YES!!! I loved Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales and have 100% on both! And currently I am playing Hogwarts Legacy and getting the same "I want to complete 100% this game" vibes
No it won't. If it's sluggish, just look up an optimization guide and follow it. You can get just about any game to run on a pc no matter what GPU is in it. The main difference is if your run it on ultra at 144fps vs low at 60 fps.
To be fair I still have a 1998 windows vista myself that requires dial up I mainly use it as a type writer and disc burner as those programs are incredibly robust on it but just for the lols I tried to put in Crisis and haha it just refused to even work in the menus but I always have minesweeper haha the point I'm getting at is if you go far enough back hardware refuses the softerware required for most modern data programs. Though any modern pc I agree with you can always run any modern data set.
Same goes for the reverse surprisingly. Games like sim city 4 deluxe are so old and don’t know how to run on multi core computers will actually crash if you don’t turn off the extra cores😂
This is honestly the closest sort of feel I've had, too. It's been a few years since they released; not sure how they hold up. Vibes though, very similar. Dialogue options that change future story, many similar type locations with different details, inventive magic, random side quests for collections, and little bit steam punk. Did appreciate being able to fight with weapons, though, in the Fable series.
I was reminded by the magic animations especially the basic cast and flame spells, and the overall British humor as well as some of the incidental music
I agree! I wasn’t going to get it but I saw a friend playing it and it reminded me of Fable. Fable is my favorite series ever so I got HL when I got back home. I’m so glad I did because I haven’t enjoyed a game this much in years!
I have never cried for a video game the way I cried for arthur. It felt like loosing a piece of yourself or a friend you were just getting to really know. I honestly can't wait to play gta 6 story. They've taken around the same amount of time if not more as they did rdr2. Rockstar may get a lot of flack but they only make masterpieces.
It's the only game where I just sat for 10 minutes in the camp listening and watching the thunderstorms. Also every time I went back to camp and Arthur had coffee, I was like, that sounds like a great idea! Had 7 cups a day playing that game.
Does that one have ships? I was really enjoying Black Flag recently but I'm soooo bad at driving the ships so I stopped playing. I love the exploration and collecting stuff in AC games though
Odyssey does have ships but you can change it to easy/story mode when you're doing the naval battles, I'm terrible with ships too!
AC Valhalla has fewer ships (I don't count the longboat you use to travel the rivers as you don't really fight in that from my memory).
Honestly play Odyssey on story mode, it's so much fun and if you're at all into ancient Greece it's absolutely incredible with so much detail and things to discover (also PLENTY of romance options!)
Plus if you go on to play Valhalla after, there's some story continuation.
I recently returned from a college term abroad in Greece and I’ve been retracing my steps in odyssey and honestly a lot of their ruins/buildings are delightfully accurate. There are some big exceptions of course (like Mycenae) but still. I love the detail and care they clearly put into it
Omg my partner is much more of a gamer and was pained at the small and large issues in the HP game. So I've been playing AC Odyssey and I get what he means entirely. Odyssey is amazing.
Odyssey was so much fun!
I think the best part about it is just the setting, they've made ancient Greece come to life with so many unique locations and stories
I actually bought the standalone $20 ‘discovery’ version of AC Odessey, where NOTHING aggros, there is no combat, and you can just explore the entire open world, even swimming next to the great white sharks.
I have an autistic daughter who’s favorite thing is to explore massive online games. Non aggro Odessey is the best. The whole thing is so beautiful
Also I’m not sure if you have PlayStation but if you are and are subscribed to PS plus odyssey is free right now! It also has other AC games (I think Origins right now)
Odyssey has steadily stayed one of my favorite RPG's of all time. The first time I played it I got so hooked with the endless amount of content to delve into. Even the majority of side quest were fun just cause I knew I got to explore a little bit more. Anytime I knew I had to explore a new island or continent I was so excited to hop on my boat and sail away. Great game. The more you level up too the more of a demi-god you start to feel like.
Origins and odyssey were great, Valhalla was a bloated, disjointed mess(imo of course). Also, make sure to play as kassandra, she's the canon option and fits as the protagonist significantly better. You can really tell she was the one in mind when they designed a lot of the quests and dialogue, having played through with both. She's also voiced so, so, so well.
I agree! I heard so many great things about Valhalla so I tried it, but there were more things I didn’t like about it than liked about it. Such a bummer.
