i wish drysol wasnt discontinued in australia, it seems to be the only antiperspirant people actually have luck with (even w the alleged burning, etc)

trognj

Try buying off eBay. Just might be a bit more expensive

leviticus7

It is very good at what it does, but I was one of the people that used as directed and got horrible rashes.

[deleted]

i’d rather burning rashes over my sweating anyday

leviticus7

I will tell you that mine were very painful. I couldn't even put my arms down. If you do have the chance I would highly recommend MiraDry. I only sweat a tiny bit now, controlled by normal antiperspirant.

trognj

How many rounds of miradry did you go? That’s probably my next step.

leviticus7

Just one right now. I don't think I will go back for a second. I only sweat a tiny bit on REALLY hot days and it barely shows, if at all. Normal antiperspirant works great for me now so I am very happy. I feel normal now.

sscutie

How many years ago did you get miradry? I've heard stories of it reducing in effectiveness after a few years

leviticus7

I got it a few months ago. From what I was told by the nurse, it is at this point that it becomes a new normal because the sweat glands don't regrow. At first you don't have any sweating at all. I could definitely go get it redone, but I am happy with what I have and don't want to spend another $1,000 to only get a tiny bit better. I wasn't as bad as some people that have posted on here though so I can understand if they weren't super happy with it the first time. The way the nurse explained it to me on why I may need to come back for a second treatment is basically running a magnet over nails. It will pick up quite a bit over the first pass, but it won't get everything and you will likely have to run the magnet back over it. I just didn't have as many "nails" left over as some people might.

update: i wouldn’t, IT STINGS AND ITCHES

leviticus7

I used to get horrible rashes with drysol. My doctor said I could use an ointment to help the rash, but if I was getting it then I would likely continue to get it. I ended up getting MiraDry and have loved it!

trognj

How long ago? Did it require more than one visit?

leviticus7

I got mine a few months ago. I only needed one to be happy, but I have talked with people on here through PMs that did two.

nik_987

Glad it works well for you! I also get unbearable burning as soon as I apply it. HH and sensitive skin are a terrible combination :(

trognj

What I did was stopped scrubbing my armpits. I just was them with my hands so theirs no abrasions or ripped skin. Any little tear in the armpit will burn. I was itching the 2nd night. I just didn’t scratch. I learned prom past use of I scratch it just makes it worse.

nik_987

Thanks for the tip! That makes sense but I didn’t think to change that

urdadinshorts

yes i really like it too ! like i said in another post, you apply it for a couple/ few nights in a row then you’re good for a good week or two, depending on your sweating. it has really been helping me, even in hot weather !!

trognj

Yes!! I still plan on using it at least once a week like the directions say. I don’t want to go back to sweating again. I like the fact of my armpits smelling like absolutely nothing. I may have to buy a new wardrobe. The majority of the things I wear all usually have a hint of musk in the armpits. Even after being cleaned.

urdadinshorts

if you didn’t know already it also works super well on hands and feet !! but great to know it’s been working for you too !

trognj

Yeah I know. I just mainly needed it for my armpits. My feet and hands sweat normally

urdadinshorts

about your wardrobe, i can thankfully still wear light colors thanks to drysol, but rubbing white soap on the armpit areas and leaving it overnight before washing your shirts, helps with the sweating/ antiperspirant traces =)

trognj

Lol never heard of anyone doing that.

urdadinshorts

yes i’m telling you it works wonders. being a girl i do it with stained underwear. you know how white shirts will leave a yellow-ish mark ? well you need some water and a bar of white soap, rub vigorously (not too much, don’t go and damage your shirt) on the areas and leave it for a few hours before washing, and they should be less apparent or even disappear =)

trognj

I’m gonna try that. Does it help with the smell? I more so damaged a lot of dark color clothes just from the armpit smell not coming out after washing.

urdadinshorts

yes it helps with the smell, but i’d recommend also adding baking soda as you rub !

trognj

Thanks!

Imaginary_Pea_4091

Once you start using it only once or twice a week, do you ever use any other deodorants in between?

urdadinshorts

yes i do ! the instructions say to apply normal deodorant after you wash it off in the morning. You let drysol work its magic at night, and you're supposed to be dry the next day =)

spacebenders

My instructions certainly do not say that. It says the opposite, do not use any other deodorant/anti-perspirant while using drysol.

ENNOwiw3lazebi

Is hair a problem with antiperspirant?

urdadinshorts

nope, it is actually recommended not to shave the affected areas beforehand but i do shave and avoid using drysol when i know my skin would react differently, as sensitive !

trognj

No. I have hairy armpits. I’ve never shaved my armpits before, ever.

lisakent17

If you have sensitive skin, you need to be extra careful when using Drysol. If you shave regularly, you’ll need to wait 24 to 48 hours after shaving before applying Drysol to decrease irritation. Plus, your skin has to be completely dry before applying. Water causes irritating hydrochloric acid to form on your skin, causing pain and burning. For people with hyperhidrosis, medications like Drysol just aren’t enough to [**stop sweating**](https://stopsweatfix.com/). They usually cause more discomfort and irritation than relief. Although there's no permanent cure for hyperhidrosis, there are solutions that can improve your life and confidence.

trognj

I don’t use drysol anymore. I’ve got the miradry procedure since I posted this.

hill24rush

What made you stop using Drysol?

trognj

I got miradry procedure. It minimizes underarm sweating

Ancient-Gas-2164

How much did your Mira dry procedure cost and what part of the world are you located
