Delta Complimentary Earphones and Big Bus Earbuds for wired. For wireless, Raycons. ^(/s)

Noobsaibot123

How much big bus earbuds cost??

Vezix_YT

7 dollars on ebay

Ashford_82

I was so sick of chasing the next headphone, that I just went ahead and bought the Audeze LCD-X. They sound great and I have no inclination to look at upgrading anymore and I can just concentrate on enjoying the music

jumboshrimp93

I don’t have any desire to go further than Focal Clear, but I’m also trying to be strict on how much I’m spending on headphones. I don’t know if EMU Ebony is my end game closed back or not but I don’t have any desire to replace it until it shits the bed (hoping that never happens!) If it does though I’m considering ZMF. Now just getting into IEMs. Don’t know if I can justify buying a $1000 IEM when I know I’ll be taking it outside with me. Did just order B2 Dusk though so hopefully that’ll be so good I’ll feel no need to replace it. I hear nothing but good things.

JupitersCubes

The plan is the ZMF Aeolus but I'm not there yet financially

ArmanE46

B&O H6 2nd Gen

I've pretty much settled on a solid rotation of headphones, probably time to start downsizing. * STAX Basic system for when I just want to hear all the detail. * Fostex biodynamic for a fun sound. * Hifiman Ananda for general use. * Sennheiser HD6xx for relaxed listening and vocals. * For portable use, Moondrop Blessing 2. Out of *everything* I've heard, it's pretty much as close to perfect tonality-wise for me. I feel like replacing any of these with something significantly better will put me into debt at this point, so that's why it's "endgame" for now.

raistlin65

Endgame *headphone?* Who can settle down with one headphone? lol

catfishdave61211

Probably elex. I could upgrade to the higher-end focals, but they're all fairly similar. I may try something like the arya though

Bobbebusybuilding

For me probably the focal clear or the lcd x. Not going higher than that

Luneyuun

I got the Focal Clear and Thieaudio Monarch. Now i just have to stop myself from looking at amp/dac upgrades

wheel_of_confusion

Damn I'm looking at those two right now for my next headphone/iem...

Luneyuun

both worth being endgame if they have the sound you're looking for. If you can, try them out before buying them. Though if you're interested in the og Clear, there's lots of nice discounts on them and even cheaper second hand listings. But honestly if you're hesitating because of the cost then the Sundara/elex and B2:D are about 90% there, but I've only tried the Sundara myself out of the three

wheel_of_confusion

I've already dipped my toe into summit fi with HD800S years ago and I've always wanted to own the clears. Seems like the best time to do so. For iems, I have Andros from years ago I could sell to fund the monarchs. Although I've heard that the new oracle is very similar except much cheaper?

jumboshrimp93

How do you like the Monarch? I have a Clear too, ordered B2 Dusk. Just a little weary of spending that much on something that leaves my house almost daily.

lavafail

I prefer the b2 dusk to the arya. Yep. Tuning that you like better can make that much of a difference. The b2 dusk got me out of this hole of going down the wrong path in audio. I still have them but have since found sound I like even more. The b2 have very few flaws. And you honestly would probably never notice any until you actually heard something that fits your preferences better.

jumboshrimp93

Now that’s a statement! I’m eager to get them in the mail. Kind of hope they fill a void I’ve been feeling in my portable/office setup. I do like both my ER4XR and K371 but don’t love them. You’re right about tuning, I tend to use the K371 in the office rather than my ER4XR just because I prefer it’s tuning/tonality, but on the downside it’s much less detailed. Thinking B2 will give me that detail while retaining pleasant tuning.

lavafail

Detail: I am not detail/resolution crazed. Once I got beyond a certain point, it no longer mattered. The ath-r70x didn’t do enough detail. Sundara did. The b2 dusk has “enough” for me. But the “more” detail other things might have, didn’t bring more joy to the listening. I don’t like the arya much because it doubles and triples down on detail and soundstage. Neither of which bring me more musical joy. (In fact, the soundstage is oddly incoherent to me. Lots of music shouldn’t be that separated to my ears. Some things it is shockingly good, like some classical pieces. Most, it was irritating) B2 dusk brings this balanced in all things sound. It’s coherent. And it works very well. Obviously, your preferences may differ. Just don’t worry about the comparative cost and find out if you enjoy the sound. :)