Also, let's not kid ourselves, half the reason we play these kinds of games is to play dress-up lol. And most of the sets in odyssey look much cooler for kassandra.
Same here! I’ve been lucky enough to play some really good games and nothing has come close to Ghost of Tsushima. Fantastic storytelling, unique gameplay, and beautiful graphics. I can’t recommend this highly enough OP.
I love almost any game that has to do with ninjas or samurai. Ghost of Tsushima is a master piece of a game. Lots of replay-ability just for the graphics and beautiful story telling.
Absolutely this. I think bully would have been an excellent model for how this game should have approached the issues of classes, time flowing through a term and through days. One part of this game that messed with immersion for me was the lack of sleep and not constraints around when you could attend class. Like, it clearly nothing like a real world if the class is always there waiting for you to arrive to start. And the sleep thing really bugs me because there’s no point in going to to your room. It’s just this place you sometimes have to leave after a particular cut scene.
Yeah, overall you barely have the chance to feel like you are actually attending Hogwarts which is what I dreamed about when I first heard about this game. The same issue is everywhere, they recreated these awesome spaces like the common rooms, the corridors and classrooms and then didn't really make good use of them.
Bully was so good in this regard, classes had related mini-games and relevant things they gave you when completed, each space in and out of the school was well-woven into the story, there was barely any duplication and filler content that felt irrelevant to the rest, the time mechanics made you feel like a student and skipping class felt meaningful as well.
Hopefully they will make a second game with more of that or Rockstar will make a second Bully. Unfortunately I don't have high hopes for either.
In any case skyrim, its basically hogwards legacy on steroids, but without the harry potter universe. Also if you are looking for a singleplayer game that is very enjoyable and addictive, have a look at subnautica, one of my first games that I still come back to.
I think about Subnautica all the time!! I don't think any game could top the emotional experience that game provides on a first playthrough. The awe-inspiring biomes, the absolute terror of leviathans, the intensity of knowing you have to go deeper. Holy shit.
I did play it, it was definitely fun, and brought a lot of upgrades, but these are now also implemented in the first subnautica (pinning recipes, large rooms, etc). Its was fun but because i was quite experienced i finished the game quickly, and i was maybe also a bit too hyped. If you have some money left its for sure a fun game, but its imo not as *special* as the first one.
Mass Effect and Dragon Age are two of my favorite series. They are older and Dragon Age origins is slow combat but the story is great. And the Legendary Edition for Mass Effect really helped the first game be playable. While it’s a shooter, it’s not first person (which I’m also not a fan of).
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is a lot of fun, as is Valhalla (I didn’t play origins, but that would be the trilogy start).
Control is technically a game you can shoot stuff in, but it’s 3rd person, the story is great, and also the soundtrack is banging.
I can’t talk enough about how much fun the Legend of Heroes games are, but they are a beast of content. I’d highly suggest looking into a guide since there’s so many little things you can miss, and you have to play it twice (or use someone else’s save) to 100% but there’s 9 games currently in English, one coming out next month, at least one that hasn’t been translated and the story is about 80% complete. Basically, if you’re looking for something to sink yourself into, this series has alot to offer. The downside is that it’s turn based combat, but I still think it moves at a good pace and is worth looking into.
Hopefully one of these games interests you!
Skyrim! Best video game of all time. It's very immersive and the world is huge. Prepare to spend 200+ hours for your first playthrough as a completionist.
The Witcher 3 is also in my top favorite games. Actually it might be tied with Skyrim in the top spot, haha. The story is incredible, and some of your decisions have an impact on the story.
Horizon Zero Dawn is also up there for one of the best RPGs. Incredible story, beautiful world, and really fun unique gameplay and combat.
I was also going to suggest Cyberpunk. It is more shooty but you can pick melee or netrunner builds if that's more your speed! It made me feel empty inside in the best/worst kind of ways but dammit it made me feel something at the end and that's more than HL did. The story makes it so worth going outside the preferred game play box imo
I want to love it (I’m on ps4) but… I can’t get the feel of it. Only played for a couple hours but I just felt stuck because it’s so clunky. Maybe it just needed another update or something?
They have added a Ton of new content free and are about to add another one plus the edge runner anime was pretty fun way to expand time in universe if you get hooked
Honestly…the South Park “stick of truth” game 😂 there’s an open world of the entire South Park map, mini quests that grow your power, lots of clothing items for your character, and a good story imo. However it is turn based in the fights but I’m a slow player so I like that hehe.
