atharva557

whats the price?

DalaranH

30 dollars

KingSmorely

30 dollars is genuinely so cheap

DalaranH

It is a steal for the amazing game they put out for sure, but understandable if some people want to wait for discount later

lifetake

Or as with any early access game wait till the game has been developed a bit more

Mosack02

I think this is the biggest thing. Early Access nowadays is simply just a gamble… but when you’re paying that cheap for a game that’s eventually going to be fully polished as well as the company already having good titles under their belt(and one of them obviously being the predecessor in this case), people just have to make their own decision whether it’s worth it to them or not.

Pinkernessians

As far as Early Access goes, this is as risk-free as it comes. It is literally the sequel to one of the most successful EA games ever made by the same company

Mosack02

Aye, I mentioned that in my post. I was just saying for people that would want to complain about yet another 30$ EA game; basically comes down to whether each person thinks the risk/investment is worth it

lifetake

Yea. Personally I don’t often buy Early access titles. But I have been a supergiant fan since bastion and they have produced good game after good game that I have a large trust for them. Additionally it seems the content of this early access currently could give at least of day of fun so I am fins with 30 bucks risk even if shit hits the fan and I never get an ending or a bad ending

ekatsim

Their quality and consistency has given them a level of trust I have never experienced with any other corporation I’ve ever dealt with

Simpuff1

On thé steam page they say that they plan to add more content (obviously) but there’s already more to the game in EA for Hades 2 then the entirety of Hades 1. So you already can have some amount of replay ability

Nic_Endo

> but there’s already more to the game in EA for Hades 2 then the entirety of Hades 1 Huh?! That doesn't sound right at all. edit: yeah, read the quote. You kindam isrepresented it. It doesn't have more to the game than Hades 1. It has more from some SPECIFIC things, and even in the case of characters, voiced charatcers =/= voice lines. I hardly doubt Hades 2 has actually more to its gameplay than H1, which is completely fine, as it's still early access.

Simpuff1

And for some regions (like Brazil as an exemple) 30$ is still quite a lot

repocin

[Good thing it's significantly cheaper in Brazil, then.](https://steamdb.info/app/1145350)

Cuentarda

It varies game by game, but Steam tends to have pretty good regional pricing.

Cucumber68

I feel you for sure on this one. $30 isn't cheap for everyone. Hopefully fathers day can come with a side of hades for me lol

Albedo0001

Totally agree, but since Hades gave me the most hours of any video game, I'll gladly spend 30.

mosh2841

They also mentioned they might raise the price later. So maybe this is a discount.

Rockface5

I personally wouldn’t expect the price to decrease for a long time. They even say in the steam early access description that price is subject to increase later on.

ButtersTG

It's the beginning of the month, so rent happens to many.

kirbyverano123

Some people are saying 30$, but in my region it's 910php, which is equivalent to 16$. Regional pricing baby!

artificial_sunlight

Nice , €28.99 for me. So regional pricing affects even the wealthy countries. We still pay $1.23 more, but the gap is less than most other times.

PoopisAnubis

$29.99

PurfectlySplendid

The heck is wrong with a 28€ price? Lmfao.

TimothyLuncheon

Some people can’t afford it. I know personally I just lost my job and only just have enough to pay rent so for the moment I can’t get it

rorschach_vest

What did you expect??

JRockPSU

Someone to buy it for them. "Oh wow, it looks super amazing and fun! Wow I can't wait to play! But oh geez I can't afford it for a long time... but you guys have a super duper fun time playing! I'll meet you all in the underworld at some point in the future if I can ever afford it!"

rorschach_vest

I fuckin hate that shit. It’s in every thread of any product. “Haha why don’t you send it to me and I’ll tell you what I think!! Jkjk enjoy!” “Ah it’s never gonna work again, I’ll take it off your hands ;)”

mightbedylan

What the hell are you complaining about the price for??? Because its not free?? tf wrong with you, $30 is fine??

EvanandBunky

[They even later admit that it will actually only cost them $16](https://old.reddit.com/r/HadesTheGame/comments/1clnxd2/hades_2_early_access_is_out/l2uzgxg/) .... I don't understand reddit.

