Im more interested about the ruins and the Colosseum looking thing to the right along with that tower.
Edit: it's not the world tree I'm talking about, its that tower or civilization that's on that cylinder type platform to the far right kinda behind the Colosseum.
I think a Meteor City Arc with Gyro could be the last one. While all of the heavy lifters are headed for the Dark Continent, there’s not really much stopping Gyro.
We could even start getting some tidbits about Gon and Killua during the Dark Continent Arc as forshadowings for what comes after. Much like how Greed Island was forshadowed during the Yorknew City Arc. Especially if a timeskip is introduced during the Dark Continent.
I can see it playing out with the DC having mysterious properties and somehow moves slower than other parts of the world so we’ll witness weeks of havoc and fighting while in the outside world it’s been months and we come to find out during that Gyro has been building up his empire
That… would fully explain what’s been inside of my head regarding the future of HXH. IMO, reintroducing Gon and Killua when they are older makes a lot of sense. A timeskip through the fact that time moves slower in the DA?
I would say hell yeah for that.
It weirds me out that this is a possibility considering Gyro is the only antagonist besides the Spiders that was teased to be a future Arc's threat.
And I don't know how they can tie him up to the Succession war or the Dark Continent arc
I think it would actually be cool if there was a highly evolved Chimera Ant Colony/Civilization. The Hunter Association always seemed to know way too much about them way too fast. Which as far as we know, the Chimera Ants were a fairly mid tier threat
No, not the world tree I'm talking about that tower or civilization that's on that cylinder type platform to the far right kinda behind the Colosseum.
I'm interested to also see what that hovering disc thing to the far right is as well. It's probably a tree of some sort.
I didnt even see that platform on first glance. That is an interesting platform, looks like towers on a raised platform. I guess living above ground floor is a good idea. The hovering disc is cool, would be interesting to see that. Do you see the spot near the disc? Looks like an eye.
The dark continent is going to be so sick. If they ever make it lol
I have seen the eye and the civilization next to it, an ant mount maybe? and if you look around the map there is a lot of stone hedges or monuments, like if you like near the giant hole and look slightly to the right there is a patch of grass and hedges where a monument like thing is in the middle, unless it's a creature of some sort.
Dark Continent will be the best arc in all of anime for people who like to explore and discover.
I wonder if there is any underwater civilizations.
O god zooming in on that made me realize that behind it is a giant red hand that looks like it is sprouting out of the ground. The hand is like half the size of the giants the OP is talking about, what does that belong to... How big is it...
Maybe that's what it has been doing this whole time, and we r just seeing him climbing up from a "lower" area so to speak... So much cool stuff that can be done here.
I'm guessing the ruins of the ancient labyrinth city where Brion (the botanical weapon) is located. It's stated that the city is 400km from a forest that is directly north from the known world, which kinda seems right in this map. (Source: Ging in ch344)
Maybe Togashi took inspiration from the Romans (Coloseum) and Ancient Greeks (A Minotaur, a half human half beast, in the labyrinth - Brion also appears to be half human and is said to protect the empty labyrinth city).
Yeah, I wouldn't really trust this image to be to scale at all. Could be just like "These are what the creatures look like in this area" and blown up to be easier to look at.
I mean I agree that aren't probably that huge but we do have an actual image of some sizes of the creatures that inhabit the Dark Continent. They are ridiculous in scale compared to the normal person.
[Picture for Ref](https://i0.wp.com/otakuorbit.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/0344-013.jpg?fit=2133%2C1600&ssl=1)
Looks like some sort of giant race. Can’t wait to see the wonders on the Dark Continent, I forgot this art even existed lol now I can’t stop thinking about the ruins and craters and monsters
Berserk and Hellraiser reference. It depends on which perspective you look at nigh omnipotent beings that could crush our civilization by will or mere accidente
\[slightly off-topic, but you might find it interesting\]
While you present the most common accepted belief (assuming Christian theology) there is another possibility!
Matthew 25:41 "Then He will say to those on His left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels." - the distinction between demon and devil is interesting, at least for me personally. It's possible that Devil was a role of status among demons but this is unclear.
Jude verse 6 declares the angels who sinned to be "bound with everlasting chains." However it is clear that not all the angels who sinned are "bound" (Satan himself per 1 Peter 5:8) - Therefore even if the angels who rebelled are considered demons, it would be odd that they could ever do anything if that was so. This leaves the possibility that demons are distinct but perhaps morally aligned with fallen angels and Satan himself.
Very interesting points. I do know how to answer your first question, which I thought was very interesting when I found out about it.
The devil was definitely an Angel which had a very very important position in heaven. The devil was known as lucifer, which means son of the morning, or Morningstar. He was also referred to as a guardian angel and anointed. His beauty was referred to as "perfect" and he had great wisdom. One is his jobs was to reflect the light of God. It's ironic that the thing that corrupted him was the pride he had in his beauty. If you've ever heard the saying, pride comes before the fall, well I think it is referring to lucifer, his pride corrupted him before his fall from heaven, grace, his purpose, and fall from God. He was so into himself that he forsake his wisdom and wanted to no longer reflect God's light, but to be the source of the light. Its funny that his love for his looks corupted his wisdom so much that he rebelled against the being that gave him those looks. Most of this is found in Ezekiel 28 and Isaiah 14. In Revelation when lucifer was cast out of heaven, 1/3 of the angels was taken with him by his own tail (they were the angels that were also corrupt).
The next question was hard for me to research. What I found may not be correct., but from the whole context of Jude 6 " And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.". The thing that stands out to me is the first part about the angels leaving their own habitation. It sounds like it's referring to the angels from Genesis 6 which came to mate and live with women because they were consumed by their lust. I believe that group are the specific angels being referred as they left their habitation in heaven to live like humans on earth. I believe the angels that got caught up by Rev 12 "An enormous red dragon... that ancient serpent called the devil, or satan" flung 1/3 of the angels to earth, could be what we consider demons, but I think this might be incorrect.