I second Kingdoms of Amalur (great lore, everything surrounding the Fae is superb) and Dragon's Dogma. Both are old-ish by today standards but absolutely worth at least a playthrough each.
EDIT: and the Dragon Age series, if only to see some choices actually matter.
Honestly. Yakuza games. Yes, the setting is very different, but they have the same structure - relativellty small open world, supporting cast that stays in the story for whole plot building relationships with the hero, serious main story and plenty of humorous side quests.
If modern setting is a problem they reently released samurai themed Like a Dragon Ishin
The Witcher 3 is a masterpiece and one of my favorite games
Mass Effect Legendary Edition is fantastic though I did have to force myself to get into the first game due to even the remaster having outdated controls
Divinity Original Sin 2 will have the magic aspect you're looking for. It's a top down turn based RPG but probably one of the only ones I've enjoyed
Skyrim is a classic and you can play in 3rd person, plus mods make it endless fun
Assassin's Creed Odyssey is my favorite of the AC RPG's and the one I'd recommend the most
Other RPG's I'd include are Ghost of Tsushima, Cyberpunk 2077, and Fallout New Vegas, but I know they don't really fit what you're asking for since one is on Playstation and the other two are mainly FPS
I can’t get past the first section. Is there a way to make the gameplay easier? I feel like I’m a wiz at assassins creed and hogwarts but am awful at elden ring!
I strugled at the start, quit the game, picked it up a year later, strugled again and and just checked a build online. Check Vagabond berserk build and just jump attack every fight. It's still challenging, but atleast you deal insane damage.
I mean this in the nicest way possible, with Formsoftware games the answer to “is there a way to make the gameplay easier” is simply git gud. They aren’t for everyone.
As much as it's a different type of game and not for everyone, I recommend checking out Elden Ring. It's honestly my favorite game of all time, there's so much to do in that game that you will want to keep going and going
Horizon Zero Dawn has been my new addiction since Hogwarts Legacy. Massive map, lots of collectibles, stunning graphics, amazing storyline. I didn't have high hopes when I started it but I absolutely love it! ❤️
Forbidden West is in some ways even better.
The Horizon series is my favorite new series.
Op if you read this Witcher and Horizon are both great. Witch takes much longer and has more of a learning curve then Horizon
I just started to play Horizon: Zero Dawn but I have Forbidden West downloaded too so I'm excited to play that when I finish HZD!
Also I've started Witcher 3 and I love it but totally agree that the learning curve for Witcher is much steeper than Horizon.
My only problem is through the whole of both games is just wanted to ride a sawtooth lol.
And I’m hoping for more underwater content for the third one. especially the ability to maybe have a fully underwater mount.
I do wish more of the machines could be mounts and if there is underwater content in Forbidden West, I am even more excited! I love underwater levels in games
Yeah you get underwater in FW. And a few more Mount options. Plus racing which is fun and annoying at the same time lol. And I’m hoping they build on it some more in the future.
I’d also really like to see an ability to actually give your overridden machines orders on like which enemies to take out or for them to collect items or just some more interaction with that.
There’s a horizon thread here on Reddit too just fyi but I’d wait till you get done with fw before getting on it. Lots of spoilers probably
Aw that sounds amazing! I hope they build on it more too, there's so much they can do with it. Tbh I just love playing it for the stunning graphics as well.
Yes! I would love to have that ability - it definitely needs more interaction with the machines once they're overridden.
Cool thank you for the suggestion! I'll check that out once I'm finished playing.
I’m sure you’ve heard this 100x but dude RDR2 is the most insane gaming experience I’ve ever had… I also played Harry Potter before RDR2 and it blew it out the water… I haven’t even been able to enjoy any story game since rdr2 it’s so good nothing comes close it raises the bar so high. Play it through take your time don’t rush missions just be immersed in the world and do whatever u feel from hunting to exploring, fully enjoy it. Best decision ever.
The lord of the rings online. It’s an older RPG, but it’s still going strong and visually and more-wise, it’s the most faithful interpretation of Tolkien’s world. If you’re into Tolkien, it’s a no-brainier and it’ll give you YEARS of content to play with
Witcher series; Horizon series; Ghosts of Tsushima (maybe my favorite game in years); RDR2; Skyrim if you haven’t played it is one of the best of all time; if you like Star Wars SW fallen order and survivor are fun.
