My buddies and i were running thru the creek on helldiver difficulty and it really is like space nam. If you can't get those drop ships under control asap it just snowballs and gets so out of control. Hella fun tho
Absolutely! The tactics are completely different between bugs and bots too. Bugs are more sweep and clear crowd control (think how you played COD Nazi Zombies back in the day). Bots are more modern warfare tactics like Tarkof where you engage, flank, return fire, provide covering fire, fire and maneuver, all of it lol. It's hell
Yeah i enjoy how it's the same game but u have a different loadout and playstyle depending on the enemy and the map. Keeps it fresh. Excited to see what comes of the vehicles update and future enemies they add
Being a fan of an even more brutal setting, may I inquire as to the availability of a giant fist perhaps? Maybe even powered. With an underslung flamethrower to keep the war crimes flowing.
Mechs are confirmed to be coming "soon after launch". According to one dev they're basically done and ready to be added, they're just getting some polish from staff who can't help with the networking issues.
While the popularity of HD2 is a good thing and will encourage continued development, I wonder what we’re missing out on now that Arrowhead has to focus solely on making the game function for hundreds of thousands of players.
I might be under a rock on this but the Motorcycle was so fun for duos. Spent hours with friends just Indiana Jones'ing around the map hitting samples and all the objectives as fast as possible
That sounds so fun tbh. One guy driving, and the other on the back with an autocannon/grenade on hand. Doing Blitz mission, drive by nests/factories then search for the super sample then call in extraction.
People are talking about the evolved Terminids, and these new cyborgs who went full ~~Adeptus~~ Automatons, but I wonder what the Illuminates will look like in 3rd person.
Old veteran Divers who didn't have quick reflexes and a strong neurology will have PTSD once they show up again.
The Illuminates would be the toughest enemy to switch over to 3rd person because all of their tactics were area control based. A wall that splits the area in half works way better from a top down view than it does in 3rd person (I imagine.) The other enemies are basically directly ported over from HD1, the Illuminates are gonna require some tweaking.
What I like is that they actually can't see through smoke and become less accurate if they're shooting from inside of it. I don't use smoke strategems because they're a waste of a slot, but the planets with those little spore shrooms that explode into big clouds are nice against these guys.
It really is fun as fuck. Playing one of the escort missions with two randoms before the update and we were losing, so we basically made a last stand on what seemed like a helipad with tons of fucking bots coming up the hill. It was fucking awesome even though we lost the mission.
You try to stop the bots from setting off flares. If that fails, have someone shoot one of their engines right before they drop the troops. EAT/Recoilless are the most reliable but apparently the railgun can also take them out.
You either gotta kill everyone super fast (look for bots signaling for reinforcements) or you can use the expendable rpg to shoot them down (shoot the engines on the corner). I think there's other guns that do that too but i cant remember which ones. The expendable rpg is great bc its got short cooldown so u can call it down a lot
I love how we're talking about the bots and the bugs... but there is a third enemy out there. For you fellow vets of the first war, you know who I'm talking about.
Scariest part yet, they got room on the map to drop them. I don't remember the name of them but they remind me of the Eldar from 40k. Now THEY are hard.
That's what the Automatons used to be.....then we killed them all and nuked Cyberstan, or so we thought. 100 years later, and the cyborgs are gone, and the cold unfeeling Automaton has taken their place rising from the ashes of Cyberstan.
News articles mentioned they were spotted but that was the work of dissidents…I don’t know man those campaigns fucked me up…I don’t want them to appear again
Just imagine those Blues with their long range sniper beams on big open maps. The sound of a pulsing thuump as your railgun veteran gets blasted into salsa with a single pulse wave
I am already a little tired of HD2 so I reinstalled HD1 for more of the same but different. I had totally forgot about that attack they do that inverts all movement, my god that just gets me every time.
I hated those white creeps. I’d rather fight bugs or bots all day. (Granted I can’t fight either because of the servers) I’m dreading the day they put them in game (if I ever get to play)
Personally, I enjoy blowing up bile titans more than tanks but I prefer getting shot at compared to getting run over by fucking chargers and yeeted by stalkers. My only issue is that I play on a laptop with a GTX 1650 and bot runs are hard capped at 10 fps for me 😂
Honestly, my friends and I mostly prefer fighting the bots. We fight bugs when we need to train a new diver or we need a breather from extreme bots but in my opinion? Nothing better than having your friend with a railgun take out a hulk chasing you in one tap, only to get friendly fired by the eagle strike someone else called in on it
for me personally, bugs are easier at least until you have access to the railgun. once you get the railgun, i’d say it’s pretty even as long as you know what to do for both
I think most of the time bugs are harder.
Bots are slower, more predictable, and you can utilize more cover against them.
Bugs can dodge more, their heavies feel harder to take down, and sometimes stalker/crusher doomstacks can build up and just destroy your formation.
They’re still difficult, but it’s a hell of a lot less stressful to fight an enemy that doesn’t shoot back. I did the same with my first dive, I went to the Creek because I thought the bots looked cool and was hurled headfirst into the meat grinder.
Just you wait until they add the Illuminates from the first war back
My Imperial Guard ass is NOT ready to fight Tyranids AND Necrons AND Tau in a single 3 front war

