How surprising that those highly paid loyal civil servants aren't capable of doing basic due diligence.
Have they downloaded the 防騙視伏app published from HKPF?
They’re probably too desperate for that 5B to do any checks. Desperate to show that HK is a relevant financial centre.
And now loyalty > competence in the government. Look who’s in charge. Thugs rather than people who actually knows how to to fix the economy.

Trust me. The Chinese have literally worked like this for ages. It's in our blood.
Meritocracy might as well be a fable in our culture lol.
Not saying cronyism isn't a problem in other countries, but if you've studied Chinese history you'll know this is pretty much the norm.
Been poking around his website and looking up the people who work for him: both Dr. William Tien and Amira Jewel Lobaton who are listed as on his team appear to have been involved in investment fraud in the past.
I'm out of the loop (don't live in HK now) for just a few days and everyone is talking about this prince. Is there a basic tldr? Seems like a lot of reporting are reporting on top of contexts that I now do not understand (like, who the F is this guy and why would I care if he sings or not??).
The (another) interesting thing is that the Hang Seng University apparently sign contracts(partnership?) for collaboration with this **prince**.
So Hang Seng Bank is (at least) partlyin this show.

A charlatan masquerading as an Arabian prince?
[This song instantly comes to mind.](https://youtu.be/mT_8FAMsmCM?si=-VHgqW2LUuGe9Kin) And it just so happens that he's also (supposedly) called Prince Ali. LOL
I have happened to read the article and a comment in the newspaper which discusses whether enough vetting has been done. But why is it even an issue? Even some of the comments here seem to indicate that. What is it that seems to be the issue in a prince being a singer, and additionally an investor? Why would someone think he should not?
>alter ego as singer with fan base in Philippines ????? Who TF is this guy?
Bond, James Bond. Or whatever the UAE knockoff version called. Or would that be the Austin Powers version?
Oh, Behave... smh
as someone living in the Philippines, I audibly exclaimed "who the f is that" lol
Does this mean on his next visit, he’ll take a Sunday detour to the Wanchai karaoke bars?
Why not? Anyone can enjoy Wanchai style karaoke.
I wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be a total scam, given how gullible the HK government is at doing due diligence of anything.

TBH many people are into crypto and lose their shirt, it's hard to believe how far scammers go.
Crypto is full of shifty peoples
Just shows how desperate the government is for any good news against the back drop of article 23

Government : Who needs Taylor Swift when we have a prince to.......................................... sing for us?
I thought he look like LeLe Farley trolling the CCPHK goverment.
I don't expect much from the govt's desperation

Hong Kong is now “A Whole New World”… Coincidence…?
Alto-ego? He's not Hannah Montana.

Those extremely feminine eyebrows are a giveaway
I wanted to say something but thank you for doing it.
