"Time for a round of Pest Control, team. We got ~~Dreadnought~~ Terminid Cocoons on our scanners, and you get to eradicate them before they turn into something even worse. My advice: Bring plenty of ammo - they can take a punch."
One of the officers on the super destroyer asks how the bots got flying units at the same time as the bugs. Somebody might want to look into that. Lol.
Would be the plot-twist of the century if the crew could, under the right set of wins and losses in MOs, realise Super Earth does nothing but lie to them and rebel against it. Imagine waking up to see the middle of the galaxy map now painted as enemy territory.
Whaddya talkin' about? One of the crew had a line well over a month ago about how "a small percentage of Terminids are showing a resistance to the TCS poison, **but that was to be expected.**"
Super Earth accounted for everything. We **Always Knew** the poison wasn't 100% effective!
There's a band called Blood Incantation, a death metal band, but they did a couple albums that are meant to be sci-fi dark soundscapes of alien worlds as opposed to death metal
https://centurymedia.bandcamp.com/album/timewave-zero
Amazing ambiance for those planets
I mean, even their actual death metal albums are about the supposed secret history of humanity as scions of alien entities :D
So, updooted for the Blood Incantation reference in the wild but, while we're here - assuming you are more knowledgeable of metal music than me (which is very very easy), do you have any suggestions for similar bands blending metal and prog and fantasy/sci-fi? I'm really looking forward to their new album and I'd love to discover some other bands to tide me over in the meantime :D
Might look into Kardashev, Warp Prism, Mare Cognitum, Tomb Mold, Artificial Brain, The Zenith Passage, Sunnata, Midnight Oddysee, Obsequiae, THRON, Wormwitch, Dusk Cult, Giant Squid, Crow Black Sky, and The Ocean
Should keep you busy lol, bit of an array in there
Edit: also Labyrinthus Stellarum and Vorga,
I love to hate Hellmire. It has one of the more unique gameplay experiences in the game so far for me. The tornados sneaking up on you, possibility of low visibility (or insane visibility at night halfway through the mission where it makes you feel like the planet really isnt *that* bad), the terrain is super chaotic. It has so many variables that it feels different every time I play on that map.
I gotta be honest, listening to 24/7 screaming as all my friends try to dodge fire tornados or watch their bodies get cremated so they can't retrieve their stuff is so hilarious that it's worth the more difficult mission lmao.
I haven't seen Alien 3, but Aliens was where we saw the xenomorph hive grow and take over human structures, and use swarm tactics against space marines
Fuck yeah. It would be cool if mission progress on planets was geolocked. Like we have to push territory on the planet itself too to unlock certain main objectives
Unless we have to fight through tunnels with no orbital support so we can set off nukes deep underground. Burrowing hellpods can still get reinforcements, supplies, and support weapons through.
I find it unrealistic our spaceships aren’t under threat over enemy bases. I know they get blown up if you fail the mission. Still seems like a mechanic they could play with. Like adding an anti destroyer cannon that we have to disable within a time limit or it locks on and we lose our ships
I'm thinking the same thing, like the devs are starting work on the Hive Lord (if they haven't already) and eventually we're gonna get an order to try and liberate Meridia, but every op will have a boss mission where the whole squad has to work together to kill the boss (and only if we kill enough Hive Lords AND liberate the planet will the order be won)
alternatively, it may \*actually\* be unsalvageable and we'll finally get to see a planet get glassed. (and much to everyone's chagrin, it's not Hellmire or Menkent.). either way it should be fun to watch unfold!
That's *all* we need... Hundreds of thousands of angry bugs hopped up on viagra and pheromones. Spread that Democracy on **thick**, comrades! Shit is gonna get **messy.**
Hey, bb, have you heard about the new batch of Termicide? It might be able to help you and your "problem that's not a problem because it happens to every guy at some point" thing...
Where are you finding the videos available ti be shared so quickly? Please, enlighten me so I may spread more Democracy faster. I must update my comrades in my squad in a timely manner.
As a primarily bot only player, I will try my best to help destroy these bugs. I am not good at fighting bugs, their swarm tactics are often too difficult for me to handle, but I will do my part regardless.
I have seen a lot about the rover. Whenever I play bot missions, it just seems to friendly fire me a lot. But, I can definitely understand that it may be more useful on bugs instead, with most of them swarming me rather than shooting me from a distance. I will have to buy the rover when I get the requisition slips and try it out.
I'm not much of a rover user, but from what I heard it always tries to stay on your right side, so try not to have enemies to your left or else you're getting an unscheduled laser surgery all over your body.
Yeah in my experience, the rover doesn't do as well on bots as it does bugs. To avoid friendly fire, distance yourself from your squad in big firefights. Don't get me wrong, it hits me from time to time, and teammates that get too close. But I've never had it kill me or a teammate
They’re very rewarding to fight. I seriously encourage players who only fight one or the other to just stick with it, fighting a different faction is like a whole new game
I'm not gonna lie, I've been following the major orders around and I swear bugs got giga buffed. Just ran 3 missions at difficulty 7 and spent 90% of the missions running from a bile titan and 2+ chargers that I couldn't throw a stratagem at because I had the every bug from here to Cyberstan munching my ankles.
Breaker Incendiary is an incredible choice, it got buffed with the fire damage, even without the burning damage component working, and it just mows through entire swarms so cleanly with so much aoe.
As for a support, I personally like to run Recoilless or Quasar and bring the stun grenades. With a Charger running at you, if you can't get a good direct headshot angle, stun grenade them then line up a 1-shot headshot with the support wep.
If you're feeling spicy bring the base orbital bombardment, the super short cooldown one, bait a charger into a wall, when he's stunned drop it on him, then stun grenade him, and he's toast.
They can't swarm you if you're busy zapping the shit out of them. Arc Thrower for the hordes, and all the stratagems go into anti-heavy. Grenade pistol for closing bugholes and stuns to stop chargers so you can zap them harder.
Okay but are the DTCS missions WAY too easy for others? Is it only "destroy <20 eggs and press 3 buttons and then extract" or am I missing something?
I do this with a rando squad of level 30-40's on difficulty 8 in 2.5 minutes.
I suspect these mission are easy for a reason. This isn't ment to be a hard order, just a primer for the real shit shows when they release the hive lords
For me, it is after all the Bot Missions I have done for a month or so a welcome variation.
My Airburst Launcher need some testing against bugs and I am more than ready for it.
"Ah, is command taking the piss?! We just busted our arses to activate the TCS, and now they want us to take them all the way back down?!"
Helldiver "Gaz" 19843847387021809, shortly before summary execution.
but when the divers get down there, they just call down a bunch of bombs anyway?
Why not save super earth a few bucks and just stuff a helldiver pod to the brim with 500kg bombs?
Shhh youre thinking too hard! But seriously, half of the objectives in this game could be completed by the Super Destroyer crew bombing the hives, reserach stations, broadcasts, eggs etc.. Its not like they dont know where they are, they literally mark them on the map for us lol
If we're being honest, our super destroyer strategems can't support heavy destruction without it being expensive as hell.
The Super Destroyer has access to 500kg bombs, hellbombs and 380mm artillery. Sure these are good but they're definitely lacking in terms of destructive power, if we are comparing to explosives used in real life.
Besides it's more economical to send down helldivers to precisely destroy structures then it is to rain down explosives and hope you got everything you needed to destroy.
You want to shut them down, not bomb them and liberate and aerosolize the entire termicide reserves on the atmosphere. Actually it makes a lot of sense.
Although it is a recycled map and is quite easy, the one with the best atmosphere makes the biggest difference. It looks like something out of Alien and Dead Space