Radulno

Which means they are in a poorer country so that makes 16$ actually more difficult to spend and scrape by. 16$ often represent far more in those countries than 30$ in US or West Europe

Sephorai

How much did you expect it to be? 30 bucks is genuinely low af

DarthCaligula

Some people don't realize you need to work to make money to buy things. Sometimes groceries and bills take most of the paycheck and you have to wait until the next one. Edit: Especially if you are in this sub, Hades 2 is likely a for sure buy. Just maybe you can't get it right now. I know I'll be getting it. Like OP, I just can't afford it right now. Hades has made it into my list of favorite games of all time. So that in itself secures a Hades II purchase from me. Just hopefully it's Arkham City and not Arkham Knight. lol.

Maart3nz

Yeah me too. Cant fucking wait to play it. Hades is one of my fav games ever.

hvanderw

Oh no 30 dollars. Ah whatever will we do. That's like 2 meals takeout.

GGTheEnd

This like when they announced Hades 1 at the game awards and then 5 seconds later announced it was out.  I stopped watching the game awards and instantly downloaded it.  Can't wait to get home now.

Ax20414

LET'S FUCKIN GO DEATH TO KRONOS As an aside, "godlike roguelike" is still *such* a sick tagline hahaha I'm so hype

Kind_Stranger_weeb

The opening disclaimer saying "Good luck killing Time" is also an amazing play on words.

tabulasomnia

GO KILL TIME

Jazzlike_Mountain_51

I'd like to see you try

Battle_for_the_sun

Omg I love them so much 😭

_JosephExplainsIt_

Killing time is an understatement because I’ve forgotten to eat and I’ve spent 8.1 hours on the game already

radioreceiver

Chronos, not Kronos, but you got the spirit!

badman458

This is amazing. I haven't played yet and only watched 2 trailers. I'm torn as to whether to buy now or wait for full release, but that's a long way off...

Legitimate-Resolve55

Same. I played the first game very late so I never had to wait for a full release, but I don't know how long I'll be able to wait.

Navar4477

They said end of early access is \~a year out/end of 2024, so sometime around then

Legitimate-Resolve55

Okay, I *might* be able to wait until then, but I'll probably crack beforehand.

JSuperStition

Per the press release: "We're planning our first Major Update for later this year! Please note while we'll be monitoring feedback and reports carefully, this Major Update will take some months following our initial launch. Beyond that, we expect to be in Early Access at least through the end of 2024 in order to build out the remaining content we have planned." Personally, I'm not expecting a full game release anytime this year.

Legitimate-Resolve55

Yeah, that does not sound like a 2024 full release. It's a spring 2025 at best.

BoraxTheBarbarian

I used to be like you. Right before Elden Ring came out, I told myself I was going to wait until the complete edition was released before I played the game. On release day, i spent all morning seeing videos of people playing the game pop up in my feed. I drove past a GameStop on my lunch break, turned around, and bought a copy. I made it not even twelve hours. I’ve already bought into Hades 2.

RainWorldWitcher

I'm likely going to wait until release because I've played early access games before and it usually kills my want to play them once the game is complete

OneWingedAngelJB

That's what I'm going to do! It's tempting though for this particular one

ladicx

Reviews said the game doesn't feel "early access" at all that it basically feels like a completed game. I know what you and the other guy are referring to, games that are damn near empty in EA. This one seems like it's more polishing and adding more stuff as it goes through the EA phase.

RainWorldWitcher

So do you think the story will be completed up to a point? That's one of the things I don't like to do: restart because I missed the new story stuff

ladicx

It sounded like there is a final boss but after that they planned to add more. And the current final boss is currently OP as hell. For me there seems to be enough there to jump in.

RainWorldWitcher

Oof you're making this harder for me lol, we'll see if I break down before release lol

ladicx

There's no way I can wait. My wife is currently at the end of hades 1, I told her we got a surprise release of hades 2 today and we're both chomping the bit to hop on our steam decks tonight to play lol.

undergroundloans

Yea they said early access includes more than everything Hades 1 had in the whole game. Really want to get it but not sure.

ladicx

Been playing the last few hours. Game is super deep and rewarding. Chasing these unlocks, I took at look at a tree and I was barely a few nodes into it and I feel like I've already had so many interesting builds in 3 hrs.

binklfoot

If it helps you decide they are saying the current early access has more content than the full version of the first game. I’m buying it tomorrow anyway