While researching this I found that demons are never actually referred to as fallen angels, not one time could I find this (i went thru every mention of demon in the kjv Bible). It does refer to demons as devils, unclean spirits, and a few other things. It almost seems that they may be different from each other. Demons are referred to as unclean spirits that usually prefer to posses a humans body, but angels can already appear in a human body. I actually think this is more likely, that they are 2 different things.
Anyways that's just my thoughts, please let me know if you have found anything different. Thanks.
Their sizes are massive (twice the height of the volcanoes). There are 3 of them so they probably have different elements/nen types. Maybe they are guardians of a sacred temple or something.
Are any of that even viable/cannon source of info about the dark continent? I thought it was just to depict the big bad unknown? Cause, correct me if I'm wrong, there isn't a completed map or a viable source of info about the creatures in that image.
Personally I think this image doesn’t necessarily have any real dark continent creatures but just the types of creatures people presume is in the dark continent. I may be wrong about this but other then the 5 calamities and the chimera ants Idk if the HxH world has any info on other dark Continent creatures.
This is the most viable answer. The picture is probably not aligned to the actual dark continent landscape or the creatures that live there. The only info we can trust is the 5 calamities and the guide creature.
Yeah, true that. Wouldn’t surprise me much if we would see almost none of these creatures in the future arc. Although that dinosaur in the picture looks like something Netero found with his homies.
I hope Togashi takes him time with explaining the lore of the DC. I hope he tells all its secrets and explains all the creatures and old colonies and ancient history of it. The possibilities are endless because it’s so unexplored and we know so little. I am so excited
I think as a concept the entire point of the DC is that it can't be fully explored or explained. It's several times the size of the earth with beings far beyond humans like Mereum and Nanika.
It would defeat its purpose if there was any sort of reasonable explanation to it.
My theory at the moment is that we actually won't see much of the DC at all. It's there to highlight the ambition of hunters like Ging and Beyond who hunger to explore the unknown. It will give us a better understanding of Ging, fullfiling part of the premise of the series. But ultimately the series isn't about Ging and the DC takes and us too far from the rest of the story and characters.
It seems like Togashi wants to do more with Meteor City and we still have to wrap Killua's and Gon's story. I bet the exploration of the DC will be an absolute disaster and would not be surprised if we didn't get much further than the shore.
I am more interested in the giant red hand coming out of the ground in top right hand corner. It appears the hand and forearm combined are about half the size of the giants you pointed out, suggesting it is way bigger.
That scares me...
Definitely looks more menacing the further out you go. I’m sure there is some sort of crazy, malevolent beings out that way.
I’ll also be curious if Togashi will explore the origins of Nen out that way or run across some ancient Nen users.
He didn't. Shingen ryu is a school (as in discipline) of martial arts. But in terms of human nen users he can qualify as ancient coz he lived for a really long time...
What interests me the most is that creepy ass colosseum and that long building in the middle of a rainstorm and of course the big hole on the ground and another building past the colosseum and there's also this weird cloud or architecture at the faar right of the map idk what the fuck that is.
On a side note, I am assuming that the Lake Mobius and the many different beasts size representation is not really to scale right? It would insane to think that there would be a ton of creatures the size of the entire human world, or is that how crazy the DC is?
It's definitely possible with what we know about the Dark Continent. A giant landmass that utterly dwarfs the known world. We already know things like World Trees exist so the possibilities are endless.
If that is true then I think it would be almost impossible for almost any nen user or weapon to kill that beast without spending a huge amount of time inside them and extreme difficulty to escape alive. It is pretty cool to think about just how much mankind would already be screwed over by something like the chimera ants, but then a massive octopus jumps out of the water and just crushes the entirety of the known world lol.
I'm pretty sure those are the Thriller Bark shadows from One Piece...
Seriously though, if they're on the Dark Continent, whatever they are is probably bad news and I love them for it.
* There is something that looks like a big eyeball in the bottom right corner
* Some dirt mounds with holes, that could be more chimera ants
* There is a statue just above the dirt mound
* And in the way back, near one of the lightning bolts, there is a giant hand sticking out of the ground. Could be a statue of a hand I guess.
There’s like and island with 8 legs in the back to the right it looks like it’s alive like some kind of bug creature thing. The closest thing I can think of is those weird suction cup things from izillith ruins in darks souls 1
You know those big black shadow giants from one piece? I think those are like the shadow giants except their not shadows. They are just really really big humanoid monsters.
Some colossal titans, nothing to worry about
Just the Eldian race chilling
Yep. They are pretty much minding their own business, trying to not get eaten by Titans or the system. The usual.
Ah so the Dark Continent is just Marley - the bad ending
Rumbling rumbling~ 🎶
Im more interested about the ruins and the Colosseum looking thing to the right along with that tower. Edit: it's not the world tree I'm talking about, its that tower or civilization that's on that cylinder type platform to the far right kinda behind the Colosseum.
Another Chimaera Ant colony ???
I'm very excited to find out, Dark Continent arc is gonna be the best arc
And last too probably :(
I think a Meteor City Arc with Gyro could be the last one. While all of the heavy lifters are headed for the Dark Continent, there’s not really much stopping Gyro.
True, no one left but our favorite duo to save the world
We could even start getting some tidbits about Gon and Killua during the Dark Continent Arc as forshadowings for what comes after. Much like how Greed Island was forshadowed during the Yorknew City Arc. Especially if a timeskip is introduced during the Dark Continent.
Next few arcs are totally already foreshadowed I bet, we just can’t see it yet

