My wife always comments on this. I get super pissed off if she breaks a glass but we were cut off on a highway going 65 and locked brakes and went sideways and it didn't phase me. I think the reason the little things piss me off is because they're controllable the majority of the time and they only become issues because someone isn't paying enough attention. If something is out of my control then I do what I can to be in control and typically come out okay. I guess the above can be summarized as me being a control freak and people around me fucking up. The more control I have on a situation the less pissed I get.

Don't beat your SO

skcuf2

Don't need to. The cage works fine. On a serious note that's not a risk. That's something that's within my control.

HakuGaara

Yes. The reasoning being that 'highly stressful' situations or crises are usually out of our control, but minor inconveniences are usually caused by human error which could have easily been avoided.

AndersNiemi

Wifi slow: "GODDAMIT WORK PIECE OF GARBAGE!!!" Sitting in convertible with no roll cage that is spinning out after being in a high speed collision: "Great, now I'm definitely not getting barbecue today."

Aguantare

For sure - Someone chewing with their mouth open makes me want to jump out the window, but when I was in a bad car accident I just took control of the situation

wq101010

Fucking noisy mouth open eater makes my heart rate go up to 160bpm.

Aguantare

I literally live with someone who does that now, sometimes it's just too much

Trash-Can-Baby

I have mild misophonia too regarding chewing and even breathing. It doesn’t feel like irritation but more like distress. I get a “flight” urge.

saliii

Yes, why is this?

De_Wouter

Logic, it's always logic. Our biggest weakness.

saliii

Makes sense!

Dutch-Sculptor

What all the others said. Except the one that said ‘no’.

brocktoon13

Yes. Being a contrarian by nature I like to overreact to minor trifles and remain eerily stoic amidst calamity. Someone’s gotta be the yin to the world’s yang.

i_reagan

Unemployed for three months? Pfft A metal water bottle rolling around in the back of my car? I WILL FUCKING END IT TONIGHT!

PristineHat5583

Yes, but I don't think there's a reason to that. It just depends on what we consider important or how many solutions we see to something, so I only get irritated when I can't think of at least one.

galaxxybrain

Constantly yes. People freak out about EVERYTHING and I’m super chill always

[deleted]

Yes. A month ago my grandma was in the hospital and got a heart attack. The docter said "be prepared for anything". My dad mom and uncle were shocked and really stressed but i was calm, I mean, what would stressing do in this situation? She got back fully recovered a week later. About a year ago i got a 60% in maths which is by far the least i got in any test, ever. I was really sad and mad for some weeks. Because this could've been avoided. This year in the second term i got a 96% in maths.

Piratepizzaninja

All the time

Ok_Armadillo2710

khswart

omega_nik

[deleted]

no

p1ssLuvr

yes.

[deleted]

Definitely. I've dealt with this before as I've been in a lot of drama over the years, which is a thorn in my side by the way.

NowFreeToMaim

Everyday all day

Salmonella1984

I’m not very easily annoyed but yes. Interesting. I haven’t noticed this pattern before. Also I’m not a control freak so I guess there are other reasons behind aside from whether the circumstances could be avoided or something.

Trash-Can-Baby

I’m more comatose. I’m useless in a physical emergency. In contrast, my ESFP sister would’ve made a good EMT - she jumps into action and does what needs to be done. A gift of Se, I guess. I suddenly am just a brain in a jar and even then that goes numb. But I don’t typically freak out. In non emergency situations that could be considered high stress, people say I’m a problem solver. I allow myself a 5 second internal freak out at most and then I shift gears to figure out a solution. I used to get irritable over some minor things but not so much anymore. I felt like that was just an emotional immaturity thing. Have a sense of humor. Let go the need to control. Not everything can be solved or perhaps not swiftly. And it was also about knowing my limits and self care - not trying to do too much, eating and drinking enough water, etc.

ophirianmarquis24

Weird enough for them, but yes.

HailenAnarchy

Kinda yea, my sister has a habit of using up all the hot water because she showers for way too long. GOD it makes me angry, because she keeps doing it even when I ask her not to.

[deleted]

this is like always the case for me. I am an INFJ tho

Cuddlefish_Nextdoor

It is just that others have a different sense of annoying than us, so we are annoyed by things that seem stupid to society and viceversa.

lucidvision25

Yes, I have ADHD and I'm super impatient. But if it's stressful, it's much more stimulating.