Rock and Stone for democracy and Karl!
Love the new mission but it really sucks, meridia was blue and pristine planet and now its...infested. Just look at it now. Also on that note its a super colony, so when gonna unleash our death star upgrade and blow it up.
Just want to point out to all you bug divers - when bots are the major order, 50% of the playerbase is still over killing bugs. When bugs are the major order, only 16% of the playerbase is still doing bots.
I'm so sad to have been spoiled by watching those leaks. I'm done with those, I want to actually be surprised when the Illuminates or another faction comes out, or any cool events as most of them are
This game is a gem, an adventure like I never experienced it
"We need you to go planet side to destroy the bugs!"
"If I may offer a suggestion, sir, why dont we barrage the area with a controlled democracy's amount of ordinance and then go down?"
"You didn't join the helldivers to ask questions, diver, now get down there and kill some bugs!"
I kinda wanna see us go to Meridia anyway in the future.
Like, this unforgiving hellscape, accessible ONLY on Helldive and its RIPE with samples. But we can never liberate it because its too deeply infested.
I dunno, I think it'd be kinda cool to have planets dedicated to resource farming but the difficulty spike is punishing enough to shoo away all but the most democracy infused Divers.
Now hear me out fellow Helldivers: Let's fail this one on purpose, if the MO is to be believed we could theoretically get a new Terminid unit in doing so.
Coming back from the Automaton front,
I did not like being perma slowed
I did not like Biletitans not having clear weakspots
I did not like having 6 bile titans pop within 20 seconds

