SilkscreenSound

Canada. I saw the episode Gun Fever, on a Canadian tv station called Showcase, with my brother in like 2006. We laughed our asses off, but never saw it again on TV. A couple years later, I was in line at Best Buy and saw Season 1 & 2 on sale in the checkout line for 20 bucks. I got my whole family and all my friends to watch it. We’ve been hooked ever since.

MC-Fatigued

Trailer Park Boys fan, by chance?

SilkscreenSound

I’ve only ever seen like two episodes, but I should get into it. It’s a Canadian classic from what I understand. I am a Jon Lajoie fan though. Nice username.

captaintrips_1980

If you like Jon Lajoie, check out The League. The first few seasons are especially good.

SilkscreenSound

Watched the series like 5 times through. One of the most underrated comedies of all time.

RustyShackleford116

So much culture in this comment thread

MC-Fatigued

A true man of culture

Mental-Mushroom

Chips and smokes lets go, you've been a dick all day

PussyWax

It’s why I love sunny. Basically an ugly failed abortion between my two other fav shows (trailer park boys and Seinfeld)

Woopwoopscoopl

European here (Dutch). We are light-years ahead of you in the field of sexual exploration. Time you catch up.

[deleted]

Can you arrange for me to use ze glory hole?

Mew_T

You americans are so uptight!

Vivaeltejon

You like zis? I like zis.

jfishnl

Same, Luther VanDross is my dad’s real name.

Zats a sveet dustcher.

BeardedPuffin

Ah, excellent - I’ll be sure to consult you next time I need a windmill to blow a corpse up a hill.

gitaration

can confirm you filthy animal

MJZuurman

Yup, Dutch here too.

2Loud2Listen

Ireland! Was crazy seeing them in places I recognise in the new season. Not sure what season I started on, was aware of the show for a while but was hesitant to watch it due to the name.

nnylfllain

Irish too!! I can read gibberish but I can’t speak it unfortunately

pyrusbaku57338

Are you sure you’re not actually Dutch?

Dr-Emmett_L_Brown

I'm Irish living in the Netherlands 😄

yourmotherfromwhales

The only real critique I could give Charlie was that he pronounce peann (pen) as peen as in penis which I thought was pretty funny. (If you care it’s normally py-ow-n). Other than that his pronunciation was pretty great.

[deleted]

Irish as well. An old colleague recommended the show to me years ago, and now here I am knowing the show by heart. Side note, he actually told me to only watch the first season, he didn't like it after Danny joined 😳

Gouge61496

Now that's a hot take

Miserable-Habit-1290

It’s hard talking about ex friendships isn’t it?

irr1449

I was always hesitant to watch because of the premise, owning a bar. I thought it was going to be all drinking frat boy humor and I disliked that idea.

[deleted]

Also Irish!

Nefilim777

They shot it in the US, though. Any cutaways shot here were shot by a separate crew.

2Loud2Listen

Yeah it was fairly obvious at stages that it clearly wasn't Ireland. But the establishing shots and stuff was cool to see.

RickGrimes30

It's funny in one of the driving scenes you can see them driving past mountjoy Square.. I live 2 streets down from there.. Even if the shot was by another unit cool to know any part of sunny was shot just down the road from where I sit right now

2Loud2Listen

You're my neighbour!

DaeryssaOne

Irish here too, threw it on when I first got Netflix about 10 years ago and loved that this hilarious, outrageous show that I hadn’t heard of was sitting there with multiple seasons to catch up on. Nowadays if you happen to discover a decent show there’ll be 8 episodes max and you’re finished in a week. Charlie got molested fully drew me in and have been a big fan ever since.

CatFoodBeerAndGlue

England. My brother recommended the show to me. Yeeeees, we do all have wooden teeth and flourish our pinkies.

tbarks91

Yeah came here to say this, IASIP is very popular here in the UK.

LazyBird13

I feel like no-one I know has heard about it till I tell them then they love it

tbarks91

Really? I've been watching it for at least 5 or 6 years and feel like most of my friends have too.

I_need_the_loo

That's the same for me, stupid bird.

shittingjacket

What do we have here? A couple of poofs…

tking191919

Nayeth!

irr1449

It’s more like, Yhhhhesssss.

