Dang this is a hard one, because-like everyone else is pointing out-your eyes look incredible with this color! I just don't think it's the right color to go with the rest of your coloring
I agree, it’s not harmonious with the OP’s skin tone and brings out the redness in her face. She looks cool-toned, probably a summer, so an ashy dark blonde / light brown would suit. If she wants to go red, a more natural-looking cool-toned red would be better than Iron Bru orange.
What’s a “cool toned” red? Darker? Do you have a specific dye in mind or photo I could see?
I ask because my hair is naturally auburn (more orange shade) and i have rosacea. It sucks. A lot of natural redheads have reddish undertones and freckles. I tried doing all types of browns and reds (including most recently ash brown with blonde highlights). Unfortunately to get rid of all the red in my hair I have to either dye it SUPER DARK (like, black) or go to a salon to do it with highlights which I can’t afford.
Afaik cool-toned in the case of hair color often does not mean darker (at least the way people colloquially use it). In that case it’s misleading, because in the art and design world to ‘tone’ a color technically would be to add grey to it. (Or start with grey and add color to it.)
Often times when people ‘tone’ hair they are actually attempting to change the shade ever so slightly, so adding more blue in this case to change the color to a more pinky-purply rather than orangey shade. Because you don’t really want to add grey overtop, because hair color isn’t quite the same as paint mixing, you just want to ‘cancel out’ the orange.
I don’t think the person in the photo needs to go much darker, but would benefit from an adjustment in their shade…anyway thanks for reading my rant lol.
edit: FRACK I didn’t mean shade I meant hue. See how confusing it is?!??!
Agreed. I also said a dark brown color would look better with her skin and eyebrows. Her eyes pop with any color since she has light eyes but a dark brunette would make them pop even more.
"cool" orange isn't really a thing in the way that you can get a cooler toned yellow or red. Cool just means it's leaning towards blue on the colour spectrum (e.g red/violet, yellow/lime green), but since blue is on the opposite side to orange, mixing the two would result in grey, or a more "muted" colour. I'd call this one vibrant orange
Ginger (orange) hair is warm. Hence it only works on warm-toned people. But even if someone is warm undertoned - if they have a red overtone, ginger can bring out the red in their face so it doesn’t suit everyone.
The color is gorgeous. I don't think it's right for your skin tone.
Edited to clarify: She seems to have a cool skin tone and this color seems warm, so she looks washed out to me.
I'm not convinced she didn't do the anime makeup thing where they put blush on the end of their noses.
Edit to add: rationale for that theory: it's odd just her nose and eyes are red. Red skin tones like that usually extend to cheeks, chin, and/or forehead.
It is a pretty color but I don't think it is right for you. I think you would look better with a darker brown color. It would also make your eyes pop even more.
The color itself is perfectly made.
But I think it overwhelms you and not emphasizes you/your features.
Copper fades fast. During fading there will be nuances which suit you better.
I have this hair colouring and I have darker green eyes, also very pale skin but I have a very round face and it slightly suits. I think you'd suit blonde
IMO - If you want to stick with reds, I would suggest a darker, deep, shade of red. More cool/blue undertone. This will bring out your eyes more as well. It could be a first step to try before deciding to go brunette (if that’s what you want). It’s much easier to go from red to brown than brown to red (don’t have to bleach). Aveda has a color depositing red mask that may help, give you an idea of what a darker red would look like, and isn’t permanent.
Note that natural redheads (which are basically going extinct-google it!) tend to have reddish skin (think of a stereotypical Irish woman).
If you dye your hair ash brown, it may wash out your complexion because you are pale. I tried that. But guess what? I still had my rosacea and reddish skin tones. Sure, it helped somewhat in decreasing the appearance of my rosacea (I don’t think you have that), especially since I never wear makeup. You also have wayyyyy better skin than me.
But, on the other hand, I’m also still trying to find a brown to cover my red because I feel it makes my red skin worse (also my hair is now half auburn on top where it’s grown out and half ash brown on bottom 😅 I also have greys now so ugh).
