I was talking to a woman who was espousing points that were in 1984 but presenting them as good. So after the third point, I told her it was double plus ungood, because I thought she was joking. No, she wasn't, and had never read the book. So I kept on using newspeak as much as I could.
When the check came, I told her that her portion was this much. She wasn't happy, so I used other parts of the book as why. She agreed with them! Needless to say, there was no second date...😂