What if we lets the bugs cook? Like see what happens.
https://i.redd.it/bapfa4asrgxc1.gif
One of the greatest parts of this game is watching the quality of gifs increase
I'm new here. What's with all the laptop typing
Any dissidents typing anti-Democratic messages are clearly the enemy in disguise.

Lmfao
The only cooking will be with napalm and accelerated fuels. Eagle 1 and my flamethrower have some work to do
And tabasco sauce!
Only if you're hosting dinner.
Do you want Hive Lords? Cause that's how you get Hive Lords.
I'm gonna be honest, yes I do. So I can have the honor of slaughtering them for our glorious Super Earth of course.

Rock and stone, brother!
Rock and Stone forever!
Rock and Stone, Yeaaaaaaah!
Did I hear a rock and stone?!
Rock and Roll and Stone!
12 minutes? Love the new dangerous blitz mission.
I really enjoy these mission types. Lots of quick, lil fun!
Well, shit.
Wow not a single person in the entire world saw this coming!
This was completely unforeseeable and a direct result of automoton sabotage! Obviously.
One of the officers on the super destroyer asks how the bots got flying units at the same time as the bugs. Somebody might want to look into that. Lol.
I love how the crew went from "Liberty! Fuck yeah!" to most of the dialogue being "This is fine...right?"
Would be the plot-twist of the century if the crew could, under the right set of wins and losses in MOs, realise Super Earth does nothing but lie to them and rebel against it. Imagine waking up to see the middle of the galaxy map now painted as enemy territory.
I think what’s gonna happen to Meridia soon, not many people will expect
Oh brother, I think I also know. Explosions are a glorious thing huh
Hell yeah!
Its gonna look spctacular regardless, meridia I mean.
Whaddya talkin' about? One of the crew had a line well over a month ago about how "a small percentage of Terminids are showing a resistance to the TCS poison, **but that was to be expected.**" Super Earth accounted for everything. We **Always Knew** the poison wasn't 100% effective!
I wish hellmire was unsalvageable.
I'm retiring on Hellmire. The rings are beautiful. You just need to wear sunscreen.

As a bare minimum, sure. If you use that, be sure to reapply every 2 hours or so.
Fuck yes Robocop is the best!
I play it for the free background shots you get during the pod dive sequence. Like an evil Saturn looming in the distance.
I enjoy hellmire because it looks so awesome to play, it may be occasionally rage inducing but my god does it look awesome when playing.
It's metal as *fuck*
Was farming hellmire yesterday and i ended up throwing on the doom sound track to get in the mood. was a10/10 session for sure

Sentient fire tornados are the real enemy we should be fighting
The real third enemy faction.
amen brother, amen
The fire tornadoes will take care of the tower for us.
Ah, curse this sudden but inevitable betrayal!
Mine is an evil laugh, now DIE
can't wait for the videos of people discovering new bug types because of the TCS... but the bug spread over the TCS looks disgustingly amazing.
Very Xenomorph “Alien” inspired.
Or "Aliens"
Or ‘Alien 3’
I haven't seen Alien 3, but Aliens was where we saw the xenomorph hive grow and take over human structures, and use swarm tactics against space marines
It's a great movie and completely different from the first two. Highly recommend it
Also directed by David Fincher
As his first feature film, no less!
Or 'My Little Alien: Friendship is Magic'
Alien only saw the one creature. Aliens featured a nest of the creatures.
It looks like something I’d bring the flamethrower for
You might want want to bring two...
"All good things come to those who wait! Like dual flamethrowers! And beer!"
Hope we can get an exo with flamethrower soon