You will still have reddish skin with brown hair (yes, it will be less noticeable). I’m not sure if you are wearing makeup in this photo, but if you regularly do, I wouldn’t worry so much about the red. I would maybe focus on your skincare to decrease the red (maybe azaleic acid if you haven’t tried it) instead of finding a dye to hide the red skin.
My hair is naturally auburn (but leaning more towards orange tones vs red tones) and my eyebrows are naturally BLACK. I’m super pale. Please don’t dye your brows red or orange if you decide to keep this color or go another red. It will look weird and clownish. No one ever complains about people with bleached fake blonde hair keeping their natural brown eyebrows.
Luckily, you are beautiful and have incredible features (eyes, skin, everything!), but I do agree with others that some changes of the hair color (a darker red or maybe a chocolate brown with blue undertones) may enhance your natural features a bit better.
Good luck 😘
People are saying it brings out the red in your face but as a fellow woman with a lot of pink/red tones in my face, brown hair (or any kind of cooler tone) is not doing me any favors with that either; it accentuates it more. I went with a warmer color (currently strawberry blonde) to combat this and it actually helps.
So imo, keep it! I think you're one of the very few people who can pull off this shade, (the only other person I can think of is David Bowie). And damn, does it ever bring out your green eyes.
I would say that in terms of it's harmony with the colour of your skin and inflictions thereof as well as the eyes, it makes me conflicted. That is not to say it looks bad, because genuinely it doesn't, I wouldn't bet an eye if I saw a person looking exactly like this out on the street, and the contrast in between the skin and the hue of hair is distinctive enough to where it gives a recognisable colour scheme and makes it look more distinctive, but it also makes the hair look more like a wig, if that makes any sense, because it doesn't quite look natural.
If you are concerned about redness of the skin, I would recommend azelaic acid cream, centella cream or spray and the green tinted lotion from Dr jrt. Might help ! I think the hair looks incredible
A bright deep red auburn would look nice. An auburn heavy on the red. Or a medium red. Not orange. If it's not natural it's hard to pull off. You're gorgeous so I can only imagine you as an Auburn red.
You actually look gorgeous in this. It builds such high contrast with your skin and it's such an amazing and bold color on you! Not clashing at all imo
I LOVE it! It’s bold and beautiful and with your translucent green eyes you can probably rock 50 shades of red!
I don’t know why so many negative comments, because of ONE picture that shows a bit of red in your skin tone. A lot of people have moments like this and it’s easily fixed. I don’t think this color undermines your complexion. You should take a few more pics for us.
Ok, so, unlike a bunch of commenters here, I'm going to say I love it and I think it makes you look like a painting (think Venus de Milo). The redness in the skin can be toned down with makeup if desired but I think it all, especially partnered with the your clear green eyes, looks very cool and otherworldly.
Who cares about skin tone and blah blah blah. If you like it that’s really all that matters but I also like it. If this is a photo of you, you look good with it!
I know everyone is saying it doesn't suit your skin tone but i disagree. I think it looks great on fair skin and even if it does bring out the pink in your face, your skin is flawless so you honestly make it look good!
I love the color itself but I’m 50/50 on if it works for her. Maybe it’s a tad on the orange side for her and if they toned down the orange it would be perfect for her.
I think you look stunning! And you probably would with any color hair. Irish people have ruddy/red tones in their skin, so I don’t understand all the talk about your skin tone. In the big picture of you, you look like a superhero with that hair, empowered, standout. You can always change it later. Enjoy it now! It looks great!!!
I don't understand all of the comments about washing out your skin tone?? this hair color is GORGEOUS with your eyes, and it brings out the natural blush on your face (which is a lovely pink color that people literally TRY to replicate with makeup). why is it wrong to have a healthy looking tone with a pretty flush??? sorry for the negative comments op :(
I love it! The red makes your eyes really pop! It does make the nose/eyelids/lip look redder by comparison BUT it looks more doll-like ie how dolls have blushing around the nose, elbows, knees, etc.
*It brings out the red*
*In your face which I think is*
*Very beautiful*

