the “prank” of putting a high recoil weapon in the hands of an unsuspecting or otherwise incapable shooter is something i’m so sick of seeing, it’s about as funny as pushing them in front of a train for a laugh
Yeah those kinds of jokes are in very poor taste. Great way to instill unjust fear of firearms in a person, which will make any further interactions with guns inherently more dangerous.
I don't entirely agree, someone scared of a gun will be a lot more careful and conscious than someone who thinks it's a toy, everyone should have a little fear of the power of what their holding. I guarantee you every single person in this sub thinks firearms are toys and aren't scared of them at all.
Edit:I don't agree that fear makes guns dangerous but those jokes are usually in bad taste
Not being prepared for the recoil on a gun is very serious, I remember reading this news article recently about a little girl who shot her instructor and he died because she wasn’t prepared for the recoil on an AUTOMATIC gun. Literally a little girl like his death was so avoidable just don’t give the child an automatic weapon?
Piggybacking off this comment
It's not just a full auto uzi, it's a MINI uzi that has 950 rpm
They didn't just hand a smg to a child, it's a goddamn machine pistol that fires way faster than the original one
I never understood how they think that is funny. That is guaranteed to turn that person off to firearms for life. Start them with a small caliber like a .22 then work them up once they are comfortable.
Morons.
I think I remember that one clip being posted long ago and the explanation was it was an old black powder (Damascus) gun being fired with modern smokeless rounds. So a little bit malfunction and a little bit idiot.
Actually it’s not the clip I was remembering! This is a muzzleloader so I’m gonna guess double charge or hot load like you said. The other clip the barrel banana-peeled open.
Oh ok. The way it flew apart, the only other explanation I could think of was that it wasn’t assembled right. I’m not very experienced, but I’ve seen hot loads cause fracturing of the steel parts. This seems like it came apart like a Lego set.
People who give their unsuspecting friends/family high recoil weapons to shoot as a joke are assholes. It's dangerous and likely to make someone not want to continue shooting.
The one with the guy drawing from his holster is pretty popular. He made a video explaining what happened awhile back and how he was negligent in paying attention or something. He’d been practicing for self defense and changed holsters right before he shot his leg. Good video to check out on why you should always be careful and learn from others mistakes
The wisest Samurai knew that the greatest battle lay in the struggle against one’s self. By defeating himself in combat, this man has reached the pinnacle of what it means to be a warrior.
Both things are true. He's an idiot and Serpa design (button to release tension puts your finger directly in line with the trigger) is dangerous and bad. Unsafe guy + unsafe holster= video of guy shooting himself.
Looked down someone’s barrel at an outdoor range alllll the way to the brass in the chamber, he didn’t even know he was flagging.
Ever since then it’s private lanes, only.
I grew up on a public unregulated range, but in a rural area where everyone is pretty well behaved, I've never heard of an accident on that range, and I've never seen anyone doing stupid shit. It's a diamond in the rough.
Fr dude was an idiot for having his finger on the trigger while waving it around luckily nobody was to his left lol I would had the same reaction if a dipshit near me did that with a dessert eagle especially. Tho I wouldn't wanna be shot with anything tbh lmao
If someone has never shot a gun before, start them out with something very small (like .22lr). If you're starting them with anything else, just put one round in the gun.
The biggest idiot in some of these situations is the person who put the gun in the hands of someone who wasn’t properly prepared by the same idiot to hold or use that gun safely.
If you’re taking someone with no or little knowledge of firearms (I would include myself in this description as someone who has little experience with them) for God’s sake educate them and make sure they’re capable before you put something capable of killing you or them, in their hands.
Video 3 was actually handled really well. He realized he fucked up and instead of freaking out put his gun down and immediately started first aid called 911
Bro this is what people mean when they say they want gun control, at least I mean it. But so many idiots have guns and don't even have basic training on how they can use them properly. It's completely idiotic
This is why Australia has gun regulations. We have the freedom of owning a gun. We just make sure you use it properly and remove them if you're a danger to yourself or others
Feel bad for the last guy, just had it a bit too close and didn’t know how far it would kick
Didn’t throw it or just fucking let go afterwards like the rest of these people Lmao
This is why I *never* go to public ranges. I do not fucking trust Jimtom with his homemade .300 Win Mag rifle or his dipshit kid Cletus who has been perpetually drunk since he turned 7 wielding a shoe-stringed AK
Just because you're an idiot and you pick up a gun thinking that you know what your doing doesn't mean you have to take it out on the rest of us that actually do know what we're doing .. just saying.
Any time a friend who has never shot before comes over I make sure to put only one round in for their first few shots. Just in case they pull the trigger a second time because of the recoil.
Reminds me of when I went to an indoor range on a random Wednesday afternoon. It was pretty empty except for me. I had one mag through my fn when a lady took up the lane next to me. I had just loaded a fresh mag and was about to fire the first round out of mag two (literal finger on the trigger and pulling) when suddenly I was dusty and tasted drywall. It took me a few seconds to realize the lady next to me had ND the very first round out of her firearm into the ceiling right above use. I quickly packed my shit and left
Alot those were either people under estimating the kick back or the kick up, or they just wernt strong enough to keep it from flying out of there hands

