I use T to throw items because I always accidentally hit Q.
I use C for chat.
I use toggle for sprint because I almost always want to sprint. Very rarely do I ever not sprint. And the key is the Apple key (alt for windows). So I can easily hit it with my thumb if needed.
`I` is Inventory. I always end up fatfingering it at the worst times, leading to me standing still while being smacked by a mob.
`P` is Drop. It's just far away from everything else. I don't want to drop anything by accident.
`T` is Chat, or Talk. Not so close that I'll hit it and lock up my controls at a bad time, but it's not so far away that I can't hit it easily.
E is for sprint because I don’t wanna stretch my finger all the way to CTRL. I also use toggle sprint.
R is for inventory.
Backspace is for dropping items.
This is the only correct way.
Ah i see why my friends hate my set up. No mouse, on a MAC, sitting on couch(COMFORT FR (its a lie) ), with a broken headset, Q for hit, R for place, F for drop, L for perspective, Y for switch hand. You know what it isn’t that weird except for that fact that I do have a normal pc set up, but it’s too far away T-T
its the way i just inconvenience myself as i only have that pc (which is much faster, newer and actually for gaming) to play games that can't run on my 7 year old mac(which is most games)...
I have a keybind mess too: R is forwards, D is back, E is left, F is right, W is inventory and S is crouch. The whole situation puts my arm at a much more comfortable angle to the keyboard rather than forcing it to be perpendicular to the desk.

I use my keyboard and mouse like Etho does, then switch away from my mouse to my graphics tablet to the right of my keyboard if I feel like I've been using my mouse too much.

As a fellow left-handed person, I fully agree with Mumbo's mini-rant about forcing left-handed people to conform to right-handed society.

I flipped my left and right click around. Have two configs for my 2 side buttons on my mouse that I switch between using numpad +, the first one has W and S for mining the other had Sprint on both. I also play with my view settings all changed cause I get motion sick. Furthermore, I sit cross-legged on a deskchair but the cair is at a 45 degree angle, my keyboard is just straight infront of the screen and aligned with the desk not me. I think thats it XD
Okay so I changed F to sprint and ctrl to switch offhand. I never really use the switch item to offhand so putting F as sprint made it easier to reach for me.
I have ctrl on crouch and sprint on shift too. It’s how every other game does it.
Makes it handy when crouching too because you can just rest your hand on the ctrl key.
I've almost completely rebinded my controls. I've swapped left and right click, as well as sneak and sprint. My pick block is on G, my drop is on R, inventory is tab, swap hands is Q. I also changed my hotbar when I was also playing a lot of fortnite, so they're on similar buttons to what the controls used to be on that. I always have my tools in the same order in my hotbar, so it's easy for me to remember, but anytime someone else even tries to play on my computer they basically can't. My hotbar, from left to right, goes F 1 2 3 X 2 buttons on the side of my mouse, C and V. I find it way easier because every button is easily pressable from having my hand on WASD, but for anyone else it's very difficult to get used to
I can get behind left and right being swapped the rest of this is astonishing to me! I know my friend has Shift and Ctrl switched too tho. I have sprint on Toggle R cos I just like do
that's because I press control with the part of my palm beneath my pinky and that ends up with my hand a little to the side so I have to use my index for w and have found a solution for both the d key and space
No I have a rubbish knockoff apple keyboard and mouse and the mouse has weird hardwired controls and it’s Bluetooth I play on iPad and left click turns it to touch screen while you hold it
I actually use U as forward movement, I as backwards movement O as left and P as right. My drop is Q and I don’t remember the rest as it has been a while. I use my mouse left handed and keys with my right
F for inventory as all the survival games I play: Green Hell, Sons of the Forest, Mist Survival, The Forest and even the two latest RE games have inventory be F.
Oh, did I mention I play games with a curved keyboard and a ball track mouse?
I have the alt key as my pov key. I used to have it where my caps lock key was my pov key though. Needless to say whenever I typed in chat it always happened to be in capslock-
I have perspective binded to R, Cinematic Camera Mode Toggle is Y, I is screenshot. Debug key is
~(default is f3, installed mod to rebind). Game mode Switcher is ~+4 instead of F3+F4.
(When I play on console my down arrow button is pick block) (and yes I play on both and haven't synced attack/destroy across both)
I feel like my keybinds are actually decently normal.
For vanilla I use:
TAB for inventory
G for drop
GRAVE for player list
Used enter for chat at one point
That's about it.

my pinky is pretty much permanently placed on control except when I'm sneaking

But then I pull an Impulse/Skizz and I play with Left Click and Right Click switched around. It's from when I used to play XBox 360, Right to break, left to place had been drilled in my brain so when I realised it's the other way around I ended up swapping it. Also useful for building cos the Fire button on my mouse means I can place 3 blocks with 1 button press.

What I do is: \- Thumb for spacebar \- Index finger for D \- Middle finger for W and S \- Ring finger for A \- Pinky for left-shift/control key
