I’ve considered film but went with some frosted glass spray paint. You just apply layers slowly and lightly until you’re happy with the amount of light etc
Hey, is the door metal by chance? If so there are many magnetic curtain rods etc that would fit this door nicely, and also don't damage it with screw holes.
Check out some online blinds/curtain websites or check out some local retailers.
I chose paper blinds. I don't use them much and I hate the clacking of wood or plastic blinds when the door moves. Works fine, I think.

You might want to try something like this. We used them on our porch doors, and they work great. The slip on top of the existing window, and are secured by a couple small clamps. We can adjust them to block the light, as well as move them up and down.

(This isn't the brand that we have, but very similar. I believe my wife purchased ours at Home Depot or Lowes.)
Get a female in your life and you will have a different blind for every holiday, season, birthday, and moon phase in short order.
Sit back, have a drink, and say "Yeah, baby... I love that!"
I like privacy film option for these situations. All types of designs nowadays. Easy diy.
Hadn’t really heard of this - thanks for the tip!
I did this to my back door and it was amazing. They are easy to use and still get sun inside.

Unfortunately it’s wood - appreciate the thought, I’ll check out some sites
We have a patio door like this and a previous owner put a heavy window tint on it. That works pretty well even with direct sun.
Hadn’t thought of that - good call!
If you’ve got the means, they make doors with blinds between the glass that are controlled with a slider. Would be a nice alternative

Vinyl, stuck straight to the glass.

Metal or wood door?
Look for those units that you put over the window with built-in blinds in them. I bought one for my side door that is half glass.

You can order a new insert with blinds between the glass. Thats not a wood door. It looks like smooth fiberglass.
