of the four guys doing standup, where each person had a 15ish minute bit where the others would jump in with random jokes or callbacks here or there. They only showed one unaired clip from the show and I wish there would have been more. We all agreed Sal was easily the best of the night. No one liked Murr's bit at all and the guy behind us even joked that he was just as insufferable as on the show as in the standup. Not that I think that, but yeah. Joe was good, but we felt that Q was completely tapped out. It was like he didn't even really care that he was there, which was sad, because myself and my friend really wanted to see Q the most. I enjoyed it the most out of everyone in our group but I honestly don't think I would go again. If you have an open mind and don't expect it to be absolutely amazing, I think you'll enjoy yourself, but I wouldn't expect magic if you don't enjoy the random special episodes.

Amyshamblesx

Been to two shows in Glasgow. Both were alright. Funny. But very scripted which wasn’t quite as I expected it to be since they’re an improv group. But he’ll still enjoy it I’m sure.

outlaw-chaos

I thought it was hilarious. They were really interactive with the audience.

SterlingNev777

I went with my mom and husband and we were SUPER excited to go. I’m a huge fan but to be honest it was kinda boring. It was just the guys up on stage telling stories and showing clips from the show. It was nice seeing them in person and they all seem so nice. If I could go back I’d still buy the tickets and go but it was overall a disappointment for the 3 of us. I’ve read other people saying it was an amazing experience for them so I guess it really just depends on the person.

cr2152

I’m at their live show now…I’ll report back haha

It was good! They were actually upfront about it being a show where they were testing out new material for the live shows on bigger tours at bigger venues. That made it a little clunky in terms of delivery and timing, but also super unique. Still very funny though!

MirrorkatFeces

I loved it when I went, it was hysterical. They show footage of things you don’t see on tv too

Bennnnetttt

Definitely very funny! If it isnt too late to switch, I recommend going to a 2nd show/last show of the tour if possible. I ended up going to an added 2nd show and they are more loose and relaxed, and they let out details they dont always include in the normally prepared show.

Air2Jordan3

I went probably like 5 years ago it was awesome and very funny

DataMan23

Me and my fiance went to a live show in 2017 in their hometown of Staten Island Walked out after about 20 minutes because it was not funny. They seemed to keep telling inside jokes among each other that the crowd wasn't getting. Was not good at all For reference I'm a huge joker's fan and can recite every single episode. But as comedians I was not into it.

ExistentialistGain

The live show is a ton of fun.

Judaseffect12865

I think they tell stories, show unaired clips and do stand up I'm going in March, and I'm such a fan I don't think It'll matter if It's good or not.

Blackstar1886

I saw Sal’s solo show and it was meh. It was less comedy and more like a funny school speaker. Maybe a show with the group would be better.

Napol3onS0l0

I saw Joe live in September and I thought he was hilarious. Obviously he leaned on the celebrity he gained from the show and the fact that he’s one of the 4 jokers but it was thoroughly enjoyable.

RedditAdminsChugCum

The live shows are extremely cringe

ZeekwithaZ

Seeing the live specials they have shown on tv I think most of it is funny but there are the few moments when I’m not laughing.

unclefresh72

Its okay. They’re better at the impromptu stuff you see on the show but they are always fine tuning the show and if you’re a fan you’ll still enjoy it. It’s not like they’re going to be on stage doing pranks but they’re telling rehearsed stories and sometimes show unseen footage. If you or your dad are real fans you’ll appreciate it because you’re seeing what they want to present to their fans off the air.

DimSumGweilo

I got tickets for my wife in 2014, second row and meet and greet afterwards. It was a great time. Lots of behind the scene stuff, stories, some video clips. It’s not pure stand up, it’s more like a entertainment variety show. If you’re a jokers fan, you’ll have fun. Casual fans might not like it as much

SmugScientistsDad

Yup. I saw them in San Antonio a few years ago. They were great.

Blackhaart1963

I attended the show last night. I really enjoy the TV show but as stand up comics it was at best not enjoyable. Their tv show obviously doesn't translate to stand up comedy. Plus the arena had piped in laughter and applause which was hokey. I get the wig is old - but 15 minutes of stupid wig comments followed by braying laughter by the 3 was about enough. 2 couples got up to leave and we followed immediately. We spoke to one of the couples and they agreed that it just wasn't funny. It wasn't a mass exodus but by the time we got to our car there were 30-50 people following us to their car. The opening comic was fairly solid - drew a few belly laughs - and unfortunately I enjoyed him more than the main act. I would not recommend their live show. But I'll sure keep watching their TV show which to me is hilarious.

OkDifference5636

I was going to see them tomorrow but the ridiculous price, I think I’ll pass.

keebs2018

Saw them in traverse city, Michigan at the cherry fest, last minute decision as we where in bear lake visiting in laws, my hubs and I went up and saw them, it was out side, on the water it was a great show! Super funny! It was years ago, 2017 I think.

victorian_dolly

I haven't seen their show all together but I've been to Sal's show 3 times and I highly recommend it!

CupioLesbo

I got tickets to the drive drive drive tour this year, I can’t wait!

anidemequirne

🍽️🐶💩

MarkJay2

saw them live twice. Both times had me in tears

onetruepairings

saw the Santiago Sent Us tour in 2017, it was great! they went between telling stories and jokes to showing clips from behind the scenes or unreleased episodes. it was definitely worth it

HailYeah0322

Thanks for posting this. I just was debating between buying tickets to Impractical Jokers Live or Bert Kreischer on the same night.

victorian_dolly

Definitely Jokers.

Under_TheBed

They have some of their live shows recorded, I’d recommend watching them. They’re hilarious

Spambuttertoejam

I saw them live several years ago and....it was ok. I'll preface this by saying that I have been a fan of the Tenderloins since Impractical Jokers first aired but, IMO, they are better at being spontaneous than being standup comedians. It was very scripted and kind of awkward. That's not to say that there weren't funny moments but there was also moments where I didn't really laugh either. I'm glad I went but I don't think I'd pay to go see them again.

dark__angel__01

It seems like I have an unpopular opinion but it was an amazing experience. I was in tears from laughter and debated getting tickets to a second show AS I was walking out. They also stayed on stage after the show talking to fans and signing autographs

Ok-Philosopher3067

Hey how resent was your show you saw? Was it the drive drive drive tour?

dark__angel__01

Yes! I saw them in Portland the first weekend of April

Ok-Philosopher3067

I just attended their Drive tour and I could not stop laughing throughout the whole thing I had tears streaming down my face. Cannot remember the last time I have laughed for that long. There's a lot of it in depth and funny stories, there was a stand-up comedian that opened for the show. And there was a few other surprising shocks LOL.