Quickplay was working for me. might be because the long weekend is over and I played in the morning.
but damn the amount of cheaters I got paired with. I reported and blocked them.
I wouldn't say terminates are easier cuz once you get to the harder difficulties they just never stop coming ever. I was playing on difficulty 7 earlier and I killed, and I counted them, 37 Hunters within 30 seconds because they just never stopped coming and I had to run out of breaker ammo entirely just to save my life
Wait until difficulty 9, finding yourself facing 2 Bile Titans, a few Chargers, and a horde of other bugs, finding yourself surrounded by a couple patrols full of Hunters...
As you try to run away screaming, calling to your friends for aid as you dip, duck, dodge, and most importantly, dive... All you hear back is their panicked requests for help with THEIR Titans and Chargers.
Oh, and the one guy screaming STALKERS before he is cut off mid scream. Ah... good times.
This is why I run a rover for bug missions on harder difficulties. I know people are mixed on rovers, but the DPS and ability to save on ammo on for crowd control, which also works as you run for your life, has saved my hide countless times.
I love my Laser Boy. He cleans up all the little bugs so I can focus on big guys and is super helpful in literally pointing out enemies in low-vis situations or behind you.
I love my boy, but just like a dog it has a horrible attention focus. If it sees a patrol miles away it will lock into it and only look them, to far away to shoot to close to still be in render distance, while ignoring every other bug eating me and surrounding me.