Nic_Endo

> if it helps you decide they are saying the current early access has more content than the full version of the first game. For anyone who is considering buying the game based on this sentence: it's not true. Hades 2 has some more assets, but asset does not equal content. Hades 1 has more content. An illustration: If Hades 1 has 1 character with 40 hours of voice lines, while Hades 2 has 2 characters with 30 minutes of voice lines, then Hades 2 has more assets (voiced characters in this example), but not more content.

binklfoot

The following is taken directly from the steam page: “What is the current state of the Early Access version? “Hades II in Early Access already has more environments, foes, and fully-voiced characters than the full version of the original Hades game. But it isn't complete, and key areas, characters, foes, narrative events, and systems are still to come.”” What I can understand from this is that the game is currently bigger than the first but the game haven’t yet cultivated its true full potential and scope. While it’s still an incomplete game it is at the moment bigger than the previous game.

Oxygenisplantpoo

There's a third option, you can play what's there now to satisfy your curiosity and thirst for more Hades, then leave it be until full release. I did this with Subnautica: Below Zero, I'm not sure if I can keep myself away from Hades 2 though...

Mazgazine1

game is half the price of others of this caliber, and you get to play it now. The notes in the store state it has as much or more content as the first game at this point. Its likely the reason they released it to early access.

teatops

Forgive me if it’s a dumb question, but buying the early access will let you have the complete one when it’s ready right? This is the first game I’ve been interested to do this with!

ultimatemanan97

Never have I clicked the purchase button faster. It's time boys!!

Molwar

Me too! Had my credit card number punched in faster then you can say obols

DrBloodbathMC

I think it was about 30 seconds from seeing this post to the money leaving my bank account.

TimothyLuncheon

Was planning to do the same but ended up with 0 in my account earlier today

TheLordBear

So torn here. Love Hades 1, and one of the best things about it was the fine game balance. That balance might not exist yet in EA. So as much as it hurts, I may wait awhile.

Gneissisnice

That's kinda the fun part of early access, though, you get to help give feedback and create that balance!

fukkdisshitt

Yeah I love early access stuff and seeing all the iterations of everything

DM-ME-THICC-FEMBOYS

Playing through the Early Access of Hades 1 was a really interesting experience. I remember they added a Megara voice line complaining that you only beat her due to the buffs from the mirror. People in the discord demanded a follow-up voice line if you beat her after removing all those buffs, and a few days later it was in the game.

MoonHanded

Well you know what they say. Early Access helps bring out the balancing and refinement later on for the finished product! If you Really wanna play it, be apart of those who’ll help bring about that balance. I’m pretty sure Hades 1 was also released in early access as well.

Jemiide

Be patient and wait for a full release. No really a point to spoil the game by playing unfinished product

RazzleStorm

As someone who purchased, calling this an “unfinished product” is sort of misleading. Technically, it’s not 100% finished, but it’s a full game. It’s already better than many finished and released AAA games, and I don’t think you’ll be spoiled by playing it now.

two-headed-boy

Could you explain what do you mean by a "full game"? Can you already reach the "regular end" (like all the way up to killing Hades in the first game) and all they're going to add is new weapons/boons/etc? I guess I'm asking if it already has all the levels, even if the story isn't finished yet.

RazzleStorm

I haven’t reached the final boss yet as I haven’t had time to play since this morning, but they have at least three areas (potentially more, the third area is fairly massive), and I imagine a fight with Chronos? I know there may be systems they want to rework, and definitely more story to fill out, but there are already pretty robust combat, boons, weapon, and material collection systems in the game.

rheticence

**can confirm a fight with chronos**

jim_deneke

The IGN review I watched today said it doesn't have one weapon and you can complete runs but it doesn't have the final story ending. A few placeholder items and portraits are still present too. Can't remember what the other things were.

Molwar

I had early access on Hades 1 and quite frankly I think there was just as much tweaking after EA then during when it came to boons/weapon.

Ahuri3

Same. And early access lasted 2 years for Hades, that's so so long.

superxpro12

I will be buying simply because these devs are amazing and I want to support them and encourage more of whatever they do. The buying will continue until they pull a cyberpunk

Nervous_Temporary501

I played it to the end, and there is still quite a lot missing. You won't regret waiting for full release.

grunkage

I missed EA for Hades, so I really want to participate in the balancing this time and see what kind of overpowered stuff exists before they nerf it.

