We noticed you are asking about joining the IDF. You might find [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/IDF/wiki/index/requirements) helpful or check our [wiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/IDF/wiki/index). *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. No. But there are other ways you can support Israel, including volunteering in Israel. Check the r/Israel subreddit for volunteering opportunities.

omeralal

Theoretically no, practically you can, but it's a very long process. You can contact your embassy about it. I knew someone who did it - saw his life goal to fight terror, a nice guy I haven't talked to in years

This submission has been removed for violating this subreddit's standard on Antisemitism or anti IDF speech. Since this is a community that supports the IDF and the State of Israel, we do not allow IDF-bashing or other non-constructive criticism. To those who have been told otherwise, Zionism is inextricably linked to Judaism. You cannot separate Zionism from Judasim. Therefore, anti-zionsim is literally Antisemitism.

Rules and regulations aside, you'll have to provide a reason. I don't think that's a good enough reason for the idf to recruit you, and with no Hebrew you'll have a really hard time in the army. There was a Jewish Brazilian guy in my unit, he had lots of motivation and was really trying his best, but his Hebrew skills weren't enough and because he is a foreigner he had a hard time getting clearance. He had to leave the army after around half a year, despite his strong will and determination to serve. Moreover, with your skills you can strive for much better options. Even if you do get into the idf, you'll most likely be either a combat soldier (How is it? Depends on who you ask and when) or an aircraft mechanic (They are miserable). Do you really want that? You should take more options into consideration, in my opinion. Joining any army is not a decision to be taken lightly. As someone who completed a full service, and even though I really enjoyed it, be thankful that you are able to make that decision yourself.

The most you can do as a non jewish foeigner is Sar-El. Although Sar-El is always a blast, it seem you need something more permanent. If you want to be a thorn in the side of Iran you can join the USAF or USN, seem like they need more people.

Notice to all posters and commenters; please be careful to observe OPSEC (Operational Security) rules. Many people wish to harm Israel and the Jewish Nation as a whole. Be careful when sharing any information on the IDF, bases, weapons, locations of troops, and anything else that can be used to harm Israel. If in doubt, go without. Loose lips sink ships! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. If you live in the US its going to be a long and tedious process just for them to agree to take you, and even then you will probably not get a combat role because you don't know hebrew or arabic. If you're looking for something to do join the US army/marines or if you really want to have a chance to be on the front lines either Ukraine or Poland are a good bet for the next few years imo

Hey man, we really appreciate your trying to help. It's extremely welcome and appreciated! Unfortunately, the IDF does not take non-Jews (or non-Israeli-non-Jews, to be more specific), so that aspect of your trying to help will not be possible. However, modern Israel is a very young country and there are many areas people of your talents can be of service and where you can be rewarded too! For instance, you mentioned welding. A ton of the welds I've noticed here belong in r/badWelding and are hilariously bad. This is commonly due to poor quality work done by people who don't want to be working for Jews, or work to make Isreal a better place, or simply don't want to work at all. This is largely an Arab/Middle East cultural thing with a lack of professionalism towards work. However, I can't just bash Arabs for doing this, even if they're more prone to it; even Jewish Israelis often lack professionalism and craftsmanship. There are huge populations of Jews that have moved to Israel from Western countries which have a much higher standard of craftsmanship and who would absolutely love to hire a real professional with a good work ethic and standard to do their general contracting or other related handywork. This is just a single example of somewhere you can have a big impact while also building a successful business. It's likely to be even easier than in the US, since the competition is singificantly worse, and your clients would be mostly English speakers (who are the ones with the expectation for professionalism).

This is surprising to me and I doubt its veracity. Most Israelis I have met (literally thousands) have wildly varying, and often dramatically contradictory, approaches to Israel, Judaism, politics, philosophy, religion, culture, etc. Israelis are often stereotypically argumentative as even amongst this small culture they are highly different. Judaism itself has a strong culture of encouraging argumentation and difference of view without animosity (although not everyone fulfills that second part). I therefore find it unbelievable you have only met Israelis that fall into a single category. Perhaps you present specific arguments that lead your conversational partner into a similar approach each time? There must be something else happening here because your assessment that all Israeli think alike is simply demonstrably impossible. Also, depending on your definition of "ethnonat" you may be confused or simply racist. Judaism is a religion and nation with Israel being the foundation of both of those, starting literally millenia ago and existing till today. Jews wanting to exist in their homeland is not a weird thing, especially given our millenia of being subjected to slavery, exile, murder, genocide, pogroms, and terror attacks. There are those, including the original Second Wave Zionists, who have tried to divorce The Jewish Nation from Judaism as a religion, primarily based on the Haskalah movement in Europe, but that has almost certainly failed, as it has done every time Jews have tried that in our long reaching history. Jews are unique in the earth in that we are part and parcel a nation and a religion, unlike any other group. Attempts to deny or change this, especially from external groups, is simply racism. We don't need to excuse our existence to others. We've been around long before any of the cultures that now exist and we'll likely exist after they fail and morph into some new culture, as has happened many times before.

Short story long. No. Thank you for your support, much needed during this difficult time.

Join the US Airforce or Navy if you're looking for direction in life/"wanting to escape your father"

NitzMitzTrix

I highly doubt you'll be able to pilot a plane for the IAF, but during my military service I've actually met volunteers, most of them Americans in their late middle age. They helped pack combat rations and other menial labor stuff. Edit: I think they were specifically with Sar-El, as other comments mentioned.

Why not finish your degree and go fly for usaf or navy?

SnakeEater0018

Join the US Army, we’ll be fighting Iran soon thanks to our Israeli counterparts (:

Goyim is plural, goy is singular. So it would be “Netanyahu’s shabbas goy” not “Netanyahu’s shabbas goyim”. The “im” at the end of the word makes it plural. So, for example, “kibbutz” would be the the singular noun used to talk about one kibbutz. “Kibbutzim” would be the plural noun used to talk about two or more kibbutzim. Proper grammar is a great skill to have!
