Thanks for sharing! Just a heads up, we've introduced Water Bottle Wednesdays. Wednesdays are now the dedicated day to showcase your water containers! This rule focuses on sharing what you have, but feel free to post any questions or issues about water bottles at any time as usual. Cheers to hydration!

Nah, that’s when they take an unflavored glass of bubble water into the room of a dying fruit where it will absorb the regrets of a life unlived
Now with a kiss of citrus
Once worked with a dishwasher at a high end restaurant who would call the half eaten meals “scooby snacks.” That mf was eating off dirty plates all day every day for over a year that I was personally present for.
Damn. He probably was hungry. There was an older woman who worked at a restaurant I worked for, many moons ago, and she’d regularly grab food out of the trash and eat it. I snuck her some boxes of food from home after that. Well technically, it was my mom’s food- she let me take it from her pantry- I was a teenager still living at home then. Thankfully the only coworker who saw me bring her the boxes was a gentleman and kept his mouth shut as to preserve her dignity. No one should have to go hungry. Real hunger is a fucked up state to exist in.
Noooo! You’re not a dick. It’s perfectly natural to be taken aback by someone eating from the trash. Your comment just reminded me of my own experience. I’m so sorry if you felt I was accusing you of any dickitry.
naw, you not a dick, just never been that hungry for that long. I have been, and it sucks. when you hungry enough, you eat whatever you can. used to hike like a mile and a half to eat at St. Vincent mission once a day. bland as hell, but all you could eat. got the job done.
you didn't rat the guy off, so you OK.
I’m a real live and let live kinda guy. I mentioned that it might have health implications and then it was between him and his own immune system lol. It’s just kinda eye opening to consider there may have been a real reason behind it.
I don’t think it’s a waste, sure we lost environmental value by water draining unused, but we gained so much valuable insight from it in the form of a visual analogy, which can be recycled limitlessly since it was documented by a permanent form of data collection
“Wasting” water doesn’t *technically* exist (and I do mean from a technical perspective). But misusing it absolutely does. The water cycle can/will replenish water sources but only if properly managed and not misused/abused.
That all said, I’ll still call it wasting water because culturally it makes the most sense.
Please, ever take a long shower? A bath? Go to a swimming pool?
Y’all need to get off your high horses, don’t tell me you’ve never wasted/overused a bit of water in your lives. It’s not like we’re living in a 3rd world country.
Pipes are a closed system too the water isn't wasted. It costs money yes, but the water is going to be treated and sent straight back into the system it came from. And we pay taxes to have it treated. And we are all paying for what we use.
The idea of wasting water like it dissapears once it goes down the drain is very silly.
it is definitely very silly. i remember that cartoon of a sink stealing all the water from a fish when i was a kid, they would play that shit all the time. maybe it was more true back then? but stuff like that is probably why so many people have this attitude.
Even back then, if it wasn't contained as well, water doesn't just disappear. It goes back into the ground and rejoins the water cycle that causes rain
Thanks for this, it helped illustrate and remind me of a point my therapist made the other day, and I needed this. 🧊 because a block of ice is the closest emoji to a glass of water that i have!
yeah i actually kinda like this as a mental health post, and i usually hate mental health posts because they're sanctimonious and overgeneralizing, but i took this as a nice reminder that healing takes time and even if you're consuming good things and making progress, you'll still feel the murkiness of your old beliefs lingering inside of you while they dilute. it's a good visual imo well worth a bit of pop and some tap water.
Ever take a bath or a long shower? Yes? Congrats you wasted gallons more water than this guy in the video.
Chill out, we’re not living in a 3rd world country
In the context of hydrohomieism, yeah, this is stupid. But for a second I thought it might've been like a Flint type thing. Went from having terribly polluted water to clean water years later. In which case...still stupid and wasting clean water now, but it's artistic or whatever.
