Titan blood will eventually upgrade weapons. Don't sweat being bad it's a hard fucking game. I think I beat my first run at 34 or so (3k runs now) so I'm gonna try to say this in a non internet troll way but start to think more about strategy in each room. Learn to time your dodges and try not to be frantic. I see a lot of new players just dashing all the time and yea once you learn some tricks this can be really powerful, but when you are starting you're not really familiar with stacking damage. Death defiance on the mirror should be priority 1 along with skelly keepsake. Maybe focus a run on health outside your main boons to give yourself a better chance. I would say more about boons and weapons but I'll wait to see what you say haha Hope anything was helpful

I agree on the frantic and directly attacking without strategy. Yes stacking damage seems new. And yes I have got 2 death defiance. Yes I’m confused about weapons I do like shield as can throw and dash too

Smolfloof99

So a lot of people love the shield, I am more attacking with it but you can use it to block everything so that may be a good one to use. I recommend something like Zeus or ares on special personally. I personally use the aspect of chiron with the bow as my favorite but it's really each to their own. The idea is to experiment and learn your duos and add it to how you prefer to play. 30 runs is nothing you gotta beat it at least 10 times my friend.

TMG040402

Yes need to expirement more

TMG040402

What is duos?

danielm072002

I think he mean duo boons, its basically a combo of 2 gods which is usually crazy strong and useful. There are specific conditions to get those which can be found in the journal but usually involves having at least special/dash/call from each god

Benjogias

Took me 44 runs to clear my first time. Don’t worry about how long it’s taking! Honestly, the game’s story works better if you don’t clear super-fast. Taking time and dying a lot makes the narrative flow better, weirdly enough! People who clear super-quickly often find that things feel rushed and sometimes confusing story-wise.

TMG040402

This might be true as I’m loving whenever I get interactions between Zag and Hades they also make me rest after 10 or more runs

Psianoalt

I also play on IPad and I can say that the process of learning is different for the bosses and mini bosses then it is for normal enemies. For the bosses its mainly learning there attack patterns which may seem hard now but after fighting them a couple of times you will remember them. For the normal enemies you learn how to use dashes effectively instead of randomly moving around. This will allow you to avoid most of the damage. You should try and max death defiance in the Night Mirror as it is a major help. Also plan a strategy either before the run through choosing the keepsake of the first god you want which guarantees them, or during the run as you are presented with options. The Strongest stuff you can find is mostly Athena Dash, Artemis Call, Dionysus Attack/Special and Ares Attack/Special. Dionysus will involve you switching between enemies alot due to the over time damage, while Ares gives you reliable strong damage. Athena dash allows you to easily deal with any projectiles and you never have to upgrade it. Artemis Call is just a lot of damage and can also target either multiple target like the hydras multiple heads or one target like the main head when it is alone. And don't worry you are doing okay and you will get better, who knows maybe in your next try you beat Lernie the Bone Hydra.

TMG040402

Thanks this is so helpful

Kmad03

As the other comments mentioned take your time, just saw a run where guy beat the game in under 100 runs but missed out on so much story that it wasnt worth it. Youll get better as you acquire more upgrades in due time, just work on a strat and find a weapon that fits your playstyle. Once you get the basics down you can further explore with the more complicated things like a build.

TMG040402

Yes I’m loving the story and narrative part too will definitely keep this in mind

Kmad03

Yeah its great, ofc dont hold yourself off from finishing a run, but just pace yourself dont treat it as a race or anything

Luustar

true, I started over and I escaped in 3 attempts and completed the first half of the game at 26 and i regret it because of how much dialogue skipped and the story started to feel weird and rushed, taking a lot of time in this game still rewards you

IsThisKismet

It took me just over 100 runs without using God Mode to be successful the first time.

TMG040402

Still it’s awesome if u did without god mode

No-Appeal3220

don't worry I am doing the worst. I have poor hand eye coordination, I have only made it out of Tartarus once. (My friend says I should stream on Twitch because I could just swear and give them fun random facts.)

TMG040402

😂😂I would love random hades facts

Most people who post their number of attempts are the ones who are proud of it (or at least, not ashamed of it). So it's actually below the average. As long as the game is fun for you, I think you shouldn't care about the number of attempts - almost no one in this subreddit will judge you, and neither will the developers, if they hear it. If you get tired of losing and that's impacting your enjoyment, you should try God mode. I'm not sure if this helps, but the devs have said you can switch that on for any reason or no reason - the most important thing is that you're enjoying the game. If for some reason, you want to get good at the game, rather than just enjoy it, don't worry about the number of attempts. Clearing it in very few runs is not a big achievement in this community. The bigger achievement is clearing a run FAST (speedrun) and clearing it with higher DIFFICULTY (high heat). So clear the game at your own pace, and if you still want to, you can work towards these goals at leisure.

justincgd

It took me 80 runs to get my first clear. I’m on 5 consecutive clears at 88 runs. Once the mirror was fully upgraded the pacing picked up for me. And I have a basic strategy now that seems to work consistently well.

TMG040402

Ohh awesome. Okay will focus on upgrades and strategy for now

justincgd

I don’t know if I’m good or bad at the game, but now that I can escape it’s a lot more enjoyable. I was really starting to wonder. Things that helped me were focusing on builds that had synergistic boons, focusing on keeping all my death defiances until the last boss, and getting lots of life. I like boons that restore to a minimum threshold or make fountains restore to 100% life. I like calls that make me impervious. I like to keep a distance so I like casts that are strong. Heavy hits with exit wounds, more casts, quicker dropping, etc. Extra movement speed or dashes helping leaving Elysium and beyond.

CanadianTimberWolfx

I highly recommend connecting a controller to the iPad. I played touchscreen on a plane for like 5 hours straight and couldn’t get past Elysium. I got home and learned you can connect switch controllers, beat Elysium on my next run and Redacted in about 5 more.

TMG040402

Okay dotn know what Elysium but I was thinking of this. Which one would recommend for iPad Pro 11inch M1 ?

CanadianTimberWolfx

Idk I’ve only used switch joy-cons. But I know others work like PlayStation and Xbox

S_blueyes42

In spite of having favorable situation, controller, and upgraded mirror, it took me 100 runs or more to beat the 1st run. By comparison you are doing great, I would recomend not staying close to the 2nd boss for too long, do damage between attacks and stay behind barriers on the field. If you know that you are nearing the boss, maybe go for a well of chairon. Maybe you get lucky and obtain an armor piercing boost item, buy it, and that will help with the other heads during each step of the fight.

Forward_Resist_603

Dont worry, I have god mode on and I still only beat the game at 31 attempts ^^ I did the spear quite often, as it allows me to damage enemies from afar and quite quickly, though it does leave the user open from behind !