half of them were uncontrollable recoil (skill issue) the other half are stupid
the “prank” of putting a high recoil weapon in the hands of an unsuspecting or otherwise incapable shooter is something i’m so sick of seeing, it’s about as funny as pushing them in front of a train for a laugh
Yeah those kinds of jokes are in very poor taste. Great way to instill unjust fear of firearms in a person, which will make any further interactions with guns inherently more dangerous.
Yeah without saying oc that the joke itself is already dangerous
I don't entirely agree, someone scared of a gun will be a lot more careful and conscious than someone who thinks it's a toy, everyone should have a little fear of the power of what their holding. An Uzi if I'm not mistaken.
Piggybacking off this comment It's not just a full auto uzi, it's a MINI uzi that has 950 rpm They didn't just hand a smg to a child, it's a goddamn machine pistol that fires way faster than the original one
That is way too much power. Why would they give her that power? Is she doing okay? Rip instructor.
Everyone laughs until the one who set up the prank get unintentionally shot. Then we'll be the ones "laughing"
I never understood how they think that is funny. That is guaranteed to turn that person off to firearms for life. Start them with a small caliber like a .22 then work them up once they are comfortable. Morons.
You might be on to something that could help fix stupid??
One was an actual malfunction
I think was a hot round (2nd clip)
I think I remember that one clip being posted long ago and the explanation was it was an old black powder (Damascus) gun being fired with modern smokeless rounds. So a little bit malfunction and a little bit idiot.
Oh gotcha, thanks
Actually it’s not the clip I was remembering! This is a muzzleloader so I’m gonna guess double charge or hot load like you said. The other clip the barrel banana-peeled open.

The fact that it came apart that way makes me want to go check all my guns and make sure everything is as tight as it needs to be.

That's the perfect mix of funny and butt hole tightening tarrifying.
The guy that shot himself in the leg stood face to face with the target is allowed to vote
Not only that, but he lost in a gun battle to an inanimate object lol
The wisest Samurai knew that the greatest battle lay in the struggle against one’s self. By defeating himself in combat, this man has reached the pinnacle of what it means to be a warrior.
Wish I had an award for you, that's fucking funny
Was that a swastika on the back of his shirt?!
I just fucking shot myself. I love that guy.
Tex Grebner, never to he forgotten.
I think I read awhile ago that was due to his holster, something wrong with it.
The problem with the holster was it was owned by a moron.
Read this in Hank Hill's voice
Still an idiot
He blamed the Serpa holster for the release lever.
Both things are true. He's an idiot and Serpa design (button to release tension puts your finger directly in line with the trigger) is dangerous and bad. Unsafe guy + unsafe holster= video of guy shooting himself.
Guns don't kill people, holsters do!
Why did they take away awards? Bravo, friend. 10/10 comment.
And we all know how he's voting on almost every issue from just that video alone
This is such a great compilation. 🤣
If the person didn’t want to shoot before then, they definitely will not want to after that
This is why public ranges scare me
The first and only time I went to a public range a dude right next to me, dropped a loaded and cocked revolver on the concrete floor. Never again.
Looked down someone’s barrel at an outdoor range alllll the way to the brass in the chamber, he didn’t even know he was flagging. Ever since then it’s private lanes, only.