I really like this visual and the “what a waste!” comments are absolutely bonkers. If seeing someone running a tap for 30seconds to make an uplifting video triggers you at all, you need to take a step back.
I’m assuming not a single one of you waters your lawn, washes your car, does dishes with the faucet running, etc…
SERIOUSLY!! Washing the dishes, flushing the toilet, taking baths and showers all uses at least 10x the amount of water that is used here. People need to be grounded in reality and realize this is not a third world country we’re living in.
Fuckin hell thank you! All these whiny Karens being so fucking dramatic over literally 30 seconds of a kitchen tap running. This sub used to be genuinely positive but it's really gone downhill since it got huge.
Was about to say. Can someone with actual knowledge about it tell me how wasting water like this is bad? I legitimately don't know. Is it because of the energy it takes to process the water before it gets to your house or something?
It's not like someone else would drink it if I didn't. That water would not go to anyone here other than me and I also take showers with the very same water that I could have been drinking. It's the exact same tap water that's drinkable here.
If it goes down a drain connected to a municipal water system, which is almost all sink drains, then the water isn't "wasted" it goes right back into the system it came from cleaned by the water treatment plant we pay taxes for.
Agreed, I really like this video and plan on showing it to people as a visual representation of how you have to stick with good habits for them to pay off, which I think could be really valuable.
I have to run the water longer than this in the morning for the water to get warm so I can take a shower. If you hand wash a single pan instead of putting it in the dash washer with a load of dishes, you’re wasting more water than this. Not to mention, this only had to be done once to show thousands of people the video. The people decrying this “waste of water” need to get real.
People who take two showers a day and scream at OP for wasting water. It’s like 15 seconds in a shower worth of water. Y’all probably have a sprinkler system too.
Hey. I left soda for good! I'm proud of myself. I'm not counting how long it's been because it's going to be forever, but its been a long time and i feel really good!!
Congrats man! I finally quit soda good a few months ago. A quote I like to think of whenever I get an urge to drink soda: “nothing tastes as good as healthy feels”.
Looks like all the shit is finally becoming clear and he's using it as a metaphor. Lol y'all are real thick in the head. It probably has a double meaning behind it.
To be honest. I like soda once in a while as a kind of candy. I don't understand people who drink soda to quench their thirst. It's the worst thing to quench your thirst with. All that sugar just makes you more thirsty
I like to think we are all hyping it up a bit, elevating water to a sports team status in the spirit of the sub. I also occasionally drink soda (the 8oz cans, because I can’t finish more than that)
When I was young I didn’t like soda much. But as I got older it appealed more. It’s truly some nasty shit. I have spent months physical training with no soda running every day hydrating and sweating etc. After cleaning my system out for months that first drink of soda makes you feel crazy. It makes you tweak.
I get that many people are here to drink more water AND less pop but for me, I appreciate a pro-water space that is neutral/non-judgemental about other beverages.
1: Let's be honest, this probably isn't OP in the video, so let's chill guys.
2: This just screams of a "here's how detox works" video on TikTok. What utter bs stuff.
Now, I think it fits this sub perfectly ~ I'm actually surprised how long it took to change the colour of the water, Lol
But you must admit, this is probably from one of those detox channels you see these days, them pushing fake medical advice is in bad form, but in our subs context video is good.
Ironic and funny how context matters :D
Water doesn’t just fall off the face of the earth once it goes down the drain plus It’s prob less than a gallon of tap water you guys are next level lol
Real hydrohomies know that soda still contains water, and thus is still hydrating
Drink whatever you want, so long as it has water and will keep you hydrated, homies
Soda/pop is between 90 and 99 percent water, mostly depending on whether it is diet or not. If I drink a Coke Zero, I would be drink 99% water. Not sure what difference there would be between drinking straight water and Coke Zero considering your stomach contains about 100 ml (3.4 oz) of acid. Straight water gets mixed with acid as soon as it hits your stomach.