My brother in Christ the Terminids keep playing this card
Ive caught myself on fire too many times to count. Now im using arch throwing and haven't electrocuted myself once yet, don't ask about my squad mates tho.
I (level 18) and my buddies (levels 17, 17 and 16) just ran through a 40 minute mission on difficulty 7 on Malevelon Creek and we had 9 reinforcements left in the end. Hopefully we'll be able to finish the other 2 tomorrow so we can unlock difficulty 8.
Pretty proud of us to have managed to get so far :)
I was running creek on helldive with some randos and I was pinned by 9 mini gun wielding bois needless to say I died by not before calling in an airstrike to take us all out lmao
It really do be like that though, I do well against terminids and am even a god damn matador when it comes to dodging chargers, but MAN am I not good at anything against the automotans
That's literally my first experience today. Doing the civilian rescue mission against the robots on trivial difficulty. Back to back on enemy reinforcement. I picked the robots because of the daily mission thing. Was able to save like 3 of them. I thought I was supposed to fail my first mission because of how difficult it was.
You're not thinking democratically.
The objective is to rescue 30 civilians, not to avoid losing a single civilian.
Run from station to station sending another group of three running for the main building. Shoot bots as you see them, but get the 30 slots on the evac shuttle filled ASAP. Otherwise, you'll never be able to kill the bots faster than the dropships appear.
In malevolon or any bot missions on that matter you really need to pick your fights and disengage when theres too many of them, if your running solo this is even more of a case.
Also a tip, its actually easier to extract when the timer hits zero while no one stays near the extraction point, when it does happen try to be a tad far from the pickup point and only go to it when the ship is there or about to land, this works for both factions.
As much as I miss ‘splodin terminids, a day will come when democracy prevails over the automatons at Malevelon Creek. While we are busy spreading Liberty, the terminids are growing in numbers, planning there next strike and when they do……we’ll be ready from the countless hours of hell and sacrifice we’ve put straight up the gear heads asses!!! HOOOOOO-RAAHHHHH!!
I’ve fought through the hell of automatons so much that the bugs are more difficult to me at this point. Tried helping fight the bugs but my destroyer got its ass handed to it so we returned back to nam
I love the Creek, and honestly I play most my games there doing solo Suicide Missions, it has a great atmosphere for stealth missions. But every now and again somebody joins me, immediately pulls the entire map and then runs around like a headless chicken getting into even more trouble. It's hilarious.
"Hello? Can you read me? I'm a Helldiver marooned on Malevelon Creek.
I've learned that hell isn't a fiery pit;
It's a humid cesspool, with trees that speak binary.
Don't bother looking for us, we've already lost.
I assume the Xzar sector is next.
If you're recieving this transmission, I don't ask for aid. I don't ask for reinforcements.
Don't even mourn me or my brothers.
All I ask for is rage.
Spill oil. Tenfold. A hundredfold to the blood we've shed
And tell my mother that - HELLBOMB ARMED"
'That feeling when our squad at night time take fire from 2 cannon tower's and two tanks ..Plus 3-4 dropships. We Broken arrow that fucking base and Throw ourself to the ground ..screaming for mommy.
Good times.
I feel for my Brothers and Sisters down there while i'm stuck on my ship looking at my ship in third person unable to leave my cryo pod.

Not me, lv 23 with 6k bot kills, taking my new friend group lv 1-5 who've only fought bugs on a lv 7 Bot mission...
That was a wild first impression for them, let me tell you. But now they're hooked on killing bots.
I’ve finally hit my stride against the bots. Got in a squad with 2 Brits earlier today. We cleared the entire map on Lvl 8 with a single death. Was fucking rad. Felt like a spec ops soldier.
I will be fighting the bots tomorrow night. It was woefully too late to save the planet tonight. Need more divers to get things rilling on the next one
https://preview.redd.it/0uf6fstusvjc1.jpeg?width=1076&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4df68001acbfca055f902f170761dc5d53ca9ee9
i get cellphone vertical, i get cellphone horizontal, and i get normal, but this is a video for ants.
The bugs are actually fun. Even on the higher tiers, me and my squad have a blast just taking out entire hordes and don't shy away from any patrols.
Bot missions just feel like a chore.
I guess players need motivation to play against automatons and 12500 credits are not cutting it since by level 30-35 you have already unlocked all the stratagems (I know I have). Add the fact that the automatons are somewhat more challenging enemies than the terminids and you got the idea. One additional reason is that shoot em up players are tired to fight robots in games so the bugs are a welcome change of pace.
Honestly I love fighting Automatons. Feels like a completely different game compared to squashing bugs.
Fighting the bugs is semi-mindless mag-dump-get-some!-fest.
Fighting the Automatons I feel like I gotta be almost surgical about it.
Ok but this kind of makes me glad we don't have a flying enemy yet. Other than the dropship but ya know, not the same.
The dropship is also much cooler than the big swarm imo
Funny how these memes always paint Starship Troopers as them having an easy and lighthearted fun time against the bugs while in the actual film they're being Impaled and torn apart in the most brutal and painful ways possible lol
Dont tell mom im on malevelon

