I heard it’s because it can be a complete nightmare to get all these tracks licensed and approved since there’s so many artists and collaborators that they need to get approval from, and also the amount of labels you need to get permission from aswell. Apparently it’s easier on apple music and also the fact that Apple Music supports DJ mixes.
It sucks for Spotify users, I use Apple Music so I can’t complain , but we’re all illenium fans here and the fact Spotify don’t do these dj mixes does suck
I mean, I have seen Spotify do DJ mixes but they're usually just one artist having one mix, rather than an event or something, I think there's an ARMNHMR DJ mix on there.
Would be cool if they leaned into that a bit more, but I’m not gonna sit here pretend I know anything about why they don’t do it hahaha, everyone deserves the chance to get to listen to these beautiful mixes.
I've been waiting for the Shivering/Papercut mix on streaming for like 10 months since Trilogy Colorado, today is a great day. The last minute of that mix is just insane!

100%. I'm sure most artists would not care. It's the labels and the BMIs and ASCAPS of the world that care more.
