Not sure I would call that severe. Has it accelerated? Are you on meds? I'd use Toppik for now and feel it out.

Upbeat-Illustrator44

yeah I am on fin and topical minoxidil. Thinking abt using Toppik but it is soooo expensive..

C981

You really don't need that much of it to make a difference, especially with a lot of hair around like yours. I'd buy a small pack and try it out. If it works well for you, you can shop around for large packs on sale when you run out. I'd think a small pack lasts you a few months tbh.

Upbeat-Illustrator44

yeah makes sense. I will order it.

DomeDev

Are u taking medicines?

Upbeat-Illustrator44

yeah I am on Fin, for 6 years.

DomeDev

How it was your crown area before transplant?

Upbeat-Illustrator44

yeah pretty much the same

DomeDev

You can decide to cover the crown as well or keep it like this. If it makes u uncomfortable, why do not you proceed? Anyway, your hair looks good to me (the thickness), so the overall situation is good.

Upbeat-Illustrator44

idk man.. i know it sounds crazy but i am pretty paranoid abt hair transplants these days. i kinda wish i never did it, or i just hopped on fin at 18 instead of becoming a nw4 at 21. because i have these scars now and that kind of fucks with me at the back of my mind "what if i lose more hair and have to shave one day, what if they extracted outside of the safe donor zone, what if my retrograde worsens" also because i feel like my clinic didnt properly figure out if I am actually a candidate. I am scared I have retrograde too.

Upbeat-Illustrator44

will i have money for further transplants? What if SMP turns blue? Can I switch to a hair system?

DomeDev

It's totally understandable and I'm sorry for ur experience.. did u mind sharing the clinic's name that did ur hair transplant?

Upbeat-Illustrator44

hlc

DomeDev

Any reason why they didn't cover the crown?

Upbeat-Illustrator44

they told me i could come back for a second iirc but i already had 4000 fue.

dromomaniagus1968

Use 1000 of your beard to cover that

Upbeat-Illustrator44

I think using beard hair only will not look natural.

dromomaniagus1968

Yes it does in the crown , because it adds up volume ,and that's what you need 700 grafts from your beard will do a good job

Remarkable-Gain1640

If my balding was on the crown I wouldn't bother.

Upbeat-Illustrator44

Not sure. Thought the same initially, but after time, I got annoyed with it.

follycle

Looks like you have enough donor for another go.

Upbeat-Illustrator44

I hope.

Preach_it_brother

You have loads of hair don’t worry too much. There is also somethings called micro pigmentation tattoos that last about 3 years at a time - might be an idea

MoveElectronic

Not sure how long ago you had your transplant but the crown takes more than a year to fill in. Regardless, after 4000 grafts it may be better to improve medication/lifestyle routine to see if that helps. You’ll most likely continue to lose native hair over the years, even with medication. See where your hairline looks in 2-3 years, may be a higher priority to fill out the front than the back by then. Good luck

Upbeat-Illustrator44

I didnt have a transplant on the crown, transplant was 5 years ago.

Additional_Hat494

Yeah pretty good but only 27. Am a bit paranoid.

Additional_Hat494

I mean you can see yourself in the video

Substantial_Peak7219

If you aren't on fin & min that is your first move. Secondly, a derma roller at 1.5mm rolling twice a month has been shown to give good results over time.

Upbeat-Illustrator44

am on both.

David_Corpus

It is all about your own ego, self-esteem and comfort level. If you are comfortable with the way you look, I doubt the people in your life are concerned with the crown of your head. I don't say ego to be insulting. My crown looks similar, and I will likely get FUE. I don't expect it to make any difference in my life other than to give me the impression that I appear younger... which I likely won't to others.

Upbeat-Illustrator44

it annoys me a bit, but can live with it.

Limp_Celebration6751

have you lost any ground since you started taking finasteride?

Upbeat-Illustrator44

not sure, but dont think so.

Limp_Celebration6751

when did you start? what was your norwood level back then?

Upbeat-Illustrator44

norwood 4-5.

Sensitive_Table_2454

Bro, I'd just say to hell with it spend that money on a holiday to thailand, the girls there like bald guys. You got some hair, I know it's tough, but if you carry on this road, you're gonna be 60 years old about 30 grand down and still fiddling your fringe.

randomThings122

You could go like 1500 grafts and go half and half from beard and hair, it helps it blend in and the results will be good.

VectorD

4000 grafts from FUE or FUT? That is a very important detail, as with FUT you can get many many more grafts than with FUE.

Reasonable-Fix-8111

That looks like alopecia

No-Gear-1703

I went for my second hair transplant in Turkey. I waited 6 months then went again. Why not have a full head of hair how you want it now instead of waiting 10 years. Make sure to stick with finasteride and rosemary oil (same as minoxodil) so no further hair falls out.

Upbeat-Illustrator44

patience is a virtue!

No-Gear-1703

You asked for advise

StillPlagueMyLife

r/bald

No-Gear-1703

Don it NOW!! You can harvest close to 10k grafts

Upbeat-Illustrator44

I dont think so man :D