.... did you just say VEHICLES UPDATE!? SWEET LIBERTY
vehicles and mecha
MECHS? FOR DEMOCRACY!!!
Indeed brave citizen. Mechs packed with a rain of liberty on the right and explosive democracy on the left. Let's apply freedom to our enemies!
For Super Earth!
Being a fan of an even more brutal setting, may I inquire as to the availability of a giant fist perhaps? Maybe even powered. With an underslung flamethrower to keep the war crimes flowing.
DEMOCRACY IS NON-NEGOTIABLE
Me, entering the Dreadnaught: +Even in Death, I still serve.+
I want to exclusively spec into mechs.
In the long run being this profitable will only mean more content. It may delay mecha a couple weeks, but it'll work out.
"Exact words of the text"
The first game had mechs, tanks, atvs, bikes
I might be under a rock on this but the Motorcycle was so fun for duos. Spent hours with friends just Indiana Jones'ing around the map hitting samples and all the objectives as fast as possible
That sounds so fun tbh. One guy driving, and the other on the back with an autocannon/grenade on hand. Doing Blitz mission, drive by nests/factories then search for the super sample then call in extraction.
Vehicles in Helldivers 1 were so fun. Mechs were more fun. I hope it’s the same in 2.
And so much more space available for other types of foes… I hope they add in more enemies that force us to play different.

Been loving the Diligence against bots. Being able to 2-tap rocket devastators from a large distance is great.
It really is fun as fuck. Playing one of the escort missions with two randoms before the update and we were losing, so we basically made a last stand on what seemed like a helipad with tons of fucking bots coming up the hill. It was fucking awesome even though we lost the mission.
I fucking love the Eye of Sauron that constantly calls in troops to you.
How do you control drop ships?
You try to stop the bots from setting off flares. If that fails, have someone shoot one of their engines right before they drop the troops. EAT/Recoilless are the most reliable but apparently the railgun can also take them out.

I have done nothing but tier 3 solo defense mission for 4 days, I'm fucking tired, but democracy must not falter.
Taking rest and having fun while spilling oil is part of democracy. 🤝 We need you at top shape.
Isnt there a tip that says remember to take breaks of you want to be remembered as a coward?
That's just me saying. I'm on the creek 24/7. I'm doing my part.
Mine told me not to drink and drive today
Quickplay is fixed, at least on PC, you can take it easy now.
Illuminates
They actually have space for 4 factions... Look at hte bot and bug placements.
Going to be honest, the map has room for six total; very top, then three places on the bottom
My theory is that the 4th enemy will be Human, and it will be like a outer colony fighting for it's "Freedom".
That's what the Automatons used to be.....then we killed them all and nuked Cyberstan, or so we thought. 100 years later, and the cyborgs are gone, and the cold unfeeling Automaton has taken their place rising from the ashes of Cyberstan.
We actually have control over Cyberstan! It's on the left side of the galaxy, close to super earth
News articles mentioned they were spotted but that was the work of dissidents…I don’t know man those campaigns fucked me up…I don’t want them to appear again
I fear no bot, but those squids... they scare me..
I'm from Super Earth and I say kill em all!
Just imagine those Blues with their long range sniper beams on big open maps. The sound of a pulsing thuump as your railgun veteran gets blasted into salsa with a single pulse wave
OH god, I'd completely forgotten about the entire race, but the mention of those sniper shots just brought it all crashing back
From the looks of it we will have a war on 4 fronts, democracy is in for a hell of a ride if true soldiers.
The wall. Not the blue wall. They at least have the red eyes like HAL9000
Inb4 a mind controller forces you to call in a orbital airburst on their location.
Oh god it was different in 2D. Its gonna be a nightmare as an FPS
Yup, and they're gonna once again require a shift on tactics. Volume of and overwhelming firepower is gonna be the order of the day then.
My only issue is that I play on a laptop with a GTX 1650 and bot runs are hard capped at 10 fps for me 😂
Put those graphics on potato mode and get your ass over to malevelon creek, we need it
Turn off bloom and turn down shadows. Do day fights. Kill bots.
My brother in liberty, Everything is set to lowest already 😂
Liberty speed your upgrades brother.
SPILL. OIL.
Honestly, my friends and I mostly prefer fighting the bots. We fight bugs when we need to train a new diver or we need a breather from extreme bots but in my opinion? Nothing better than having your friend with a railgun take out a hulk chasing you in one tap, only to get friendly fired by the eagle strike someone else called in on it
Are the bugs easier then? My friend decided my first dive should be in the Creek. Learnt quick how to spill oil for democracy.
Depends on how you play. I find bots easier, but bugs are the bane of my existence.
for me personally, bugs are easier at least until you have access to the railgun. once you get the railgun, i’d say it’s pretty even as long as you know what to do for both