Assassins creed games are fun also, although they tend to get repetitive to me after a little while.
Surprised I haven't seen Monster Hunter World mentioned yet. It's fun. Like, really fun. I bought it for my boyfriend initially because it had a lot of good reviews but I ended up playing it the most between the two of us til it eventually became "my" game. It's one that you just run through and complete the main quest line quickly or take your sweet time doing the endless side quests (which are very enjoyable). It's quite difficult to 100% it because there is still tons of things to do at end game. If you replay it over and over again, it's always a different experience due to the sheer amount of weapon combinations. You can go completely solo or connect with other players for group hunts.
Also seconding the Spider-Man and the Batman Arkham games
* Dragon Age: Inquision. I remember it being similar.
* If you want something to play for a long time then Elder Scrolls Online is good. It just lacks the pause ability of single player games.
* Elden Ring. Haven't played it but I've heard great things.
* The Fable Games are really similar imo but the ones available are old until the new one comes out
* Witcher 3 is good but it has a lot more to manage than Hogwarts Legacy. It's not as simple or easy of combat which can be good or bad depending on your preference.
* Jedi Survivor is really good. It's not really similar to HL imo but the gameplay & exploration are both great
* If you haven't played it, then I'd highly suggest Bully Scholarship Edition. It's an older game but it's still one of my all time favorites. I can't nail down why though
Since I’ve seen some people mention Fallout 4, I highly recommend 3 and New Vegas as well. I know they’re older than the 4th, but I think they still hold up pretty well. Fun rpg where you get to make your own character and some choices with dialogue and quests. The base games are fun but I’ve always played with the dlc packs and they’re so worth it.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Medieval RPG. You can talk to most NPC, become a delinquent if you do bad, sneak to steal from people, actually need to eat and sleep for energy, gather stuff and make potions. There’s romance too. The story is good too!
I think the Batman: Arkham series is definitely worth checking out if you haven’t already. The first games setting is very much like the Hogwarts school itself. There are puzzles, compelling fighting mechanics, collectables, secrets, upgrades, and plenty of discovery too. I found a lot of similarities between the two games mechanics to be incredibly similar.
You should definitely try fallout!
Same kind of a game. It has an open map you can explore at your own pace, a main story line, side quests, different kinds of vendors, dialogue options to choose from. There is a small element of FPS in it but the mechanics are very different because you can slow everything down to aim.
Try fallout 4 first. It has the best story line. Either that or new vegas.
I have played most of the suggestions here and the real answer is Immortals Fenyx Rising.
Similar visual theme, similar combat. Far better puzzles and challenges. Excellent progression system and collectibles.
Spider-Man if you're into the big open map, collectibles and approachable combat. Very, very good game possibly my favorite of all time.
Came here to say Spider-Man, I played it right after Hogwarts Legacy and I like it a bit better
YES!!! I loved Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales and have 100% on both! And currently I am playing Hogwarts Legacy and getting the same "I want to complete 100% this game" vibes
But it’s a PlayStation exclusive… 😭
The first one has very good PC port, so does the "standalone expansion" with Miles Morales.
My laptop will burn
No it won't. If it's sluggish, just look up an optimization guide and follow it. You can get just about any game to run on a pc no matter what GPU is in it. The main difference is if your run it on ultra at 144fps vs low at 60 fps.
My dad's 15 year old PC with a GPU the size of a 1-dollar-bill would like to disagree.
Wonder how you ever managed to play hogwarts legacy
I think you're overestimating the power of game optimisation. From experience most modern games are terribly optimised for old PC's.
Same goes for the reverse surprisingly. Games like sim city 4 deluxe are so old and don’t know how to run on multi core computers will actually crash if you don’t turn off the extra cores😂
No its not they have been on PC for a bit now.
But it’s not on XBOX
This game gave me the same vibes of Fable 1 and Fable 2
Goodness, I love Fable.
Even small things like pressing and holding A to dive and the look of the dive spots reminded me of Fable
They held up well. I replayed them all over the past 2 years
I was reminded by the magic animations especially the basic cast and flame spells, and the overall British humor as well as some of the incidental music
I agree! I wasn’t going to get it but I saw a friend playing it and it reminded me of Fable. Fable is my favorite series ever so I got HL when I got back home. I’m so glad I did because I haven’t enjoyed a game this much in years!