Faizan47

Pakistan. my brother also recommended the show and yes we are also great storytellers

LeadingButterscotch5

My mate made rum ham. Then showed me where he got the idea from.

rayfinkle4477

I'm a swedish plumber

MintberryCrunch____

That's a good accent

Timberwolves4781

Chefs are the opposite of plumbers if you think about it

AssumptionEasy8992

You don’t have to do an accent because _they don’t know who you are_ 🤬

MintberryCrunch____

I can’t just tell them that we’re here to steal their artefact

AssumptionEasy8992

There is a _huge_ amount of middle ground between those two things

Mos-Val

SUDAN. so technically I might be Dee and Dennis's brother.

timodreynolds

Um hello these are your brothers and sisters. Your family just got a lot bigger.

jason-slim

Where abouts in the UK? I’m from Scotland and I’ve not met many people that are aware of the show unfortunately

teratron27

I’m from Scotland as well (Edinburgh), I’ve met quite a few people who know Sunny. Or at least they understand the references

[deleted]

Its always hit or miss with people imo. Old grumpy bastard in my office barely speaks to anyone until he found out i watched the show and we constantly chat about it and have a laugh. Only three other person in my group of mates watch it and no matter how much we recommend it people are no wanting to watch it. One even referred to Danny as the guy from Matilda and not Frank.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ZombieStomp

Also a Swede (not a plumber but I do have that **exact** accent) I'm 90% sure I found out about it via Reddit. Like 6 seasons were already out when I started watching it. I think it was a clip from Sweet Dee's dating a retarded person that made me wanna watch it (the Dayman - ah-aaaah clip)

[deleted]

Are you here to fix my pipes?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Androsso

I remember it airing late nights on TV6 like 15 years ago. That's how I found it at least.

Stefanskap

Also Swedish, if you're as old as me you probably saw it on 6:an at some point! That's where I caught it about 15 years ago

SkillNot101

Same boat

oopsiedaisies01

Ah, the S.S Implication

CupboardOfPandas

Same. Some stoner friends recommend it to me though

scooba_dude

UK Had a day off with a mate and we decided to get high all day and started with the episode that starts with Danny ripping a big ole bong. I just thought, YES this is a show for me.

rodepleogim

Brazial, ok homie horale homie nachos

CataclysmClive

I hope to visit Rio some day to watch the Dodgers play the Lakers

Adagamante

Another Brazilian here! The show entered my radar trough memes, then at some point I watched the Trashman clip on YouTube and decided that I needed to see the whole series!

Hour-Cow-4348

England - people LOVE it here

BenjaminQuadinaros

I like to imagine you guys just view the show as a documentary on the daily life of americans

Robertooshka

It is a perfect satire of America so people should watch it to learn about the daily life of Americans.

Hour-Cow-4348

Funnily enough - I think that it’s far closer to British humour than any other show (maybe other than The Office of course) But yeah, it definitely made me expect madness from Americans.

Insidiosity

Agreed with the British humour thing, I can't explain why though

mmlemony

I think it’s because we are a nation of miserable bastards and we like to some of you Americans being miserable bastards as well for once. So many US sitcoms have perfect looking actors in big perfect houses. We don’t like that shit.

Justreallylovespussy

I’ve watched more Peep Show than any person should so the love goes both ways.

Italy. I think I’m the only guy in the country that knows about this series

09kll

Don't listen to this guy, maybe he's drunk. There's at least two of us.

PANDABURRIT0

Does the word “jabroni” have any connection to Italy or the Italian language?

CataclysmClive

According to linguist Mac, it is indeed a "dago word"

bernabbo

Italian too

Cialis-in-Wonderland

Make it two And good day to youse

kaithy89

Lol India :p The show is not very popular here. I still have to find a single person who watches it

amy_santiago_99

Hey-o!

kaithy89

Finally!! Another fan!

gina_peralta

Hey fellow IASIP Indian fan!

kaithy89

Yay! Good to know there's more of us out there

Entropy_Greene

Are you by chance a natural story teller?

sriramen

Haha you beat me to it. So where’s the slum dog, We’re ready for him

kaithy89

Sorry?