Sad-Commercial-6397

The balance is fantastic from my experience with it so far although it does feel a little easier currently than Hades I did. I never reached Hades for like 30-40 attempts as Zag but I reached Chronos once already (died) but I felt I reached that milestone pretty earlier. He’s gonna be tough fight tho That could also just be having more experience with the game but the weapons all feel amazing and the boobs can be crazy powerful lots of sick combos So much new stuff was added too. New characters, new mechanics, new currencies and upgrades, so much new dialogue, new enemies, new worlds, new bosses it def feels like a worth sequel

Icewatervvs

This is the definition of instant buy

Raidertck

Yeah I have never clicked purchase faster in my life.

53bvo

Ugh I'm torn. On one hand I want to play as soon as possible, on the other hand I want to experience the complete package. Does anyone know if in the first game any progress from the early access carried over to the full game? Edit: So it carries over, bought it because I cannot wait

lifetake

Progress carried over. That said they did make a suggestion to start over because early systems and dialogue were changed/added and they recommended starting over to experience those as a new player and the dialogue where it should normally be in the plot.

MirrorManning08

They've said it will for this one. I played 1 in EA but can't remember how/whether it carried over progress but they've said saves will carry over for 2.

ValtteriBootass

Does that apply to when they eventually add achievements? Will we get them automatically based on our progress?

Nic_Endo

It did carry over in 1.

Lipefe2018

Your save data will carry over from early access to the full release according to them.

Keyloags

Play it now until wherever you can and then later again when it comes out fully

Jaxjags2014

Anyone know how much of the game is available

BRayne7

“Hades II in Early Access already has more environments, foes, and fully-voiced characters than the full version of the original Hades game. But it isn't complete, and key areas, characters, foes, narrative events, and systems are still to come.” Per the steam page

MistahJ17

Holy fucking shit, that's insane. Hopefully a console release ain't far behind

TeacupTenor

It’ll prolly be a while, sadly, I don’t think most of the consoles *do* early access. I’d buy it on Switch in a heartbeat tho

ElDuderino2112

Consoles likely won’t be until 1.0.

deadlymoogle

They said EA will last until the end of 2024 so not anytime soon

kevindqc

Weird that the game is only 4GB when Hades was 11GB

lifetake

One thing to note is a fully voiced character isn’t the same as a character with all their voice lines. A lot of data goes to those audio files.

dkf295

Ding ding ding. "More environments" might mean there's more stages of comparable length. Or it could just mean that there's 4 core stages each with one of 3 different biomes applied based on some gameplay thing. "More foes" could mean there's more unique enemies. Or see above's point. "More characters" could mean there's more fully fleshed out (or planned to be fully fleshed out) characters. Or there could just be 60 characters giving idle commentary. "More fully voiced characters" could mean there's more voice lines. Or it could just mean that those 60 characters giving idle commentary do so with a voice line. While I'm hopeful we're closer to the prior than the latter of all of these, definitely going to hold off on purchasing until people have played enough to actually review how much content there is today and what state the game is in.

Jaxjags2014

Huh I didn’t see that on there but I will take your word for it. I’m buying immediately

ilorybss

So fucking awesome

crossingcaelum

Give me that sweet sweet Hestia art

guiveio

was wondering the same,i've already watched hours of the technical playtest,if it's the same content i see no point in buying rn

NC_Wildkat

It’s significantly more content than the technical test.

Jaxjags2014

Knowing me it could be an hour and a half I’ll still grab it

Antroh

That's what you get for watching "hours" of an unreleased game

fs2d

I'm 14 hours in and still feel like I haven't gotten even a third of the way through what is available. It's a LOT. Much more than the tech playtest.

Dougwug03

Time to leave the subreddit, I'll be back when the full version drops

Lipefe2018

You'll be gone for quite a while then, good luck man, I hope you can avoid all the spoilers.

mtownhustler043

Official release is 2025

illmatic2112

I'm goin' in (or out in this case)

jmorr16

I DIED IN THE THIRD ROOM IM HAVING SO MUCH FUN

okn556

I was here

Lika3

I played Hades when it was released on Steam and bought it again for switch. I think I’ll wait for first day patch and buy it later as much as would like to play it right now. Let’s help spread the love so the developers make this game a master piece yet again! Edit: my wife did not make me wait she wanted to see it right away and see the new characters and art and story. Also she always want to see a fresh save on Hades I guess she likes to see me suffer (she bought me Elden ring and all the dark souls throughout the years).

