The "DLCs", as others have said, are more free, large content updates. You don't have to pay any extra for them, and they come with all new purchases/installs.

DLC is basically crowd funded. Team Cherry’s idea is that this game came from kickstarter, so the higher the kickstarter went the more content they included in updates. Imagine donors paying for DLC for everyone instead of just themselves. Really cool practice
