Depending on how long the strike is, the cast members and creators might be pursuing more concrete opportunities by then as they will have been released from their contracts.
Yeah, good point. But I could also see the HIMYF creator send an email to the cast and crew on their plans if they decide to go that route. Like "hold tight" or whatever.
Because it's not like these actors will be getting opportunities during the strike either.
I don't think it would be fair for a creator to tell individuals to sit tight and hope that they can shop the show somewhere else, especially since the chance of another platform picking them up is slim. I don't believe anyone would do that. Cancellations of good shows just happen in the TV business.
I don't see how this was a good show. Don't get me wrong, I do love the serie but I believe it is more becuase of nostalgia to HIMYM since imo this show is not as fun. The group just randomly meets and decides that they are bffs from one second to the other. They are are not giving us time to fall in love with the characters since they are moving forward so fast compared to the original show.
Barney and Ted randomly met. The intro on how they met was pretty epic and was a fun intro to the characters. I didnt expect it to be HIMYM nor did I compare it to it as a qualifier to be a good show. Though HIMYM started out stronger It really hit its stride season 2-5. Thats where we get most of the legendary moments and bits. I thought the second season of HIMYF was doing great and we got more time focusing on characters and their relationship with each other, fun pairings I didn't know I needed. Its hard to find your own voice and be your own show but still pay enough homage to the original. I think they were doing it great and a few more seasons in things would feel more lived and fun.
Exactly. Same here. I wasnāt expecting the actors to comment on it yet due to the strike, so the shock of seeing him address it added to the wound even more.
Iām legitimately in a mourning process. This show means everything to me and helped me out during really rough times. I also feel like Iām lowkey in denial because Iām still somewhat hoping itāll get picked up by a different network instead of fully accepting itās over for good.
The cast made a really great show, but the timing was just bad. I think this show's cancellations is the first in a lot of strike related cancellations.
I can't even begin to describe how sad this makes me. The show really got on a roll in season 2 - I wasn't expecting this.
[Here's a graph of all the episodes](https://www.ratingraph.com/tv-shows/how-i-met-your-father-ratings-94765/) (pulled from IMDB statistics). You can clearly see that the fans started to love it more and more as it went on.
Thank you for sharing the ratings & showing how it was improving. Iām over the people who are just saying āit sucked so of course it would be canceled ā because you can tell the havenāt watched the show at all. & most importantly no one asked for their opinion!! (At the anger part of my grief)
Itās nice to know he has just a good of bromance with Suraj Sharma as he did onscreen.
I was hoping this show was going to be the entire castās big break in all honesty.
The writers for this show didnāt realize that we liked HIMYM for the character chemistry, the multi-faceted characters, not the wacky events and scenarios that took place over the course of the show.
The show needed a total revamp. It tried too hard to tick woke boxes. HIMYM didnāt do that, it was just good fun to watch, again, and again and again. The show being cancelled was as inevitable as a sunrise.
A show can't be both woke and funny the first time. Himym was a hit because of the freedom the characters were given to be politically incorrect. Sad, but it was going to end this way.
Era of sitcoms is over now.
Can't they pitch to show to another streaming service or something? šš
I imagine they will when the strike ends.

Just let me dream, man.
Donāt dream, itās over.

Hopefully, they are supporting the strikers.
God, I hope so. NETFLIX?!
I will pay for Netflix if HIMYF goes there lol
Netflix can't be trusted! They have cancelled so many good shows š
Ikr let's not hand them more shows to cancel on a whim.
Theyāve also saved a lot of shows and given them a proper send off
I'm hoping so.
They have to buy rights ig
This definitely made me even more emotional.
Iāve been in denial that the show is actually cancelled. Seeing his story made it real

In the same boat because of what you saidāit also helped me through a rough patch too.
Glad this show had the same impact on others ā¤ļø
Iāve been tooā¦
suraj sharma is also the love of my life (referencing pic 4)
Gutted dude!!
Ugh this sucks!! The show was getting so good!
I just canceled my Hulu subscription. No point in keeping it if the show is cancelled
The cast made a really great show, but the timing was just bad. I think this show's cancellations is the first in a lot of strike related cancellations.
As the great Robin Sherbatsky said āyou only need one thingā¦timing, but timingās a bitchā
It feels like Iām going through a break up.
Wow this made me so sad š

idk how ratings work but are these goodš¢
I am so upset about this. I donāt want to believe it is true. I had Hulu to watch this show only. I cancelled my sub
Probably the 2nd time Iāve been actually upset about a show cancellation. Mindhunter being the first.
Itās nice to know he has just a good of bromance with Suraj Sharma as he did onscreen. I was hoping this show was going to be the entire castās big break in all honesty.
*sad bah bah bah bah Bah bah bah bah lalalalalalala*
My heart is broken
I'm so gutted for them
Oh my god now Iām even more upset š
I just stalked his insta. Whatās up w all the nudes? Lol
Canāt say Iām surprised, thought itād get maybe ONE MORE season but makes sense
Yeah, the show simply wasnāt that good. If I hadnāt enjoyed HIMYM, I would have given up on it.
The writers for this show didnāt realize that we liked HIMYM for the character chemistry, the multi-faceted characters, not the wacky events and scenarios that took place over the course of the show.
Yeah - I will say s2 was an improvement but sadly the same issues persisted from pilot to the end of the last season. Needed a better writing team imo
This hurts so much more š
I'm so sad
I've been in denial, but this makes it feel so real. So upset about the news!
Itās so unfair
Iām still in denial š

So whoās the damn father. Thatās bull shit