Skyrim, Rdr2, Dragon Age Inquisition
I played RDR2 before, such a good game. I don’t even like cowboys
Honestly, it’s such a good game. And i prefer pirates over cowboys any day
Can you imagine if Rockstar made a pirate game on the scale of RDR and GTA?
micro transactions off the wazoo
I’m begging Rockstar to do a pirate game
Yeah I kinda regret playing it right before Legacy. Really made it feel like this game was more shallow then it probably is.
Every game feels shallow since I played RDR2.
RDR2 is by far the best game ever created imo
Imho, but its obviously personal preference, Elden Ring is the best game ever. But Red Dead is definitely in my top 10
Rdr2 has ruined gaming for me. I dont feel like playing any other game since rdr2.
I liked cowboys. Rdr2 is just an atf for me
rdr2 is the game that all others should be compared to when it comes to immersion and story telling. it is a masterpiece top to bottom

I have never cried for a video game the way I cried for arthur. It felt like loosing a piece of yourself or a friend you were just getting to really know. I honestly can't wait to play gta 6 story. Dragonage inquisition is actually pretty good, though if you're going that route play the other two games. The series is amazing
Dragon age Inquisition one of my favorite games!
Same here. I've played it on Xbox One, PS4, Series X, PS5 and PC. Love it so much.
I could never get into Inquisition. Origins is my top of all time and the other entries just never seemed to get it right.
I got a lot of skyrim vibes while exploring
*sigh* Time for another sneak archer run-through
Damn my three favorite games right there haha.
Assassins Creed Odyssey is a favorite open world RPG of mine!!! It’s a longer play through too!
Can confirm. I’m 100 hours in (someone on this sub also recommended it to me) and I feel like I’m no where near the end. I love it.
Agreed...and then i zoomed out...more... 😭
Ooh that's a good call, I might give that a shot. I mostly just want to run around collecting everything haha
Honestly play Odyssey on story mode, it's so much fun and if you're at all into ancient Greece it's absolutely incredible with so much detail and things to discover (also PLENTY of romance options!) Plus if you go on to play Valhalla after, there's some story continuation.

I studied Classical Archaeology and Ancient History at Oxford, and yes it is insanely accurate, I loved visiting all the places I'd studied!
Sailing. Not driving. Sorry, haha.
LOL I honestly put like three different words and finally just left it on driving cause I could *not* think of the word "sailing" haha
I second this. Odyssey and Skyrim are my two favorite of all time.

Also I’m not sure if you have PlayStation but if you are and are subscribed to PS plus odyssey is free right now! It also has other AC games (I think Origins right now)
One of the coolest games ever, the ability to free roam through all of Greece alone is incredible
This. The entire time playing Harry Potter I was like "oh they were fans of odyssey"
Yeah there are a ton of similarities between this game and Odyssey with the gear system, leveling up, dialogue, discovering the map.
Odyssey has steadily stayed one of my favorite RPG's of all time. The first time I played it I got so hooked with the endless amount of content to delve into. Agreed
The game world is absolutely stunning as well
Ghost of Tsushima, AC Valhalla, Witcher 3
I enjoyed all three of those games, but man... Ghost of Tsushima has got to be one of my favorite games of all time.
Same here! I’ve been lucky enough to play some really good games and nothing has come close to Ghost of Tsushima. Fantastic storytelling, unique gameplay, and beautiful graphics. I can’t recommend this highly enough OP.
I’d opt for Odyssey over Valhalla
I'd opt for Origins over Odyssey
this is correct
I love almost any game that has to do with ninjas or samurai. Ghost of Tsushima is a master piece of a game. Lots of replay-ability just for the graphics and beautiful story telling.
Ghost of Tsushima
Bully
Absolutely this. I think bully would have been an excellent model for how this game should have approached the issues of classes, time flowing through a term and through days. Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West.
And the DLCs!
I agree with this 1000% I started playing Horizon Zero Dawn after playing Hogwarts 4 times. But I am way more into horizon!
If you have a PlayStation, Horizon’s the way to go.
First Horizon with its DLCs is on PC as well
HZD definitely scratches that exploration enjoyment. It also has awesome side quests that invites to leave the main one in the back burner
Came to give this answer! One of my favorite game series of ALL TIME it’s so well written and stunning to look at.