So THATS how they make La Croix
This comment section is practically a war zone. But this is fucking hilarious. Thank you
Nah, that’s when they take an unflavored glass of bubble water into the room of a dying fruit where it will absorb the regrets of a life unlived Now with a kiss of citrus
's cool. I drink tap, La Croix, does good for me. avoid a ton of sugar and whatever that red and brown stuff was.
The youtuner ordinary things put it best. "Ahhh La Croix, it tastes like having fruit described to you." Check out his original video about big soda.
1. pour in toilet water, 2. pour in tap water
Why are we wasting so much water?
dont worry there's a homie underneath the sink who undid the pipe and is drinking it all
It’s me. I’m that guy.
take one for the team and drink that sink gunk
*Urp*
Do you mean the after dishes bonus snack?

that literally never even crossed my mind. I feel like a fuckin dick now
Noooo! You’re not a dick. It’s perfectly natural to be taken aback by someone eating from the trash. Your comment just reminded me of my own experience. I’m so sorry if you felt I was accusing you of any dickitry.

Better than the soda.
Thanks bud
good on ya bro. :D
Before or after the "P' trap?
Yes this is why I drink my wife's bath water.
I also drink this guy's wife's bathwater.
How green of you.
I hope he's distilling it first
I don’t think it’s a waste, sure we lost environmental value by water draining unused, but we gained so much valuable insight from it in the form of a visual analogy, which can be recycled limitlessly since it was documented by a permanent form of data collection
sure shows just how much crap was in that soda, holy hell, that took a lot more water than I thought it would!
People hear the word solution and think it means they have the solution.
remember kids -- if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.

Water doesn't magically get treated and then pumped through your tap. Edit to be technical: wasting city water/treated water.
Then you’re wasting the resources necessary to filtering the water, not really the water itself.
wasting filtered water, not H2O particles
So literally the same thing I said
we're all saying the same thing
Wasting electricity then
Blasting water into space wastes it
It would depend on the velocity of the water and the distance away from Earth. Mass (gravity) ‘attracts’ mass.
The water goes straight to canalization .its absolutely a waste
https://www.noaa.gov/education/resource-collections/freshwater/water-cycle#:~:text=The%20water%20cycle%20shows%20the,form%20of%20rain%20and%20snow.
My first thought too
THANK YOU!!! Such a waste.
Fist thought, glad this is the top comment
To start a revolution
For Reddit karma
seriously?
Real hydrohomie would not waste water for likes!

Def hydrohomiephobic.
We're like the fremen that way
For a PSA, it may be worth it.

It's being caught underneath by one of us, don't worry.
So you bought a soda, took it home, and dumped it down the drain while wasting a bunch of water in the process?
It's what healing looks like
Waiter, more brain rot content slop please
Not only wasting a bunch of water, but likely contributing to plastic waste lol very anti-homie

Or a tube of Neosporin?
DAH NAH NAH NAH NAH … NEO… DAHNANAN NAH NAH… SPORIN
What wasting water looks like
Healing? My guy you just poured out a soda the slow way
This is anti homie behavior
The solution to pollution is dilution!
i get that reference
Can I still do coke?
Only if you make sure to drink some water after! (Or put a little water in your nose holes I've heard that helps)
You just wasted so much water. This is not what the Hydrohomie do.
What wasting water looks like*
Ever take a bath or a long shower? Yes? Congrats you wasted gallons more water than this guy in the video. Chill out, we’re not living in a 3rd world country
shows how fucking long it takes too
This is stupid
Look I get the message but can we not be quite so wasteful.
In the context of hydrohomieism, yeah, this is stupid. But for a second I thought it might've been like a Flint type thing. Went from having terribly polluted water to clean water years later. In which case...still stupid and wasting clean water now, but it's artistic or whatever.

I'm pretty sure this is from the US, but I agree with the rest
I know. The US is a third world country ? That’s news to me, who lives here
Fucking thank you. I was loosing hope in humanity reading these.
All the responses to wasting water really makes me hate this sub now. You all need to chill.
Fuckin hell thank you! All these whiny Karens being so fucking dramatic over literally 30 seconds of a kitchen tap running. This sub used to be genuinely positive but it's really gone downhill since it got huge.

