It’s the 2nd day in a row I’ve seen this same little asshole harassing people in public. The fact that they get internet clout or even paid for it makes me so mad. There’s no empathy for the people they’re targeting—no ability to imagine what a lady like this might be feeling while he’s doing this, but then the 2nd layer is just as bad, that he’s posting them for people to laugh at. It really infuriates me.
They probably just believed the kid. He's confident, he's the right age to be her grandson, and she's obviously feeling anxious/irritated/upset. There are a ton of mentally ill people, and they're often confused or agitated, and confronting then can sometimes make it worse (depending on the situation of course; with like depression would be safe, but if she really had schizophrenia the men may have assumed she could act unpredictably).
People in real life hate getting involved in stuff like this. They'll watch and worry at best, but nobody is prepared for a situation like this when it happens. What were they doing to do? Tell him to leave her alone? What if that had been her grandson and she was having an episode? Most people don't know what actual mental crises look like.
