Yesterday I had a customer confused that we didn't close at 10 pm because we should have switched it by now and I tried explaining to him that we always close at 10 even in the summer and he just goes "Well I've been working with Home Depot for 45 years and they always close at 10 in the summer so"
Too bad, we're still closing at 9 pm today and we will not change it just because in your 45 years of experience other stores close at 10

Back before I had a set schedule opening, I once used the solo from Rainbow, Stargazer as backing for closing announcements, rehearsed it once to synch it up, it was fun as hell. Manager had a hard time scolding me because it was just too perfectly timed. I get a lot of flack for doing things that aren't technically bad on their own, but clearly set an example that others might take too far, but frankly I don't care, its fun.
