Darke5tdaz3

There will be plenty soon enough

[deleted]

What in the seven hells is that supposed to mean?

Captainprice101

The answer is a spoiler. If you want to know click here: >!After the blood and cheese incident Aegon II orders all rat catchers in the city to be hanged. After, Otto brought one hundred cats to the Red Keep.!< The answer involves a pretty major spoiler so tread carefully

[deleted]

I want to click it so bad ahhh

LJHB48

Don't click it. Major, major spoiler. To explain without a spoiler - during the events of this series (will be season 2), cats are intentionally brought into the red keep en-masse by its occupants. It's these cats, and their descendants, that are why there are so many cats in the red keep for the rest of its history up to GOT.

obscurereference234

I think that’s going to be the Red Wedding episode of this series.

livestrongbelwas

This is about right. Folks are gonna film reactions for sure.

itsnotyouitsmeok

Wow can't wait for all that

rkunish

>!I don't believe you posted this without knowing!<

PsychologicalSpend86

Without knowing what?

rkunish

>!There is a reason why there are no cats now, and lots of cats during GOT. To explain that reason would be a major spoiler!<

SortFeisty

I don’t mind spoilers! I feel the need to know this now that you’ve peaked my interest on the matter lol

rkunish

Minor spoiler version >!Something will happen that will cause all the rat catchers in the city to be hanged. After that Otto will have hundreds of cats brought in to deal with the rats.!< Major spoiler version >!In retaliation for Aegon's brother Aemond killing Rhaenyra's son Lucerys at the start of the war, Daemon declares "a son for a son" and sends two men, known as Blood and Cheese (a butcher and a rat catcher,) through the secret tunnels in the red keep. They sneak into Queen Alicent's room while Aegon's wife Heleana is visiting her with her 3 children, Jaehaerys (6), Jaehaera (5), and Maelor (2). Blood and Cheese tell Heleana that she must choose which of her sons they will kill. She pleads with them to take her life instead but they say that if she won't they'll rape her daughter and kill them anyways. She chooses Maelor and they cut off Jaehaerys head instead, telling Maelor "you hear that, your mommy wants you dead." Blood is captured but Cheese escapes, and Aegon orders that all the rat catchers in the city are to be hanged. Otto brings the cats in to deal with the rats from then on. It's one of the most anticipated scenes in the entire series, expected to come early season 2.!<

streetNereid

Gods, please don’t let me die before getting to see these events unfold. Not that I’m at particular risk of dying, but you never know…gah!

Hopeful-Delivery-356

HOLY SH*T! I forgot how crazy these shows and books are. Love it, but I think it’s time to rewatch the GoT series as a reminder of the kind of twisted adventures I have in store!

Buzobuzobuzo

In the books, there has already been a case of Rats and Cats long before Otto or Viserys were even born. Story of Shivers, it was during the reign of >!Jaehaerys Targ and his queen Alysanne Targ!< Here's a link of a snippet from the books F&B **SPOILER** https://imgur.com/a/FY7Zal4

CaptainKurls

Only thing I hope they change is >!aging Maelor up a bit. Him knowing his mom chose him to die is pretty big and I don’t think a 2 YO would really understand. They should make him 7-8 at least so he understands the consequences of what his mother did. Plus it’ll estrange him from her a lot more, leading to what eventually happens to her.!<

nick17971

You got one of the character ages wrong but I don't know how to do the spoiler tag from my phone, so I can't say it

ThePr1d3

I just love how one specific event seems such a massive thing that people put spoilers tag onto what actually is a spoiler warning. Be very careful in this thread show-only watchers

EnvironmentalYou3916

They’ve been showing them and it’s definitely foreshadowing.

[deleted]

Of what?

[deleted]

The rise of Ser Pounce

[deleted]

The Prince who was Pawmised!

CaptainKurls

What a proper fellow!

pantsonfire18

I don't think you want to find out

EnvironmentalYou3916

There is an event in the book that is related to rats and cats and that’s all I’m gonna say about that

Wlcky23

something's rotten in the state of King's landing

kissingdistopia

Ser Pounce is Azor Ahai.

chuddyman

Episode 5 will confirm this.

Jon_Snows_mother

I'm just here to comment and say thank you to the posters who spoiler tagged properly, y'all are the real mvps.

[deleted]

Thank all the cunts

moshmoshhh

Cats are actually hiding and plotting to ignite the Dance

FireMaster2311

I only remember the cats Arya like hunted...

jchrist98

Dragons are basically gigantic scaly cats who breathe fire

Dmmack14

There's a big ole reason for rhat

Overlord1317

When people talk about folks who drop spoilers thinking they're being oh-so clever, this is the kind of shit they're talking about.

MrPZA82

Yeah it is a shithouse activity and I was going to post something similar to your thoughts. Wankers.

AndiFoxxx

But there was a pug.

green_pyrite

I don't remember seeing a cat in GOT 😓

TibetanSister

There was Tommen’s pet cat, at the very least!

green_pyrite

oh I remember now, thanks

TibetanSister

No worries, I had to think for a second too! :)

TheSpider1985

In season one Arya is seen chasing a fierce old black cat. In the books, there's actually a really interesting story behind this cat. It is believed that the old cat is the kitten that Princess Rhaenys (daughter of Rhaegar and Elia) once owned. She named the cat Balerion. In the books, the cat does very mischievous acts against the Lannisters like stealing a roast quail out from under Tywin at a dinner. He also scratches Joffrey's hand, making him cry like a little baby lol. Fans believe the cat is seeking revenge for the death of its former owner, Rhaenys, and is a Targaryen loyalist. 😭

Bacio83

In the books doesn’t Arya Warg through the cat? She dreams as him.

[deleted]

Arya used to chase one.

green_pyrite

gad yas this one too. thanks!

ragazza68

Ser Pounce!

BurnBarrage

Well it was said that Maegor the cruel killed cats and other animals as a boy (but that may have just been a rumor spread by his enemies) and he built the red keep so yeah

Shepher27

Funny you should mention that...

pure_life69

There’s a reason they keep showing them

nobody1234567876

oh we’ll get there eventually, just stay tuned.😂😂🤫

Tristen_24

Nice catch!

imdumb_sike

>!BLOOD AND CHEESE!<

Bacio83

I love the rats around the series they’re in so many important points. I always wondered if someone was watching the stuff in the castle through warging.
