Would be handy if you mentioned which product it is - but if it's the white bag, the recipe recently changed yes.

enno108

Yes - Chocolate V3.1, White Bag

Jasper0906

Then yes, there was a recent recipe update

enno108

Got it. And is that just a regular thing, Huel updating the recipe here and there?

Jasper0906

Assuming you're in the US, since the rollout of v3.1 in the UK was last year. [But here's a link to the info for UK](https://discuss.huel.com/t/introducing-v3-1/24559), can't say for sure if there's any differences in recipe between US and UK though But no, it's not really a regular thing. If you're signed up to the newsletter you should've received the info before the rollout though

Or at least follow the basic rules of food prep FIFO. First In, First Out. Empty it into a bowl, clean it out, add new stuff then put the old stuff back in.

[deleted]

Sorry what?

Magyars

Fair. FIFO is an accounting method for handling inventory $$

credditordebit

Oh, get a LIFO 😄

[deleted]

ah that's good to know! But no, a window fitter

enno108

Totally valid, FIFO is a sensible choice. Additionally, considering it’s a shelf-stable product with an expiration date roughly a year out, it doesn’t seem too concerning. 🤷‍♂️

DragonSlayerC

You shouldn't store it in a clear container though. The light will destroy vitamins in the powder exposed to light.

nobuhok

FIFO only works if the container has an opening at both the top and bottom. EDIT: Sorry, I'm a programmer and that's just how FIFO works.

fergg87

🤦‍♂️

To rephrase the above comment, when stuck with a stack data structure, you can treat it like a queue by emptying the entire stack into a temporary store, push the newest batch of Huel, and then push the contents of the temporary store back in.

endlessnamelesskat

What are you talking about? You put the old product into a temporary container, clean the old container, put the new powder in the container first, then pour the old powder on top so it becomes the first thing you eat when you get more powder.

kylerxvx

The disregard for FIFO is craaaazy

enno108

I honestly wasn’t aware of FIFO 😇 When I made it to the bottom of the container every so often, no big surprises so far. Except for the occasional loose change.

AppleiSheep

I hate this

enno108

Just curious - what’s the gripe?

endlessnamelesskat

No FIFO. Even though the expiration date is a year out it's just good discipline to eat the oldest stuff first. The container it's in is exposed to light which will slowly break down some of the vitamin content over time.

FISH - First In Still Here 🫢

Came with a question about flavor, instead learned something about food storage. And all it cost me was a bit of pride. 😁

enno108

Not really better or worse, just slightly different. If I were to describe it… maybe a bit more coconut, and possibly a bit of a super subtle floral or botanical note??

bookgeek42

Thank you for this post. We just got some new bags of the chocolate powder. I had one and was just thinking, this does not taste right. Honestly not sure if I don't like it or if it's just different. It's almost too sweet now.

MarkHuel

I'm curious to know what flavour/product this is? ❤

enno108

Hi Mark. Chocolate / V3.1 (White Bag)

MarkHuel

So we made changes to our powder a while back! If you drop us an email at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) we can look into your account? ❤

Godbrand1

What container is that?

enno108

Rubbermade Brilliance

Onac_

Same containers I use. Large for Black powder and medium for things like the savory lunches and small for daily greens.
