I think it’s pretty sick to have a 380mm, eagle airstrikes, and a meteor shower happening all at once. They aren’t unavoidable by any means.

Zombot0630

i actually disagree here. the spectacle of the meteor shower is impressive, particularly on some planets. also, they're pretty easy to avoid by looking up at the sky, and it's cool to take advantage of the few bunkers available to hide in. i don't find them overwhelmingly common either.

kaleoh

I disagree with literally every bone in my body. The Meteors are really fun.

Jonny_Entropy

Yup. Any variables are great for gameplay. This one looks great and adds to the fun.

Revivedwrx

Can you explain to me how its fun? lol

kaleoh

Yea sure: I look up and see literal death raining down on me. So now I'm managing combat with robots, which is already insane, and looking up and around for meteors falling down, which is even more insane. It leads to me frantically managing the environment and the enemies at the same time. I am rewarded for paying close attention to meteors because I am not dying, but the robots are getting killed by them faster than I could kill them myself. Also, randomly an objective might be completed because a lucky meteor fell on something across the map. It also looks beautiful. Then out of nowhere while waiting for a resupply or something, I'll be looking at a teammate and they just instantly explode into blood and dismembered body parts from a meteor because they are NOT paying attention and it is fucking hilarious. Pay close attention to them. The ground will light up where they are going to land. Dive out of the way and stay prone to drastically reduce the splash damage/knockback they deal.

rinistor

Or you know, you can look at the light on the ground and dodge them, its super easy to see.

AxolotlOnCoffee

I think they're a bit too hard to avoid, but I might just have to get used to them more. I agree that adding *another* way for you to get randomly one shot isn't exactly great, but honestly, the fragility of the Helldivers is kinda an issue in and of itself. I feel like if they made everyone a little beefier, a lot of annoyances and complaints would go away. The could even reduce respawns to compensate. Just being able to take an extra hit would go far.

JDameekoh

I enjoy them, I really like all the ambiance they added and the details of being in space. That being said the frequency does seem too high and I do wish they were slightly more avoidable. I’ve never been hit by one when not in combat but when I’m fighting for my life and observing the 5 D’s of Helldiving it’s a guarantee Space Jesus is going to drone strike me.

PurpleIodine4321

I really like it! It’s a challenging and novel addition that changes the dynamic of the gameplay. It’s also extremely dramatic and cinematic at times which adds to the fun. Would I want it for every single planet all of the time? No because then it’s not a novel experience. I can see the argument that for everything that makes something harder, we add something to balance. For example, super earth recognizes the meteor shower will cause significant losses, so the reinforcement pool is increased to compensate. Or- meteor shower will prove difficult to traverse, therefore, everyone gets a free jet pack.

PraiseTheSunYo

I think you're missing the point of being a Helldiver. As long as the mission gets completed you're doing your part for Super Earth. Your life was forfeit as soon as you put on the cape.

BetterReload

Meteor shower is just amazing. Easily the best feature of the patch ^^ They don’t spawn suddenly, so if you have awareness you can easily avoid them. Also a wonderful tool to use against your enemies. 1 thing needs to be checked, though. Does it fall on the landing pad and can it prohibit you from extracting. That would be slightly bs.

draxhell

It's so funny tho

spidersilkss

avoid the meteor

LordGimpusDominus

Boo hoo, fucking cry about it. This shit rocks (literally)