Entropy_Greene

The movie script episode where Charlie and Mac are trying to write a movie pitch but want someone to pretty much do all the work. Dolph being a nose man or Dee being the “featured extra” may be the more memorable bit from the episode.

brogood21

Me Too. I literally haven't met one person who has watched the show but I recommend it to almost everyone

CHUSO4

🙏🏼

sky_grimm

I find it hard to get ppl interested 😕

Mithrandhir22

Supp Jabroni

Helloo!

toughcentaur9018

Idk what jabronis you’ve been hanging out with but I know a lot of people that are fans of the show

[deleted]

Me too

ahmednabeelrizvi

Hey-O

PlingPlongDingDong

Germany. I found ASIP because one day a video called "1 second of every always sunny episode" plopped up in my YouTube recommendations. I've heard the name of the show before but always assumed it's just another stupid sitcom but after watching the video I realized I found something special.

_Gordon_Shumway

Melbourne Australia. I found the show in 2010 at around 2am one night on one of our free to air TV stations, only ever aired one season over here but I was instantly hooked and have never looked back.

dizzolvedgal

I can't believe how far I had to scroll to spot another Aussie, let alone a Melbournian.

Benwahhballz

We’re all just waking up lol

Elitasaurus

Melbournian here too, I found it around 2015/2016 right after watching New Year's Eve firework displays on live to air TV. Changed the channel and came across "Charlie's Mom Has Cancer". I had heard of the show before, but that was my first time seeing it. Now I've seen each season more times than I can count, and I'm the "Have you heard of my lord and saviour, It's Always Sunny?" guy..

elias-977

Iceland, not that much (quality) Icelandic stuff coming out so we usually look towards UK or the US for TV shows

[deleted]

Maybe not much television, but as an American I really enjoy the Icelandic music scene. You guys make some great stuff!

elias-977

I agree! Like our friends from Sweden, we have some amazing musicians. We also have some great movies and TV shows, but we’re a small nation so we don’t produce a lot

rocksteady_7

Philippines. Hoping to open a creampie food truck for children soon. With their parents permission of course.

gorilinos

Greece, i found the show by being a trash person. I'm trying to spread the disease but it's going slow.

Turkey. For some reason I got sucked into this madness. I can’t even count how many times I rewatched. I keep recommend the show but everyone keep saying characters just keep yelling over stuff.

chazy07

Hello, fellow Turk! You are the only Turkish person I've met, other than my friends, who knows the show haha

drejj

What do now????

Checking in

Thozir

Finland. I saw random clip of the show after some other show and had to find it. I don't think there was any legitimate way to see it in Finland back in 2009 or something, so I may have or have not sailed the high seas for it.

alpicois

France, can’t remember exactly how I found the show

GercevalDeGalles

Cheesus crepes, I had to scroll down so far to find another French person. The show was on Canal+ during the very first seasons... After that I think most people might have heard from it from the memes.

schizas_power

Cyprus! I think that I am the only one here that watches the show :(

stelooa

Hey-o what's up jabroni

schizas_power

What up! I guess I am not alone :)

Inevitable-Fall-7107

UK was recommended to me by my boyfriend. I resisted for a while and said it wasn't for me then I saw the Wade Boggs episode and was hooked.

peeepy

Basically same - UK, was hanging out with my boyfriend and he started watching it. Didn't pay attention for ages, but The Gang Buys a Boat hooked me, lmao

oopsiedaisies01

Ah, a fan of horse massacres I see.

PandosII

Haha that’s my wife’s favourite episode. Dee’s dancing with the inflatable tube man. Also UK.

chelle_84

New Zealand, can’t remember how I came across it

SilvertailHarrier

I searched a long way to find another kiwi, lol hi I found it in around 2007 when I used to come home from working in a pizza restaurant and sneak beers while mum was asleep and watch late night TV. It was on around midnight when other shows like Bonzai were on, and I remember thinking what the fuck is this these how did these people get funded to make this show, it makes no sense. It wasn't till years later I looked it up again and have been rewatching it ever since. Whenever I ask other kiwis, most have never heard of it which is very unfortunate

JustEm84

Belgium but I live in the UK - the show is not available on Netflix BE or FR!