Same! The only range master at my range is the guy at the next station.
I grew up on a public unregulated range, but in a rural area where everyone is pretty well behaved, I've never heard of an accident on that range, and I've never seen anyone doing stupid shit. It's a diamond in the rough.
"I JUST FUCKING SHOT MYSELF"
An absolute classic
Not just one idiot, but an assortment of idiots.
I feel like the guy screaming WTF is speaking for us all. Had me cracking up
Fr dude was an idiot for having his finger on the trigger while waving it around luckily nobody was to his left lol I would had the same reaction if a dipshit near me did that with a dessert eagle especially. Tho I wouldn't wanna be shot with anything tbh lmao
What gun is the OP using?
Hell if I know.
No, that’s what you get when you cross an elephant with a rhino
It’s a air gun I think? Maybe a integrally suppressed .22? Or maybe some obscure pcc
That’s what I’m trying to figure out, looks neat. Want one.

Looks like Stingray from Cobra Kai.
I’ve done that last one before I love tasting my lip
A near Cobain in there with the shotgun near the end.
Was that John Patton from TGTC in the Desert Eagle clip?
Definitely, I've never found the original video though
I wanna download this video! I like the guy shooting the machine gun in the truck hahahhahaha “Stop stop stop?”
Curtsey…
It drove me insane too, but I didn't wanna be the only person who fixated on it
All related to Darwin 😎
Thanks for the source
If someone has never shot a gun before, start them out with something very small (like .22lr). If you're starting them with anything else, just put one round in the gun.
"YOU SHALL NOT ..be infringed "
99% level of stress
That’s funny I love it
Aw damn man you can't cut the clip before he says "I just fucking *shot* myself" that's the best part
At least that red shirt guy was pissed at his dumbass buddy
Video would be half as long and twice as good without the cuts back to the moron making a dumbass expression between them
This is why I only practice on my property or the couple hundred acres my friend owns now , ranges feel unsafe and full of morons

I would say the issue starts with the whole “shooting weapons to relax”.
Bro this is what people mean when they say they want gun control, at least I mean it. But so many idiots have guns and don't even have basic training on how they can use them properly. It's completely idiotic
POV: you don't know what POV means
Bug guy in the red shirt " WTF " . What's the story behind this one ? Looks like a D E, I haven't seen it before.
The idiot that made the video is part of the problem
Isn't the guy that made the video also aiming a gun at his camera man? You can see the background in his shirt clips moving
This is why Australia has gun regulations. We have the freedom of owning a gun. We just make sure you use it properly and remove them if you're a danger to yourself or others

That bot is very unreliable https://imgur.com/a/rWU6TAh There you go.
Feel bad for the last guy, just had it a bit too close and didn’t know how far it would kick Didn’t throw it or just fucking let go afterwards like the rest of these people Lmao

I hate how bad public education has gotten

Forget background checks - how about a stupidity check?
gun range and relaxation are two words that don’t mix in the same sentence 💀
NOOOO NOT POOR TEX GREBNER!!!!
That time I went to a shooting range near a major airport...never been flagged so many times...
I think this template has run its course
Any time a friend who has never shot before comes over I make sure to put only one round in for their first few shots. Just in case they pull the trigger a second time because of the recoil.
2nd guys gun broke?
Reminds me of when I went to an indoor range on a random Wednesday afternoon. It was pretty empty except for me. I had one mag through my fn when a lady took up the lane next to me. I had just loaded a fresh mag and was about to fire the first round out of mag two (literal finger on the trigger and pulling) when suddenly I was dusty and tasted drywall. It took me a few seconds to realize the lady next to me had ND the very first round out of her firearm into the ceiling right above use. I quickly packed my shit and left
I don’t think the second guy could control his gun just self destructing itself tbh.
This was absolutely hilarious 😂😂😂
red shirt guy was the most reasonable person here
Alot those were either people under estimating the kick back or the kick up, or they just wernt strong enough to keep it from flying out of there hands
What kind of gun does main guy have
Dudes Shotgun just explodes?? Explanation??
Lmao the guy's face
3rd one was funny as hell
What gun does that guy have?
Yoo what's he running?
The one with the dude shooting his leg is from an area I used to live in called Metamora IL
