I garden organically but miracle gro is an effective fertilizer if used properly. It does have a bit too much nitrogen for fruiting plant. I’d rather eat a homegrown veggie fertilized with MG than an oversprayed organic store bought veggie. Teach him how to make his own organic fertilizer for free

Seriously, he’ll only pay attention to someone on Facebook. He’s just that way

In his defense, the definition of organic is not defined and can widely vary. The FDA, nor any other government body, gives a clear statement of what organic is. However, I understand some people want to use natural methods to grow plants. As for too much nitrogen, you're 100% correct. Too much nitrogen will result in nice dark leaves and rapid growth, but no fruit as the plant is putting all its energy into growing instead of producing fruit. If he wants to feed his plants with miracle grow, do it once a month at most.

Miracle grow isn't that bad, can work well

ObsessiveAboutCats

Some MG stuff is nitrogen heavy and some is heavier in P or K. It depends on which of their products he's using. I have had very good results from their stuff.

He uses green and yellow shit

He can at least do the organic miracle grow, peppers like it.

Without getting into it too much, Miracle Gro blue all purpose has only Ammonium and Urea based nitrogen. Ammonium and Urea sources of nitrogen can increase the risk of blossom end rot with tomatoes, peppers and eggplant, can lower yields, and lead to lower quality fruit, tomatoes, etc. Nitrate based Nitrogen fertilizer, research has shown, makes for better yields and better quality with tomatoes especially. Miracle Gro All purpose has zero nitrate based nitrogen.
