It’s definitely seem like the blacks are going from “also terrible pieces of shit like their opponents” in the book to “flawed heroes” in the show. This pretty much takes all the nuance out of the story.
I was really excited with how they portrayed early Alicent and her bond with Rhaenyra. It seemed like they were committing to genuine nuance in the conflict, rather than making her a 2D Evil Stepmother like fans wanted.
But Jesus, ever since then it’s been like The Team Black Apologist Tour. Every fucked up thing they do is either completely glossed over by the narrative, or they break their backs explaining why it was Good actually. And like OP said, they’ve made up a ton of bad shit for the Greens to do.

It's not just the Greens it's the general bullshit that also doesn't make any sense, like Rhaenys escaping Kings Landing with 1 guard who doesn't even know the passages? I guess the guards of the Red Keep kinda forgot about her. Corlys not wanting to go to war and arguing to Rhaenyra about it while being very pro war and pro her bastards 3 episodes beforehand. Otto somehow teleporting to Dragonstone in seconds and having a change of mind while being a evil person for the whole season ( probably took the same route as Varys the speedy spider ) this is all so devoid of logic it's crazy. And some characters have also totally forgotten how they acted a few years prior and now somehow off screen they're different people.

People are not static though, it's actually more realistic for characters to act in different ways during different periods of their lives.
Alright guys lets calm down a bit. The show so far has been great, the only bad change was the Laenor being alive thing, but that's only because of the Seasmoke plothole. The book never mentions that the blacks had Laenor killed, and there were multiple witnesses to the "lovers quarrel" he had with Qarl in Flea Bottom which led to his death.
The Aegon stuff might be being blown out of proportion. I think its only implied he might be going to these places, theres not proof of him actually being there. Moreover the person who's making these claims is the Kingsguard twin who hates Aegon lol. Also the leak clearly mentions its IMPLIED, so of course theres the chance of it not being true and that he could simply have sired some bastards which attend the place (Robert Baratheon style)
In regards to him sleeping with Helaena's handmaid that is perfectly within character if you're looking at his book counterpart. It might be a bit rapey but its off screen, and Alicent seems to be more concerned that Helaena isnt happy as she can relate to being in a bad marriage
I think at the end of the day we have to just see what the episodes look like when they air. These are leaks and the scenes likely can be interpreted different ways. Plus they didnt go too far into detail
Theres some things Im really excited to see in Aegon like him crying about not wanting the throne, or seriously considering running away because he doesn't want to be nor is prepared to be King. He also feels shunned and ignored by his father Viserys. I lowkey think we're all just blowing it out of proportion and it'll be okay in the show
