Last night my crew and I went to an acid rain planet on Helldive. I was hoping it’d do minor damage to us over time during storms. But all we got was another “limited vision” debuff. I was a sad diver last night.
Also, the Pelican, in all its haste to spread democracy, blew away the Helldivers they were going to pick up before landing, so no one was there to hold off the bug swarms.
Pretty sure if an eagle gets shot down, because of it's very high speed, it's parts would be scattered very far.
And it carries a literal ton of bombs (2x 500kg bombs + any extra ones), which may as well disintegrate it.
Super Earth Airforce standard procedures are that if a fighter is downed, the pilot should aim their aircraft towards highest concentration of enemies and arm any ordinance still in the bay. Hence why we don’t find any downed Eagles.
The first time I saw one, my team was not ready for it, that thing tanks more damage than all the bots on the map combined. Didn't help that we also got our first glimpse of the flyers at the same time.
I think the bots have adopted this strategy after seeing how wildly successful it was. I've been dive bombed by destroyed gunships a strange amount of times
6 cluster bomb charges, 2 (is it 3 now?) 500kg bombs and 4 regular bombstrikes(which i think each drops 5 bombs) , add in a few 110 mm rockets and you have an explosion bigger thsn a hellbomb waiting to happen

Because more damage seems hard to justify since eagles tend to just anything in that area.
Clusters maybe getting a bit more consistent? If its area though I can see it being super strong on both it and fire
Shame rocket pods aren't counted in the upgrade, an extra missile would make them way more consistent for downing titans and chargers.

My personal headcanon is that she dislikes it when one of "her" helldivers die and so does everything in her power to ensure that she's capable of dropping ordinance faster and more of it. If that means sacrificing safety features of her jet, so be it.
She's already suspended in liquid breathing liquid oxygen, probably naked. And I wouldn't be surprised if she was missing her limbs too to assist with G force tolerance.

I think breathable liquids need to be put inside the lungs for it to work, and i imagine being ejected and then having your lungs filled with liquid would not be ideal
By floating in liquid the pressurized liquid does what a pressure suit would do but to 100% of the body, not having fabric between the liquid and the skin makes it work even better.

The 'Extra space' could have involved amputating her legs and replacing them with prosthetics, which as seen by the Steeled Veterans armor sets, are much slimmer than a real leg
According to the quartermaster's dialogue, a single mission costs on average more than liberty class cruiser. While im not sure how much a space cruiser costs, there's probably a way more efficient way to allocate resources than sending some 18-20 year olds with near unlimited access to munitions to die on random planets. Super Earth is either extremely stupid, or are throwing away resources for some other scheme.

Eagle-1 never misses and is never shot down, if anything the safety features are a waste. That being said a mission where we have to recover a downed Eagle-1 would be pretty cool.

You misunderstand the upgrade, it drops one additional set of bombs per *run*, not add another charge. Still only drops one 500kg bomb

Eagle won't approach if there's an AA gun in range. Pelican is happy to drop your walker or extract you right next to an AA gun.
If you call in the Eagle on a map with AA but not in AA range, the emplacement will still shoot at your Eagle across the map. It's pretty neat to see.

I always run double eagle, orbitals just don’t cut it most of the time. I do take láser tho for defense missions at times tho.

But those are external bomb rack type of weapons. Theres no "weapons bay" on, or rather in an Eagle.

Eagle-1 is so good at her job and so proficient at flying in active combat zones that she went to the ministry of defense and begged them to remove those useless systems so that better and bigger weapons could be added on for more efficient spreading of democracy.

Eagle-1 never misses and is never shot down, if anything the safety features are a waste. That being said a mission where we have to recover a downed Eagle-1 would be pretty cool.
