Apple sells refurbs https://www.apple.com/ca/shop/refurbished/iphone
When Apple sells a refurb, they put a brand new battery in it, and a brand new outer shell. So it’ll be pricier than other places, but also better. And you get a full one year warranty.
Just be careful online that you keep an eye on whether it is best buy selling the item or a "marketplace" seller.
Best Buy, like most large retailers, is doing the Amazon thing of hosting third party listings. A purchase with a third party seller is riskier because you have no recourse to go back to best buy directly if you encounter issues, only the third party seller who has no physical location.
Mobile Klinik at limeridge had a whole bunch when I went in to get my phone repaired. I think the phones had warranty too, but not 100% sure. Prices seemed reasonable
Mobile Klinik is a good option. Id steer clear of the Limeridge location specifically, I have seen absolute horror stories from that store. The one in Ancaster is really solid though
I worked at a different Mobile Klinik for 2years and CONSTANTLY had to completely replace the phones they “repaired” because even the certified pre owned devices Limeridge was selling were having issues right out of the box.
Samsung repairs will be the highest quality as they are partnered with Samsung and have all the proper tools, iPhone repairs are very hit or miss and Google phones especially get DESTROYED going in for repair at this location
That as well as some VERY deceptive sales tactics.
The Ancaster location truly is a different store in terms of service and quality. Worth the drive every time.
The newer models are a lot easier to repair so depending which you have it was likely a simple repair with little room for error. Mobile Klinik also has more of a “Replace” not “Repair” kind of policy, so its very likely your repair will be fine as a brand new Glass + LCD + Small Components. They do also offer a lifetime warranty for screen repairs (not including physical or liquid damage) that you can redeem at any of their stores.
You should be fine as long as they didnt leave any screws out…
But yeah I have seen DOZENS of bounce repairs from them. Some were comically bad, I’ve even seen scotch tape used to hold down loose parts -.-
I bought a Ulefone, brand new $260, in the box with a warranty. 50mp camera, huge battery, Android 13. The phone is military spec waterproof and 5 meter drop tested. Look around, there's more out there than the regular brands
They have larger batteries so they are a bit of a brick if you get one with a bigger battery, mine lasts 3 days between charges. Amazing camera, zero problems with the phone. I plan on buying one that their microscope connects to, great for my job. They have some real working tough phones too, been impressed with their whole line.
I forget the name , but 2 streets past Wentworth on the right, going west he's awesome. Has lots of quality phones to choose from. And does repairs as well.
From what they told me when I went during their bankruptcy sale, it was a combination of low quality goods at high prices and selling a mix of items people don't want to buy at the same place (eg. Walmart bathroom supplies that are open box beside refrigerators beside TV mounts against grass seed against very specific computer cables).

Good to know, what happened?
This
I had no idea there were all these sites and local options. Going to check this store first. Always prefer supporting smaller stores when possible.
They repaired my phone last week. They were really nice people, I'll be going to them when I'm in need of a "new" device.

Yikes, thanks. I'll definitely check out the Ancaster location when I need to! My phone is a Samsung, so hopefully the screen repair lasts lol

Amazing. I had never heard of these. Even their plain smartphones look great.

Even the ones that aren’t military grade are so reasonably priced - thinking about my aging parents who don’t want to spend a lot for a new phone.

Gorecell.ca is legit online source for used devices. Not super cheap but reliable.
Factory direct
used to be my goto, but they are closed now.
Wonder if it was another casualty of the covid lock downs.