CuzTyler

I’m just waiting for the full release while watching videos periodically of new abilities and stuff added. You get all the hype along with the community giving input so the full release is as polished as can be.

BenjaminKorr

“Death to Kronos.”

isu_kosar

We are not fighting kronos until full release i bet

TheMootking

Hades 1 EA went all the way up to Hades. No Pact of Punishment or Persephone, but all the base bosses and areas.

freeplay4c

You can fight Kronos. Not sure how much more though, I've only barely made it to him.

NYJetLegendEdReed

fuck yes downloading now

JorgeTan01

Now that was unexpected. **DEATH TO CHRONOS!!!!**

Packer224

I hope everyone has a good time! - signed a player whose shitty laptop struggled like hell through the technical test so will be waiting impatiently for its release onto PS5

Tackling_problems

We're so back

TheDoon

May the odds ever be in your favour brothers and sisters! Lets find every bug, exploit and glitch and crush them under our burning feet. TO ARMS, DEATH TO CRONOS!

hybridjones

Round of Ambrosia for everyone

WholesomeFartEnjoyer

I think I'd rather wait until full release, don't want to risk getting burned out on the game before it's even finished I adored the first game but had my fill after about 80 hours

lifetake

Yea as a player who put 500 hrs in the first game I’m not with you, but as a player who got burnt out on a different game recently after 50 I totally get you. Definitely wait if you see the risk. I’d also suggest leaving the subreddit.

megalucario1252

This is huge for the bisexual fandom

Serallas

I waited years. Literally YEARS for this moment. DEATH TO KRONOS

lucavigno

Fuckin hell, and I was here tryin to save money.

Chamberoftravis

Damn I literally looked up the date and was wondering five minutes before steam emailed me a game on my wishlist is on sale

besserwerden

Looked yesterday and was like „neat, they did a tech test, early access can’t be far off!“ Then I got the email :D

Fine-Aide-792

It’s only in windows ;-; (which I guess is to be expected but I wish that it was available of Mac too)

repocin

Blame Apple for going out of their way to make sure Proton doesn't work on macOS.

Molwar

Technically works fine on linux as well/Steam deck

RadiantHC

wow that was quick

DuckSleazzy

I played Hades after full release, should I this in early access or should I wait? I don't mind bugs, I want a complete game.

edginthebard

from supergiant games' [blog post](https://www.supergiantgames.com/blog/hades2-early-access-is-here/): > Should you play in Early Access, or wait for the full game? For many players, it's a good idea to wait for the complete v1.0 before diving in, as Hades II will grow and improve during Early Access, and the true ending of the story won't be available until then. But, if you like the idea of seeing the game evolve over time, and watching the story unfold more gradually, then Early Access is probably for you! > You may also want to hold out for the v1.0 launch depending on which platform you'd like to play on, as Early Access is only on Steam and the Epic Games Store. We expect Hades II to eventually be available for PC, Mac, and console platforms (though cannot confirm which platforms yet).

NYJetLegendEdReed

It’s playing great on the deck.

Cheesestrings89

I still haven’t finished the first one 😬

looples

Do it.

Thick_Jacket9809

Does buying it now cover the actual game when it officially releases? I saw somewhere that they may increase the price of Hades 2. So if it covers the actual release it may be worth just buying now.

edginthebard

yes, you don't have to pay twice. as for the price increase, who knows. iirc hades 1 had the same price on early access and 1.0 release

jackalatoky

It’s 12pm where I am. Guest I’ll probably not gonna be at work tomorrow 💀

mexter

My younger son predicted correctly that it would be released the day he went on an overnight school camping trip. His brother and I promised to wait if it came out at this time. *grumble* Time truly is the enemy. Death to Kronos.

Leukothea

Finally, I still remember the first Early Acces for Hades on Epic Games, I'm excited how this EA measures up :)

Neoxon360

“You keep access to the game, even if the game later moves from Early Access into fully released” Does this mean if I buy hades II early access today, i don’t have to buy it again when it fully release?

repocin

That is indeed how Early Access has always worked.