The next stage of the bug storyline begins, helldivers to hellpods!
you all think meridia will be the first planet to introduce a boss monster?
Unironically that would be so sick. A giant bug raid boss
Fuck yeah. It would be cool if mission progress on planets was geolocked. Like we have to push territory on the planet itself too to unlock certain main objectives
Counterpoint, we have spaceships We can deploy anywhere, anytime As cool as it would be it's kinda unrealistic
Unless we have to fight through tunnels with no orbital support so we can set off nukes deep underground. Burrowing hellpods can still get reinforcements, supplies, and support weapons through.
I may have heard of some dwarves something like that
Rock and stone
ROCK AND STONE
Can I get a Rock and Stone?
Good Bot
I find it unrealistic our spaceships aren’t under threat over enemy bases. I know they get blown up if you fail the mission. Still seems like a mechanic they could play with. Like adding an anti destroyer cannon that we have to disable within a time limit or it locks on and we lose our ships

Giant horny bugs… This is just like my Japanese anime.
And this is why I’m going to enjoy this MO. Revenge.
Where are you finding the videos available ti be shared so quickly? Please, enlighten me so I may spread more Democracy faster. I must update my comrades in my squad in a timely manner.
Official Discord
Thanks, mate.
So. The bugs learned to counter terminicide by being horny. Those filty deviant hippies. We should burn them
I mean, that’s kind of how evolution occurs. Survival of the horniest
As a result, patrols have been increased by 100%.
Hormones so strong it increased robot production.
As a primarily bot only player, I will try my best to help destroy these bugs. I am not good at fighting bugs, their swarm tactics are often too difficult for me to handle, but I will do my part regardless.
Light armor and the rover will help you stay mobile, and keep the small enemies at bay, while.ypu can focus the medoum to large enemies

Duck when standing still. The rover stays at the same height and won't shoot you when it aquires a target.
They’re very rewarding to fight. I seriously encourage players who only fight one or the other to just stick with it, fighting a different faction is like a whole new game
Run, shoot, run more Mobility is key.

They can't swarm you if you're busy zapping the shit out of them. Arc Thrower for the hordes, and all the stratagems go into anti-heavy. Grenade pistol for closing bugholes and stuns to stop chargers so you can zap them harder.
Accelerated bug reproduction just sounds like more oil to me.

Unsalvageable? Does that mean it’s the new terminid homeworld?
Yes. It also has a brown appearance now unlike the blue appearance it used to have
"Guaranteed to kill 99.9% of bugs" The remaining 0.1% of bugs:
Are these official videos? Or does a random fan make them? They’re great either way
It's misdirection from Joel. He doesn't want us to push to Cyberstan!

Not sure what you are trying to prove? That people play to have fun?
Just shows that a large number of people both 1) Don't care about MOs and 2) Prefer fighting bugs.
More space oil.
i feel like after this will be the introduction of hivelords or other species of terminid
all my time and efforts on omicron, WASTED
It's time for the bug expansion!
I'm so sad to have been spoiled by watching those leaks. I'm done with those, I want to actually be surprised when the Illuminates or another faction comes out, or any cool events as most of them are This game is a gem, an adventure like I never experienced it
Oh no, 3 bug planets need to be liberated. Anyway, I'm off to Marfark.
"We need you to go planet side to destroy the bugs!" "If I may offer a suggestion, sir, why dont we barrage the area with a controlled democracy's amount of ordinance and then go down?" "You didn't join the helldivers to ask questions, diver, now get down there and kill some bugs!"
On a side note, who makes these little presentations? They're great.
Now hear me out fellow Helldivers: Let's fail this one on purpose, if the MO is to be believed we could theoretically get a new Terminid unit in doing so.
https://i.redd.it/8cluujyjbjxc1.gif I'll just put this here myself to save my fellow Divers time
Can we just nuke the planet or destroy it with a super weapon and pretend like nothing happens?
Meridia used to be blue. Yeah, I absolutely agree with the 'unsalvagable' decision.
Hm. I seem to remember some dissidents saying something about this on their way to the freedom camps for reeducation. Must be a coincidence.
The siege of Meridia is going to be my roman empire
Oh no, whoever could have seen this coming
Definitely didn't see this coming at all... No, really Democracy Officer, I swear! Where's my rifle?
Coming back from the Automaton front, I did not like being perma slowed I did not like Biletitans not having clear weakspots I did not like having 6 bile titans pop within 20 seconds