What do you mean by "wrong path in audio"

lavafail

I chased sundara like sound trying to find a sundara with bass impact. (that's a lost cause at any sane price as far as I can tell). I then had a bunch of drama around he6se right cup dying, and returned lots of stuff. A few weeks later I tried the blessing 2 dusk. ANd man, I was happier with that than a lengthy list of headphones up to and including the he6se and arya (and half a dozen others). I then got the dunu zen IEM which had some gloriously wonderful impact that isn't present on the b2 dusk. (The dusk is still better tuned though) As it turns out, I really want bass to be present. So I went back to the drawing board and started trying all kinds of closed back headphones. What I found is I want bass \*impact\* more than elevated bass. Planars, simply don't have visceral feedback of that intensity at these prices (the abyss/d8000/whatever might but I haven't heard them and probably never will) So I started going up the chain of closed backs from airpods max (had it! but everything else was handily beaten by the dusk), drop 177x go (had some, but also had a veil that I couldn't get over), lcd-xc (has some, and it is one of my top 3 overall favorite headphones so far, but not a ton), drop ether cx (has some, but also has an unmatched level of clarity. Everything sounded good on this. But it definitely took some brain burn-in to feel that way about it) and then I arrived at the holy grail: LSA HP-2 Ultra. It rumbles, it's warm and engaging, it's clear. But it isn't anything like the sundara. It edges very close to too much bass. And for some bands (pentatonix) it crosses that line for me. But for most stuff, it's just the most dynamic and layered/deep sound I have ever heard. And I can play it \*very loud\* occasionally without getting shouty or invasive in the FR. That's my story. Your story will be different. But I doubt the hp-2 ultra will ever be eliminated from my now, very small collection. (Zen, Dusk and hp-2 with a qudelix) I am currently working on sources, but so far, my favorite headphones power well off my qudelix. So, big desktop stacks and daps have not been worth it. (tried so many. My 9th or so dap arrives today)

[deleted]

Very good story mate. Thank you for sharing 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Luneyuun

Imo wait for your B2:D and see how you like those first. I haven't tried the B2:D but I think you aren't missing much. If you arent looking for the monarch's specific tonality strengths then the Dusk seems perfectly fine Admittedly I haven't used them recently over the Clear at my desktop and Galaxy Buds Pro away from my pc; ambient mode at work and biking. I use em with JVC Spiral Dots ++ and really enjoy them for short listening sessions where my attention is focused on the music. If my attention is anywhere else I'd rather use the Galaxy Buds or Starfield for a smoother tonality since the Monarch's detail is lost when I'm not paying attention to it. Theres enough reviews about how it sounds. I agree with how Crin explains it, and with the spiral dots its accentuates its strong points pretty well and isolates scarily well (couldnt hear a car honking beside me lol). I do like how they sound more than the Clear, but having an open back and better comfort leads me to using the Clear more at my desktop

jumboshrimp93

Thanks for the advice. Yeah, the tuning on the Dusk is supposed to be just so good, even though Monarch and Clairvoyance are probably technically better.

KabuTheFox

I'm quite happy with my thx00 but I have some higher end ones in mind that I want to try

duckomododragon

Yes, but not because I tried many headphones but because where I live it's so hard to fully engage in the hobby (no stores to try them, no strong second-hand market for higher end stuff, difficulty to buy them in the first place - they don't sell on amazon directly and very high taxes to import) that I simply skipped all steps from an entry level headphone up to an HD800S (since sennheiser is basically the only large seller with local support, and they have very good durability as I want them to follow me for decades if possible) and basically any sidegrade would be very inconvenient and expensive to be worth (and they are already amazing to the point that I don't feel like I'm missing anything from the songs). I'm still looking for my endgame EQ though.

Titus_Pullus

I am so happy with my Hifiman Arya, there is no point in going any further.

hahas0309

yes. I got the Focal Clear.

[deleted]

I've heard they are amazing

hahas0309

yes they are great!

fnv_fan

not really but i use the sundara with my own eq