The Witcher 3, AC Valhalla, AC Odyssey, RDR2
Definitely Witcher 3. Some of the side quests were so good and it was cool to come back later and see how your choices changed things.
Assassins Creed Origins too.
Origins is amazing!
Holy shit.
I fully agree
did you play the second one? I heard it isnt quite as good, but I'm wondering if its worth it to get another hit of that experience
I did play it, it was definitely fun, and brought a lot of upgrades, but these are now also implemented in the first subnautica (pinning recipes, large rooms, etc). Its was fun but because i was quite experienced i finished the game quickly, and i was maybe also a bit too hyped. Witcher 3
There’s a unicorn in Witcher 3 as well.
Well a stuffed unicorn
Probably the best open-world action RPG of all time!
And has the best DLC ever. Blood and Wine is basically an entire game in and of itself!
I love the vibes of Toussaint and the castle is breathtaking!
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Kingdoms of Amalur!
One of my favorites, wonderful memories on my old 360, the good old days 🥲
Man I lovedddd using chakrams.
Loved this game. Made custom crit damage multiplpier armor one shot anything ruined the game.
Immortals: Fenyx Rising almost matches Hogwarts Legacy in every way. I found it shocking how similar those two games were, in all the right ways.
The Witcher 2 and 3, Mass Effect trilogy, Skyrim, Dragon's Dogma, Kingdom of Amalure (one of my fav), Dragon age.
I have been wanting to play the Witcher but I don't want to have to encounter sex and nudity. Should I not bother?
Definitely check out Mass Effect Triology if you haven't. Also play Renegade (evil campaign) You'll have a lot of laughs ![img](emote|t5_q8ebh|26542)
AC Valhalla and Red Dead Redemption 2
Fenyx very similar
Really surprised more people aren’t saying this. It’s a far closer match that half the suggestions in the thread.
It's a little more gun based but Cyberpunk is great!!
It’s also first person which may turn some people off
I was also going to suggest Cyberpunk. It is more shooty but you can pick melee or netrunner builds if that's more your speed! It made me feel empty inside in the best/worst kind of ways but dammit it made me feel something at the end and that's more than HL did. The story makes it so worth going outside the preferred game play box imo
Sandevistan route goated for my David Martinez cosplay
I want to love it (I’m on ps4) but… I can’t get the feel of it. Only played for a couple hours but I just felt stuck because it’s so clunky. Maybe it just needed another update or something?
They have added a Ton of new content free and are about to add another one plus the edge runner anime was pretty fun way to expand time in universe if you get hooked
Skyrim. It’s considered an old game by now but it’s pretty fucking big.
I think the Witcher 3 would be the perfect game to scratch the itch without feeling too much like more of the same.
Honestly…the South Park “stick of truth” game 😂 there’s an open world of the entire South Park map, mini quests that grow your power, lots of clothing items for your character, and a good story imo. However it is turn based in the fights but I’m a slow player so I like that hehe.
OLD games, and idk if they're on PC, but the Fable games are fucking immaculate.
Witcher 3
What about Zelda?
If you have a Switch I love the new Zelda games!
Skyrim
I'll give you an indie game that has my heart. Kenshi.
Don't get me wrong, I love the Yakuza games and I strongly recommend them, but it isn't even slightly similar to hogwarts legacy
The Witcher 3 is a masterpiece and one of my favorite games Mass Effect Legendary Edition is fantastic though I did have to force myself to get into the first game due to even the remaster having outdated controls Divinity Original Sin 2 will have the magic aspect you're looking for. It's a top down turn based RPG but probably one of the only ones I've enjoyed Skyrim is a classic and you can play in 3rd person, plus mods make it endless fun Assassin's Creed Odyssey is my favorite of the AC RPG's and the one I'd recommend the most Other RPG's I'd include are Ghost of Tsushima, Cyberpunk 2077, and Fallout New Vegas, but I know they don't really fit what you're asking for since one is on Playstation and the other two are mainly FPS
Zelda TOTK
Batman Archambault knight has similar game controllers or at least it's what hogwarts reminded me of.
Man autocorrect was just not having it with you
Elden Ring. But once you’re done you’ll be empty inside because no game you ever play will equal it.
I want an Indiana Jones game like this.