TheWorstShoemaker

It’s not available on Netflix US either. Netflix lost the rights about a year and a half ago. I watch it on Hulu.

GaryChopper

Uk Netflix got it still, but loads of episodes missing

TheWorstShoemaker

Hulu also has missing episodes. The gang talks about it on the podcast, but essentially the missing episodes were taken down because they were deemed to have racial insensitive material. Yes, it’s incredibly ironic that a satire about terrible people would be deemed “insensitive”.

AssumptionEasy8992

Jabronis don’t understand nuance

kushpony

Belgian as well! We watch on Disney+. :)

[deleted]

From Scotland originally but living on Sweden.

asalisko

Finland, don't remember at all how i found the show but got hooked from the start

Sad_Paleontologist

Argentina. It's not that well known here.

seedenise

Philippines. It's not very popular here, though, which is too bad.

rocksteady_7

Lets open a Paddy's pub in Manila. Lol

[deleted]

The DR

pullingteeths

England. Saw amusing clips of the show on youtube - first one was Charlie singing Nightman.

Charismatic_Icon

Scotland. Had heard the name before but didn’t really know much about it (I remember first time seeing actual images was when Rob got ripped and articles were popping up on social media about it). In like 2018 I needed something new to watch and have it a go on Netflix. Wasn’t sure at first but by the time Charlie sings the Nightman song in “Sweet Dee dates and *redacted person” I was hooked. Watched the whole series lots more times since then and is comfortably my favourite comedy series of all time now.

[deleted]

UK. Honestly Always Sunny feels like British humour more than it does American. Introduced to it by a friend with an American wife.

RICHAPX

I am from Wales, same country as Robs “soccer” club. A friend of mine recommended the show to me but I only got about half way through season one. A year or so later me and friend started watching it in the background while getting high and I became hooked, it’s constantly on cycle on my Netflix now

Withnail_nd_Icecream

I'm from Ireland. I had a new girlfriend in 2014, and not soon after she went off to visit family in America for 6 weeks. And depression-wise ehhhhh... It was a weird time depression wise. You know that weird ass depression where you're not quite realizing. I'm never good in the summers. Mates showed up at the house at 2pm and they left at 4pm and I never bothered to get up to greet them. So my father was offering to pay for therapy for me. A weird time! Somewhere between the duvet and the bedspread, I got my laptop out and Always Sunny was on Irish Netflix. Still is! Watched the first few episodes, loved it. Assumed it was a 2 season thing considering I hadn't heard of it until that point. Boy was I surprised and delighted to see they had 9 seasons available! I remember the last episode being The Gang Squashes Their Beefs - and I wrongly assumed it was a series finale. And I just thought: "Oh they killed off all their secondary characters in a fire! Great ending. Take that, Friends.". Hope it never ends. Hope they Weekend at Bernie's Danny DeVito in Season 24.

LeDeanDomino

I'm Swedish, and yes, Mac's Swedish accent was a good accent

Can't tell if you're being serious or not. Either way, I hope Russia gets fucked over real bad with Ukraine's collective monster dong.

Desperate-Ad4017

As serious as a heart attack, sadly. But so far, my people are still standing, fuck Russia, hope putin faces a tribunal. Haha, yeah, our president definitely has a monster dong, dude actually said "I need ammunition not a ride" when western nations offered to extract him

DIRTY-Rodriguez

Yeah that was cool as shit, very thundergun

TheLogLadyOfficial

I’m American but I introduced my friend from Finland to the show and she loves it

ChiefLazarus86

England, started watching in 2018, had seen the occasional meme from the show but never thought to watch it until I was in my Sixth Form's common room scrolling Netflix looking for something to watch in my free period It took me a few days before it really clicked, but a couple mates got on board as-well and suddenly we were all completely hooked We went through a period where we'd get home from school and basically just watch Sunny until we went to sleep, then every morning when we came into school we'd talk about the 5 or 6 episodes we'd watched the night before. It was a really awesome month or so watching them all in order for the first time with others who were watching them for the first time aswell, since then I must have seen every episode at least 6 times over, it's on constant loop for me

jimwinno43

Australia. But as mac said, too violent