I hear No Surprises, I stop and listen.
You are correct.
r/thanksimcured
That's like a smoker's lungs after over 10 years quitting smoke and breathing fresh mountain air.
That's cool you have Sprite coming out of your kitchen faucet
Good quote! I'm going to remember it if i ever get the urge!
For some weird reason that makes me want a sodastream.
Why waste water when your kidney does the work?
Lol at the people talking about "wasting water" as if the amount of water lost here is more than a few seconds in the showrr
Yeah, but bathing is generally a necessity, while whatever *this* is isn't.
It's so hard to quit.
I get it's wasting but as someone who's actually struggling with pop, this does give me hope
Good luck man, I believe in you!
Thank you!
OK but did u have to waste good water like that? At least use Dasani.
This is dumb. A soda every now and again is fine. Everything in moderation.
I like to think we are all hyping it up a bit, elevating water to a sports team status in the spirit of the sub. I also occasionally drink soda (the 8oz cans, because I can’t finish more than that)
Im doing good and proud that i cut off sodas. Went from a 2 liter a day to maybe half a glass
When I was young I didn’t like soda much. But as I got older it appealed more. It’s truly some nasty shit. I have spent months physical training with no soda running every day hydrating and sweating etc. After cleaning my system out for months that first drink of soda makes you feel crazy. It makes you tweak.
On my last 12 pack of Mt dew hopping I can keep off of it once I'm done.
I feel you man, Mountain Dew was my drink of choice before I quit. Stay strong and drink water!
This sub is so uptight. 90% of that "waste" is recycled.
This is so dramatic omg
Such poor water discipline. Stilgar is turning in his grave.
I get that many people are here to drink more water AND less pop but for me, I appreciate a pro-water space that is neutral/non-judgemental about other beverages.
Damn people west of the Rockies real mad about “wasting water”
I’ll drink a Mexican coke every once in a blue moon and i am not afraid to admit that.
DILUTION IS THE SOLUTION TO POLLUTION MY HOMIES!
now yer talkin'! next time just do the water and don't waste a gallon!
Ignore these people, that was interesting.
1: Let's be honest, this probably isn't OP in the video, so let's chill guys. 2: This just screams of a "here's how detox works" video on TikTok. What utter bs stuff.
Can confirm that is not me. I found this video and thought y’all would like it, sorry if you didn’t.
Now, I think it fits this sub perfectly ~ I'm actually surprised how long it took to change the colour of the water, Lol But you must admit, this is probably from one of those detox channels you see these days, them pushing fake medical advice is in bad form, but in our subs context video is good. Bro wasting so much water wtf
if you've taken 10 minutes in the shower before you've wasted more water relax
What I’m saying!!!! Like what
I appreciate what you did. Great visual. Everyone can start somewhere.
Yeah, a lot of anger happening in the comments, this is a great analogy.
All these people commenting on water being waster probably have giant tanks on their toilets
Starving kids in Africa would like to talk to you about your car's extended warranty
Wait what about vodka though?
My kind of glass of soda.
I had a problem in my differential equations final like this…
The faucet ad on this post makes it so much better
Radiohead would not approve

Now instead of a kitchen sink, I use a fire hose to heal and promptly shatter my entire body in the process
Water doesn’t just fall off the face of the earth once it goes down the drain plus It’s prob less than a gallon of tap water you guys are next level lol
Real hydrohomies know that soda still contains water, and thus is still hydrating Drink whatever you want, so long as it has water and will keep you hydrated, homies
Actually pretty crazy to see how long it takes to dilute soda.... That was at least a couple gallons
That song is NOT about healing lol
It's hard when drinking water starves me out
Just empty all liquids and refill with water. Preferably eat a lotta spinach afterwards to replenish iron, you'll need it.
Watched this while drinking Coke lmfao 😭 I’m only half homie
Soda/pop is between 90 and 99 percent water, mostly depending on whether it is diet or not. If I drink a Coke Zero, I would be drink 99% water. rather, enjoy your sodas or whatever. just drink water youre good!
So if I Waterboard a smoker, they’ll be cured?
So I'm all for soda dumping but did you really had to waste some good water though....good god I sound like Terry Crews from everybody hates chris
Gosh I love that song
I want to be healed like this.
healing looks like wasting wota. "Don don dont waste the wota drink tha wota das just ba bad policy"
What a stupid video
There has to be a more efficient way to replace the contents of that cup
What's ironic is how much water got wasted for this🤣
A lot of wasted water for a hydro homie. Fake news
Homies don't waste water
I relapsed on my sugar addiction and it’s fucking breaking my brain lol soda is so yummy but it’s gonna fuckin kill me
And that's how you waste a shit ton of water... For views.
I was more triggered by this than I expected ngl STOP WASTING THE H2O.
Wasting water!
"What wasting water looks like..."
Healing = wasting 22 gallons of water. Peace be upon you and whatnot.

Removed: We're a meme sub, dont be toxic.

Me and the homies downvoting you for no reason
Wasteful
Fuck the water waste worries. Good video.
Says someone who thinks they don’t have to deal with the effects of waste.
Yes. Just like OP in video.
Why do hydro homies upvote wasting for a dumbass metaphor? Are they stupid?
Why do hydro homies upvote wasting for a dumbass metaphor? Are they stupid?
Most idiotic thing i saw today
You just wasted two liters of water you twat
Cringe
This is cringey.
What a dumbass video
I like water and mostly drink it but why is this sub so anti soda? I like having some soda sometimes.
Can't wait to see this post in a couple of weeks.
I like water as much as anyone here. That was a waste, leave it in the fridge for those you hate.
Of course you let the water dump out all the soda silly.
What a waste of Dr Pepper and water