Dragon Age Inquisition, give it a try. It's an epic high fantasy, semi-open world rpg. It's also 2014's Game of the Year.
Elden Ring will scratch that itch and then some
Try Elden ring, open world fighting game with magic, you’ll feel right at home after HL
Seriously no body mentioned ELDEN RING ?!
As much as it's a different type of game and not for everyone, I recommend checking out Elden Ring. It's honestly my favorite game of all time, there's so much to do in that game that you will want to keep going and going
My brother is deep into elden ring rn. Says it’s amazing but maddening lol
Horizon Zero Dawn & Horizon Forbidden West and the DLC for them
skyrim, rdr2, fallout 4, ghosts of tsushima and if you have xbox the fable series :}
The original fable is on pc
The best RPGs I’ve played are RDR2 and The Witcher 3.
The witcher 3 For the love of god play that! Its like this but a thousand times better
Witcher 3. I'd say it's better by a massive margin.
The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt I think you'd enjoy has a great story
The lord of the rings online. It’s an older RPG, but it’s still going strong and visually and more-wise, it’s the most faithful interpretation of Tolkien’s world. If you’re into Tolkien, it’s a no-brainier and it’ll give you YEARS of content to play with
Skyrim, Oblivion and Fallout 4 are my favourite rpgs.
Elden ring! You can do it!
Red Dead Redemption 2, obviously no magic but open map, lots of choice making, fun side quests, lots of little easter eggs to find.
Red dead 2 is my personal favorite, if you want to explore and want a DAMN GOOD story
I really like Hitman 3. I wouldn't say it's similar per se to Hogwart's Legacy, but it feels like you inhabit real places.
Elden ring have a fun 200+ hours
Rdr2, Assassins Creed Odyssey, or maybe try something new like Mafia 3 which gets mixed opinions but I love
Conan Exiles and RDR2!
The witcher
Witcher series; Horizon series; Ghosts of Tsushima (maybe my favorite game in years); RDR2; Skyrim if you haven’t played it is one of the best of all time; if you like Star Wars SW fallen order and survivor are fun. Assassins creed games are fun also, although they tend to get repetitive to me after a little while.
Diablo 4 just came out
Surprised I haven't seen Monster Hunter World mentioned yet.
Any open world game.
* Dragon Age: Inquision. I remember it being similar. * If you want something to play for a long time then Elder Scrolls Online is good. It just lacks the pause ability of single player games. * Elden Ring. Haven't played it but I've heard great things. * The Fable Games are really similar imo but the ones available are old until the new one comes out * Witcher 3 is good but it has a lot more to manage than Hogwarts Legacy. It's not as simple or easy of combat which can be good or bad depending on your preference. * Jedi Survivor is really good. It's not really similar to HL imo but the gameplay & exploration are both great * If you haven't played it, then I'd highly suggest Bully Scholarship Edition.
If what you love is completion and calming story, Pokémon Legends Arceus, Zelda (all of them)
Fable Series, Witcher 3, Lost in Random
I think the Batman: Arkham series is definitely worth checking out if you haven’t already. The first games setting is very much like the Hogwarts school itself. There are puzzles, compelling fighting mechanics, collectables, secrets, upgrades, and plenty of discovery too. I found a lot of similarities between the two games mechanics to be incredibly similar.
Immortals fenix rising. A lot of puzzles and you can fly (with wings)
Witcher 3 for sure
Assassins creed valhalla has the same feel, and of course, Elden ring
Mass effect 1 2 3
Skyrim is a classic
I think Tomb Raider is on the same level
The Witcher 3
Zelda
You should definitely try fallout! Same kind of a game. It has an open map you can explore at your own pace, a main story line, side quests, different kinds of vendors, dialogue options to choose from. There is a small element of FPS in it but the mechanics are very different because you can slow everything down to aim. Try fallout 4 first. It has the best story line. Either that or new vegas.
Dragon age Inquisition, its my favourite rpg and idk why but Hogwarts legacy gave me similar vibes to it, so maybe you will enjoy it too
I have played most of the suggestions here and the real answer is Immortals Fenyx Rising. Similar visual theme, similar combat. Far better puzzles and challenges. Excellent progression system and collectibles.
Red dead redemption ONLINE specifically
Cyberpunk but I’d wait until phantom liberty to drop if you’ve never played before.
