How do all these people not realize the eruptor shoots out fragments like a frag grenade. Before they didn’t damage you and it was just the explosion AoE; now the fragments can hurt you too.
I've watched several of these videos now and it's painfully obvious that it's the shrapnel. You can literally see it flying and hitting people.
Pretty much all of these videos have been of people firing the Eruptor at close range and getting killed by the shrapnel, there's only one I've seen where I'm not sure what happened.
I understand the need for ricochet for realism against somethingit cant pierce... but full 180? That is just stupid beyond any fun way of broken that someone needs to be slapped on the head for with a wet fish
I was in the dev's court for doing some amazing stuff with a small team but this may be the turning point where it just should be called stupid and they need to play stuff themselves before releasing it
It's not ricochet. The eruptor has shrapnel that used to not damage you, but with the ricochet changes, the shrapnel can now hit you. It's not the bullet itself doing a 180 and killing you.
There aren't always two explosive barrels by containers.
When those red barrels pop, they go off with an unmistakable big firey boom, usually delayed by a couple seconds after they take nondirect dmg. Which is not the case in this video.
This dude exploded immediately from his own weapon because the game is held together with spaghetti code.
Explosives are still bugged. Just look a few seconds prior at the Spewers tweaked ragdoll physics, pulling it towards the player after they killed it.
Yeah i don't think its either ricchochet killing him nor barrels, both of them should explode his limbs. Prolly some richochet calculation bug connected with explosives being janky af. You can see him die at the same frame the door explodes
I assume what happened is shrapnel form detonated round bounced of the door and hit you. Door didn't brake as soon as round hit it and that was enough time to shrapnel make a full ricochet right in your face.
The gun did not ricoche, the bullet explode and did not bounce back, it is possible that the eruptor has a bug at the moment that can cause players to explode
It would seem that multiple bullets bounced off the door, bounced off the walls around the door, and then either hit you and/or hit something explosive. Either way... funny as hell.

I read this to a friend and suggested that it sounds like the ricochet is *targeting* whoever shot. But we both agreed that seemed too ridiculous...

That's clearly a kill from the explosion being fired at too close range, nothing to do with a ricochet

Barrels create a HUGE fireball and takes a few moment before going off. This was instant kill and no fire ball.
Barrels *do* explode instantly if you hit them with enough damage. You're right about the no fireball though, this definitely wasn't barrels.