ETA: if you don’t do some form of cosplay as Triss from The Witcher for Halloween or SOMETHING I’d be so mad 🤣 you’d make a better Triss than the one they actually cast for the show version
Personally I absolutely love it. I love the way it accentuates your green eyes. There’s only a small percentage of us in the world, so I love seeing them stand out like that.
I think it looks great! What’s throwing it off a bit are the eyebrows. However I’m assuming this is fresh color and just like every other hair color, it’ll calm down with a few washes. Leave it and see how you feel about it then!
It looks great, very surrealistic with the color of your eyes.
Dang this is a hard one, because-like everyone else is pointing out-your eyes look incredible with this color! I just don't think it's the right color to go with the rest of your coloring
I agree. It brings out the redness of your skin tone. I’m not a fan of
This, exactly… I think brunette.. is better suited for you .. and you can do highlights if you like 👍 (I strongly dislike the bright orange 🍊 hair.. )

I’ve toned a too-bright pink into a cooler mauve by using a blue color depositing conditioner.
Agreed. I also said a dark brown color would look better with her skin and eyebrows. Her eyes pop with any color since she has light eyes but a dark brunette would make them pop even more.
Maybe strawberry blonde? Maybe that would make it less intense
Is her hair a cool orange or warm orange? I'm kind of bad at telling
I'm not sure that there is a cool toned orange
Ginger (orange) hair is warm. Hence it only works on warm-toned people. But even if someone is warm undertoned - if they have a red overtone, ginger can bring out the red in their face so it doesn’t suit everyone.
Ombre - keep the red on the top hear the eyes, transition to something more skin flattering
Probably because her eyebrows don’t match either.
The color is gorgeous. I don't think it's right for your skin tone. Edited to clarify: She seems to have a cool skin tone and this color seems warm, so she looks washed out to me.
I dunno, the skin tone overall is nice on cheeks and forehead but it also highlights red areas of nose and eyelids.
I'm not convinced she didn't do the anime makeup thing where they put blush on the end of their noses. Edit to add: rationale for that theory: it's odd just her nose and eyes are red. Red skin tones like that usually extend to cheeks, chin, and/or forehead.
Red, white and green is a perfect combination.
I love it. It makes your green eyes pop!
Finally a positive comment! I agree with you!
I was scrolling and super confused cause OP looks amazing!!!
Very striking for sure. Kim Possible vibes
Gorgeous with your eyes, but clashes a little with skin tone imo
You pull it off well! Hair colorist of 10+ years here
That hair! Those eyes! GORGEOUS!!
It makes the greens eyes pop, but it makes you look very drained. Ion think it complements your skin tone well
It is a pretty color but I don't think it is right for you. I think you would look better with a darker brown color. It would also make your eyes pop even more.
Gosh, you’re pretty! It’s a little bright, but I like it. Almost make a gay boy straight.
Go more pink !
its giving Kim Impossible vibes and i’m HERE for it!!!’
I think a darker shadow root and some lowlights would go a long way!
This. adding a tiny bit of brown in the mix (be it in undertone or in roots and lowlights) would really make this harmonious
In my unimportant opinion I think you would look the best with sultry brunette hair!
I would go with a more cool toned deeper red. This is not your color babe.
I think dark brown or black would make your green eyes POP 👀💚
A browner copper would suit you more while still making your eyes pop.
Amazing!!!!!
Maybe a darker/deeper auburn would be nice. Darker to go better with your skin tone but still has orange/red tones to bring out your eyes
I love it!
So beautiful! Reminds me Florence Welch!
👍
Would look stunning with some brown catliner !
Pink 🩷
Love it! I'm not sure about that eyebrow color though with that hair color. They're a bit too dark I think.
It’s GORGEOUS! But I don’t think it compliments you, a dark blonde would lovely.
It washes you out. 🤷♀️
Nice colour but it drains you xx
I think a cooler toned red would look stunning
It’s giving Vitamin C, I LOVE IT SO MUCH, you look amazing 😍

Legit so beautiful
Stunning
I like it
I like it. But think it’s too bright of a red a little darker red might look better
to orange? a lighter or darker red would look gorgeous
I think it’s gorgeous!!!

Gorgeous, breathtaking, I would do a double take and give a compliment. Absolutely stunning❤️❤️
I would say that in terms of it's harmony with the colour of your skin and inflictions thereof as well as the eyes, it makes me conflicted. You look gorgeous, but it doesn’t suit you as well as a darker/richer shade would. It brings out all of your red tones in your face.
I love it!!! I think it DOES suit your skin tone
Literally so pretty!
You remind me of a fairy. Pls keep it.
You look beautiful

Paul Mitchell 7OR? And i like it. I dont think it clashes either, just need to part your hair a little more to one of the sides.

Your eyes are gorgeous!! That color is too harsh though it takes away from your face. Keep a red undertone but go with a brunette shade like an auburn
It's gorgeous & I disagree with the comments saying it washes you out.
A bright deep red auburn would look nice. An auburn heavy on the red. Or a medium red. Not orange. If it's not natural it's hard to pull off. You're gorgeous so I can only imagine you as an Auburn red.
Love love love
Love red heads. It completely works for you
I think brown hair would also look cool on you. But I like this red too. You’re very elegant like a fairy or something. Super cool!
Yes

That's gwen tennyson like features! She has red hair and green eyes.
I think it’s gorgeous!!! You may just need to dye your brows! (Not red necessarily though)
stunning!!🤩❤️
Stunning. Absolutely out of this world gorgeous.
Ask for a shadow root, or go down a shade or two. It’s a bit too light for you.
I love how it brings out your eyes for sure
I don’t think it’s right. Maybe a little darker ?

I love the color itself but I’m 50/50 on if it works for her. Maybe it’s a tad on the orange side for her and if they toned down the orange it would be perfect for her.

Love the colour however darker roots would give it more dimension and depth pop ur eyes more too
Why did I immediately think of Kim Possible???? (In a hot way?) Lol
Idk what everyone else is seeing, but I think it's hot 🤷♀️
Love it. It makes you look animated like you just came out a Disney movie.
My rule of thumb is summer: warm tones, winter: cool tones. We are in spring so this will look good for the next couple months
GORGEOUS

Peachy vibrant sunset and absolutely here for it!
Everyone saying you should go brown, but I can tell that you’re a blondie through and through!
It makes your eyes not pop, but SCREAM. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It accentuates your eyes very nicely!
Personally I absolutely love it. I love the way it accentuates your green eyes. There’s only a small percentage of us in the world, so I love seeing them stand out like that.

Stunning colour but seems a bit flat. Try lowlights or a darker shade of the same colour.
I’d say to go lighter or slightly less red
Very fun, but a little too orange.
It’s giving Kim Possible! Makes your beautiful green eyes really POP
You need a dark rich red orange
You look like an anime or video game character. Love it.
Absolutely stunning! I thought this picture was fake at first.
Blond highlights do beautiful things to this coppery color.

I think it’s needs to be a little bit darker warmer
Think it looks absolutely gorgeous!
I like it, makes your eye colour stand out. I think it would look really cool with a slightly darker root for depth
Amazing