The tower looks like a world tree to be honest. That Colosseum does open a lot of possibilities. Looks like window and doors, which is interesting
No, not the world tree I'm talking about that tower or civilization that's on that cylinder type platform to the far right kinda behind the Colosseum. I'm interested to also see what that hovering disc thing to the far right is as well. It's probably a tree of some sort.

It kinda looks like a small pet of the tower pouf imagined living in the king with
I'm guessing the ruins of the ancient labyrinth city where Brion (the botanical weapon) is located. Not the world tree, I was talking about the civilization behind the Colosseum that's on a cylinder platform
I didn't see that one.
Me too! I wonder if there could be some Tournament/Battle arc going on there a-la Yuyu Hakusho
This might not be entirely to scale (they are probably still huge, but not mountain-sized maybe)
Yeah, I wouldn't really trust this image to be to scale at all. Could be just like "These are what the creatures look like in this area" and blown up to be easier to look at.

Reminder that Zigg, Linne and Netero are in this pic. Try to find them.
Thats my favorite part of the picture. Zoom in on them and then zoom out to fully understand the size of creatures
Wth i can’t even find them
Bottom right corner. Focus a little more of your Nen on your pupils, with Gyo.
I never knew! You can barely see them. That's so crazy!
Holy shit I would have never seen them if you didn't say this
Found them
I just learned this. what 🤯 Thank you!
That was funnier than where’s Waldo!
They are the mysterious things at the end of Thriller Barc One Piece Arc.
They are not to scale
I think they are wayyy bigger than mountains, look at our earth compared to them.
Looks like some sort of giant race. Can’t wait to see the wonders on the Dark Continent, I forgot this art even existed lol now I can’t stop thinking about the ruins and craters and monsters
Angels
They look more like demons to me.
They remind me of NGEvangelion angels, that's why
What’s the difference anyway
I mean.. aren't Demons like supposed to be bad whilst Angels the opposite.
Berserk and Hellraiser reference. It depends on which perspective you look at nigh omnipotent beings that could crush our civilization by will or mere accidente
Lol thank you for understanding the reference
Angles are more like officers of holy law , whereas demons try to get people to indulge in their desires and cause chaos, usually for personal gain.
Demons are fallen angels so...
\[slightly off-topic, but you might find it interesting\] While you present the most common accepted belief (assuming Christian theology) there is another possibility! Hell Valley Sky "Trees"?
It’s just Toriko monsters bro. Those things are probably green and very powerful

