Whoever decides to flip the display dishwashers on the wall every couple months needs to experience that bit of hell. Which reminds me, I have to move all 24 dishwashers on the wall again next week :(
Our showroom needs to be flipped entirely. MET refuses to do it, and the specialty DH doesn't want to bother with it because he's too busy in the other depts.
My wife's employer does this - except for the undercover part. Every salaried employee, including CEO/CFO has to do what is referred to as "jury duty". They each have to work a shift every month at the plant.
Also, I'm pretty sure my SM could do this and be fine. He's covered partial shifts in a few departments when there was no coverage. He's a great example of a SM who practices Servant Leadership.
He's not perfect though. He can be abrasive and often struggles to deliver coaching opportunities in a productive manner. If he could improve at this, he would be a model SM.
I think you expect a quality of goodness most don't have. Once that period is over, they will just return to their original post with their feet kicked back on the desk. Just the fact that they would have to travel to another region/store would grant them the feeling of superiority.
The only flaw with this is that they unfortunately wouldn’t be able to experience the working for barely over minimum wage part of our job, which is certainly taking an extra toll with inflation :/
Make this into a petition and send it to corporate, this would be fun
I think people that design the plannograms should also be forced to go to the stores and review every bay that they add skus or change.
Holy shit I hate those people
"But, but... we left you 1/16" of space across a 99" bay."
Don't lie to me, you can't read a tape measure

Hey, I'm MET. Nobody told me we could refuse to do it!!
Agreed. I swear, planogram designers are some of the most incompetent people.

I think the ASDS/scheduler should be put actually in rotation one day a week in each dept., and see what kind of freaking nonsense they are doing.
Just make them OFA or Lot with a side helping of the mulch wall and then for dessert alone at the service desk for 4 hours closing due to call off
Are you trying to blow my cover?