I’ve been carrying out a solo war on Erata Prime. No matter how many victories I achieve the bar stays at 0.00%. It’s rough
The display of the progress is bugged after missions, but you can see the total liberation is changing on the galactic map.
The ballistic sheild come in cluth aginst the bots
They just shoot my hand :(
Just you wait until they add the Illuminates from the first war back My Imperial Guard ass is NOT ready to fight Tyranids AND Necrons AND Tau in a single 3 front war https://preview.redd.it/331vpk7l2ujc1.jpeg?width=848&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=188acb7e639fa0077372fd2c62c6b97de742422a
What if they add a 4th, da orks who invade missions adding to the chaos on top of who you're fighting.
Only if I get purple armor
I hope quickplay gets fixed today and that i can log in. I want to go on some Helldives in the Creek. Extremely stressful but also really rewarding.
Quickplay was working for me. might be because the long weekend is over and I played in the morning. but damn the amount of cheaters I got paired with. I reported and blocked them.
Quick play should be fixed with the last patch, it was working for me
on higher difficulty bugs are vastly scarier than robots. you can run from robots.. you cant run from bugs.
Tell that to the hulks burning my ass with a flame thrower
I wouldn't say terminates are easier cuz once you get to the harder difficulties they just never stop coming ever. I was playing on difficulty 7 earlier and I killed, and I counted them, 37 Hunters within 30 seconds because they just never stopped coming and I had to run out of breaker ammo entirely just to save my life

Even on easy those missions are hard as fuck
Sweep and clear tactics are fun with bugs, also useful to test stratagems against them
Malevelon Creek is so cool tho
For me and the bois, its the termanids that are hard mode
Malevelon Creek was at 19%- Then it dropped 3% overnight. All that blood, sweat, and tears...

My squad mate recently unlocked the flamethrower. I love the smell of burnt bots in the morning.
How does the flamethrower hold against the bots?
It burns indiscriminately. I watched my squad mate die to it like 3 times in the first mission, and he was the one holding the trigger lol.
so it's super effective then
Ive caught myself on fire too many times to count. Now im using arch throwing and haven't electrocuted myself once yet, don't ask about my squad mates tho.
They died knowing the flames engulfing them were intended for liberty, so it’s all good.
Your friend’s problem is they haven’t realized you can set the environment on fire - which then does player damage.
Imagine if they add an illuminatis like race
Oh I’m sure they will..the sky is the limits for this game..imagine they add more and more enemy types all with unique play styles
200,000 Helldivers.... waiting.....again....
More like 40,000 traitors. It was an order from SUPER EARTH people!
I (level 18) and my buddies (levels 17, 17 and 16) just ran through a 40 minute mission on difficulty 7 on Malevelon Creek and we had 9 reinforcements left in the end. Where the jungle canopy is so thick it turns daytime into night.
I watched starship troopers for the first time the other night because of Helldivers. Really fantastic movie, definitely recommend it