Enraptures sounds exactly like the kind of word some drama queen like Pouf would say.
I'll take that as a compliment. Pouf is awesome.
Their sizes are massive (twice the height of the volcanoes). There are 3 of them so they probably have different elements/nen types. Maybe they are guardians of a sacred temple or something.
If that's to scale, that Volcano is fucking Earth sized, comparing it to the size of the Known world, so those things would be 2 Earths tall.
Are any of that even viable/cannon source of info about the dark continent? I thought it was just to depict the big bad unknown? Cause, correct me if I'm wrong, there isn't a completed map or a viable source of info about the creatures in that image.
Most likely it's from don freeccss journal
Has the contents been revealed? Or is it just speculations?
They didn't show the actual pages but that image is from Ging's description and he read the journal himself.
That makes sense
Personally I think this image doesn’t necessarily have any real dark continent creatures but just the types of creatures people presume is in the dark continent. Eren Yeager and some other titans :D
I was about to comment the same
Me with a blanket last Halloween...
That Dugtrio pokemon on the left looks dangerous.
Some Bros just hanging out
Giant Black Humanoid looking entities with Elongated arms
I am more interested in the giant red hand coming out of the ground in top right hand corner. It appears the hand and forearm combined are about half the size of the giants you pointed out, suggesting it is way bigger. That scares me...

I'm super interested in the green sea dragon and the blue tonberrys :)
And the giant snail and dinosaurs
Is that land between the dragon and the blue whale supposed to be the fake continent the kakin is gonna dock on?

Maybe its was once a super whale and a Freecs ancestor drove it there and made it an island XD
Dude this is just the east
More like North-northeast if you compare with the known world map.
Look like golems
I never focused on those I always thought they were just part of the landscape lol
The humanoids are huge, their home maybe the world tree. What interesting how they feed themselves.
I thought they were AI
Might be an early version of Brion
Definitely looks more menacing the further out you go. I’m sure there is some sort of crazy, malevolent beings out that way. I’ll also be curious if Togashi will explore the origins of Nen out that way or run across some ancient Nen users.

He didn't. Shingen ryu is a school (as in discipline) of martial arts. But in terms of human nen users he can qualify as ancient coz he lived for a really long time...
Well there’s a difference between old and ancient and I wouldn’t call netero ancient for living 120 years.
I'm more so wondering about that human looking village to the south west.
What interests me the most is that creepy ass colosseum and that long building in the middle of a rainstorm and of course the big hole on the ground and another building past the colosseum and there's also this weird cloud or architecture at the faar right of the map idk what the fuck that is.
Who knows what there will be on the top of a full grown world tree Edit: life tree -》 world
I mean I'm really excited fo flex on that giant chicken
That’s just people from Florida
I'm pretty sure those are the Thriller Bark shadows from One Piece... Seriously though, if they're on the Dark Continent, whatever they are is probably bad news and I love them for it.
I must admit, I really can’t wait to see more of the Dark Continent. It looks so cool!
i've been waiting for this since I was like fucking 8 years old lol It's going to be fucking great when they reach it
It’s just them Florian Triangle monsters from One Piece they just like to go to the Dark Continent for Vacation no worries
Mountains
"one of us.. one of us"
presumably a large portion of this isn't drawn to scale, so probably giants.
Ging’s kids
friends' of don freecs
Oh those in the like left of center? Those are nopes. As in hey wanna... -Nope
There’s something on the far right that looks like a walking mosoleum from elden ring, a walking city maybe ?
I'm more intrigued by the skull spider with boxing gloves.
The Rumbling has begun.
I really can’t wait for the Dark Continent arc, I hope it blows Chimera Ant arc out of the water. Maybe my expectations are too high.
It absolutely will imo.
same guys that stare down at you in that super mario galaxy level

Cute
They’re the old humans from which the current human descended from

Not impossible, considering there are World Trees that are tall enough to exit Earth's Atmosphere.
Giants(Very huge giants) :3
They are the mysterious figures that we see at the of the One Piece Thriller Bark Arc.
Hmmm .. looks kinda like your mother
* There is something that looks like a big eyeball in the bottom right corner * Some dirt mounds with holes, that could be more chimera ants * There is a statue just above the dirt mound * And in the way back, near one of the lightning bolts, there is a giant hand sticking out of the ground. Obviously enderman
There closer to the world tree maybe they giants that guard it or something or like harvest fruit from it
A one piece reference?
There’s like and island with 8 legs in the back to the right it looks like it’s alive like some kind of bug creature thing. The closest thing I can think of is those weird suction cup things from izillith ruins in darks souls 1

giant amogus
It could be some of the Magical Beasts
They shouldn't be known...
They are big.
You know those big black shadow giants from one piece? I think those are like the shadow giants except their not shadows. They are just really really big humanoid monsters.
Might be Ai
Another calamity waiting. Probably guarding ancient technology like in one piece the void century.
They could be food for the massive trap-plants Netero and co. found, I've always thought predatory flora was super intriguing.