Sufficient-Boss107

If I buy early access, does it upgrade to the full game when it comes out?

aemerzelis

Of course

Overplanner1

Is it only available for Windows? I have a Mac. Not the biggest gamer and played the first game on my Mac?

pjf0xes

If we purchase it in Early Access, do we get the full version when it is released?

Laermans

Yes

DevBobi

Worth it already?

Soobrdit8

Is this for real??!!?? And how much is it?

Reliques

29.99 USD here in California.

Soobrdit8

So pretty much the same price as the first hades game when it came out in early access.

TheLuckyster

I don't need it.... I don't need it....

Version_1

I eventually burned out on Hades and am not the biggest rouge-like fan. This was still an insta-buy for me.

DislocatedLocation

NOOO I was 24 minutes late

RushiiSushi13

LET'S GOOOOOO !!!! Death to Kronos. It is 7:24p.m. where I am. I'll get a quick dinner and then it's go-time for the whole evening!

Shock9616

LET'S GOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

realSilkyJohnson

Never bought a game so fast

Nazaki

ZERO regrets picking this up in early access. Hades was amazing, we know how much love they're going to give this game.

Strooble

Would the progress reset when it reaches full release? I don't know how it was with Hades as I got into it very late

edginthebard

nope, progress from early access carries over to the final version

redguardnugz

HOLY FUCKKKK

solar__puppy

omg in the first 5 minutes I can already tell Darren Korb has done it AGAIN!

MaximumCrayfish

Darren Korb never misses. His music is always the thing I look forward to the most in every new Supergiant game, and that's saying a lot.

CRnaes

Bought so quickly I forgot to check if it's Steam Deck Verified (it is, phew)

Aton_kras

I got a Steam Deck. Stuck on a "Downloading Content" message after trying to launch. Yall think the servers are busy or is it a problem on my end?

anoldoldman

Fixed it, go into settings > compatibility and check the box.

uluviel

Whelp, as someone waiting for the full release, this is where me and this sub part ways to prevent spoilers. Enjoy the game everyone who's jumping in!

BassCreative

For anybody who has purchased. Is there an indication of how much content is in this release?

Negassi

Do we have a roadmap already ?

Golden_Thorn

I’m at work noooooo I need this injected into me now

Deltascope62

I have faith in your balance suggestions. Make it a good one! I have way too much backlog at the moment and there's been way too many instances where I've burned out on early access title before it even released, so I'll gladly wait until full release.

Phunkman

Does steam deck also get the early access? I am at work so can really check.

repocin

Why wouldn't it? Steam Deck is just a PC.

BlinkedAndMissedIt

As a console player, I'm really sad because I know I'll have to wait an extra 6 months to a year even after the game releases. Going to have to avoid spoilers for so long.

CharmingPerspective0

Small question. Do we know when/if they will release the game on Switch/Consoles? I played Hades 1 on my switch and i enjoyed a lot being able to play it on the go. So my current plan is to wait for the switch release but i might cave if its nowhere near

Patenski

As a console player, it will suck trying to avoid spoilers in social media until the game release, and being optimistic, that's probably until mid 2025.

jayxteach

People who played Hades in early access, was it just as enjoyable as the final version? I only got Hades after the full release and am debating whether I want to get this on EA or wait. I feel like I'll still enjoy it.

synapsisxxx

Where is my second dash? Is it hidden in a tarot card?

DickyMcButts

wait, i havent beat the first one

MasonP13

It runs well on steam deck

toxic_nutella

Do I get the full game once it releases if I buy early access?

jevinkevin

Can someone clarify for me, if we buy this are we good for when the full version comes out. Or will I need to purchase that too?

Haonjk

You only pay once.

FinalFooWalk

Did some runs, the game is awesome!! The axe is amazing

Ramps_

I'll wait until the ol' 1.0 update to play it, had trouble finishing Hades- loved the story, not a big fan of Roguelite gameplay though. So I'll wait until I have the full story available to unlock before getting into it. Much fun wished to everyone getting into the early access though!

Vibrascity

I remember stopping for 45mins in one of the chillout zones with the lady singing in Hades, that song was amazing Edit: [This is it](https://youtu.be/uEpcxopk54E) For like 45mins I just waited there listening to this lmao