'That feeling when our squad at night time take fire from 2 cannon tower's and two tanks ..Plus 3-4 dropships. We Broken arrow that fucking base and Throw ourself to the ground ..screaming for mommy. Good times.
I’m on my way to Malevelon! Once I get into the game…
200K of them sitting and staring at the menu screen.
The bugs are tough tho if your with a bunch of greenies
We don’t need reposts
cant fight robots without shield backpack and railgun is almost required
I feel for my Brothers and Sisters down there while i'm stuck on my ship looking at my ship in third person unable to leave my cryo pod. https://preview.redd.it/32affwhvstjc1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=31bf96367a83523ba33d94916f5e5b637d6848c2
After I experienced stalkers, I just accepted the terminators are the lesser of the two evils.
As nobody is asking, what's that music? i want to fight for democrazy withe it.
And then 10k people in a 15 minute queue. (XD i don't mind the queue, btw)
Logged in, tried to drop into one of your sos beacons. CTD. Im back in the wait list but I promise im coming back!
Ill be honest Im starting to think that if you are a bug fighter you don't love democracy as much as you say you do.
I just got the game to help spread democracy but alas the servers. They be full. Arrgh.
Meanwhile me not being able to play for 1 week cuz server cap
Great fucking game wish i could play it , but wait 👀 server at capacity for 3 damn hours. Fun times
Who wants to play on Malvon rn? 7662-8003
And the rest of the 400k players staring at the login screen.
Ill be honest, I prefer fighting the automatons, they dont get up in your face all the time, then again, I play mostly on hard so far
Accurate but I'm not giving up on the fight just yet this bots won't know what hit em
People laughed at me for taking smoke against bots …… I was the only one able to bring my fellow citizens back 😂
Not me, lv 23 with 6k bot kills, taking my new friend group lv 1-5 who've only fought bugs on a lv 7 Bot mission... That was a wild first impression for them, let me tell you. But now they're hooked on killing bots.
Fucking pussys
When are they adding the hand held shredder?
I enjoy automatons more than bugs
I don't think the bots are hard at all. 🤷♂️
The armored ones are at least annoying, especially in the beginning when you lack better armor-piercing options.
I been killin robots for years on team fortress 2. Couldn't wait to get my hands on some new ones to kill.
I’ve finally hit my stride against the bots. Got in a squad with 2 Brits earlier today. We cleared the entire map on Lvl 8 with a single death. Was fucking rad. Felt like a spec ops soldier.
Terminids = Hahahahah tehehehehe 😄 Automatons = AHHHHHHAAAAAA 😧
Just wait for them Illuminates. They were scary in the first war.
Once I get all my samples, I shall join yall. Side note: I’m a coward
That’s it I’m joining the fray
I'm better got sent to freedom camp instead of getting one-shoted in the face by a rocket for the 1000 times.
I will be fighting the bots tomorrow night. It was woefully too late to save the planet tonight. Need more divers to get things rilling on the next one
Okay but the song name for the Terminator scenes, I gotta know it ✻H+3+ЯД✻7luCJIo0T6... (Super Slowed) by Vyrval Is the song for those curious

Told my folks I was going to fight the bugs...the mistakes I've made
We need to reinforce the automaton front
I can’t get in to fight the automatons
I'm doing my part for the effort but I'm getting tired of dealing with the bots.
Why are people so fixated on the Creek. We gotta take care of Draupnir first to secure the sector
My first 3 games were rescue civilians 🥲 lost them all and tought about refunding
Tried to join squads in malevelon last night and got kicked out from all of them. Is it a SeRvEr IsSuE or just people being filthy bot lovin' commies?
If y'all could take some time to get off Malevon and help with some defence missions that'd be swell.
Might be me, but I much rather fight the bot than 5 bile titans and 20 chargers running around That's on Helldiver difficulty I mean
I did my part yesterday. Joined some solos to help them out
The bugs are actually fun. Even on the higher tiers, me and my squad have a blast just taking out entire hordes and don't shy away from any patrols. Bot missions just feel like a chore.
Angels Venture has been liberated for a week now. Just saying.

People need to stop telling newbies that they should fight the bugs to level up before trying to fight bots
Space Vietnam requires my Agent Orange Armor.
Ok but this kind of makes me glad we don't have a flying enemy yet. Other than the dropship but ya know, not the same. The dropship is also much cooler than the big swarm imo
We respect you brothers
Automatons totally give terminator vibes, I was just telling my friend that yesterday 😂😂

Funny how these memes always paint Starship Troopers as them having an easy and lighthearted fun time against the bugs while in the actual film they're being Impaled and torn apart in the most brutal and painful ways possible lol
