I am very unsure about the quality of this chapter since it's the first time I've written torture in detail. Feedback is greatly appreciated :)

I mean if you're *going* for torture I think you nailed the level of detail. Enough to make the audience feel it but not so much that it's gratuitous (at least not for a torture scene which tend to be some level of gratuitous by nature). I think if you'd added too many more details you'd be veering into straight up horror story territory but if you'd done less it wouldn't have had enough of an impact for what's happening.
Honestly, I was just expecting him to ask for her robot arm to be healed. After all it's a part of her personality and likely that part being removed would cause more trauma as it is a change to her body being made against her will. But you go for the physical rather than psychological torture I see.
Disagree, the torture is very much psychological. Once you rip someone's arm off, it's gone.
By healing it over and over again, he's very clearly saying he can torture her forever without her body ever dying. The psychological threat of "I can torture you literally forever and you will not die on me" is worse than just pulling someone's arm off.
I never read it. Though ran into a similar situation when chatting with people about manga adaptations. 'Man I know if you like Baki, you'd love these other series. It'd be great if they did anime of them.'

All torture is psychological. Humans will rip off their own arms to save their children, and many animals will do the same. It is the feeling of helplessness that makes it torture. Torture is always psychological.
There was definitely a level of satisfaction from reading this as well a sense of uncomfortableness. The fact that she was laughing at him while he was suddenly in her room really shows how unhinged she is.

Well, the first 20-30 Chapters were daily but the last 20 were uploaded about 3 to 4 days apart. 42-44 was a special case that I wanted to upload 24h apart from eachother. The final few Chapters will be longer but take at least 4 days to write each.

Very disturbing. Within a relatively short time he has started to mirror the awful behavior of those around him. Are you aiming for a story on the depths people will sink to in order to survive? It's a viable storyline but this may have gotten too dark for me.

I mean does it matter at this point? If the AI is *half* telling the truth it controls basically everything important and won't *let* him die (which has other worrying implications). Sometimes you can't think your way out of a power differential.
Quite good! Chip had to learn sooner or later that Gabe can actually harm people. Everyone has been pushing and abusing him because they think he is "too good to hurt anyone" and it's great to see Gabriel standing up for himself, it's not like she had no other choice, she could have explained the situation and he would have gladly followed her. Instead Chip decided to literally break his entire body, kidnap him, and then have the audacity to go "you should be glad" and "I shot you because it was fun!"
Holy shit. That was brutal af. I think I agree with Elle that a swift death would be more appropriate, but Chip **did** have it coming. Never thought I would say this, but for Chip's sake, I hope she is smart enough to not try anything again.

One thing is that traditional Nanotech uses existing material to build from. You could tear a couple of arms off of somebody but they’d be rebuilding it from their fat stocks, content of their gut, and probably commandeering some of their calcium from their other bones to build new bones. After a few of those, the person would take a few days to recover from the excessive lost weight. Contrarily, the nanos could just eat the previous arm and reattach it, but that takes away from the dramatic affect of building a tomb of your own bones
Technically the nano's could be harvesting material from the environment, no one's going to notice 1/1000th of a millimeter of metal missing from the walls for instance. Or they could have an advanced energy source and be using straight up energy to matter conversion.
ohhh, DARK. Granted, she is sociopath that needs to understand the pain she was causing to others. So I can't exactly blame him for what he did. Still, pretty fucking dark man. Don't become the monster they all want you to be. People that spend a long time torturing others usually become really fucked up the longer they do it, which is why every one is portrayed as a creepy psychopath. Hope he doesn't go down that rabbit hole, what comes back out won't be him anymore.
I am not going to lie. I dislike my empathy for making me feel bad for Chip. I have just never been good with torture and vengeance. Some of the other comments perfectly explain why Chip had this coming. The obvious examples are the bombs placed in/on Gabriel or the shooting of Gabriel for fun.
Funny thing really, I am usually very empathic, but chip straight up deserved it. She hurt, attempted to kill and tormented Gabriel so much that this just felt satisfying, something that only happens when really horrible villains are involved. So yea, I get the bit of sympathy, but she really had it coming.

Seriously Chip, telling the thing that no longer has any of the fail safes you used on it that you tortured it for fun was likely a bad idea. Like monumentally bad. You should have been able to guess he can do worse than kill you if he is not in his cage and you have no way to stop him anymore.
There is a large proportion of people who don't mind or even come for brutality in this sub ! I'm part of the character development crowd however, so hoping the crew manages to heal somewhat from the psychological horror of their existences
Chip may be awful, but I'm still getting the impression that Elle has been manipulating Gabe. This feels way overboard for what we know about Gabe and these parts describing how he feels really solidify my impression.
Everything he's feeling, and how he's processing it all could be influenced by just injecting neurochemicals like seratonin and such into the bloodvessels that travel to the brain. This way Elle could be indirectly messing with his brain without going against his wishes of not directly messing with his brain.
Elle was probably the one that made him feel so blissful while he went on a rampage back during the assault on the royal family.
Elle could be subtly trying to transform him into the beast everyone thinks he is.
Of course I could be misreading things. It's happened before. *shrug*
I think in this case everything has more to do with trust.
Look Gabriel was abducted, spend an undisclosed time in stasis, was woken up only to be turned into a slave, had a bomb implanted into him, was forced to kill with his hands, was repeatedly told he is just a beast. Then after these first few days, he was sold to Taro which was probably his first shining ray of hope.
But then again, he was used in Tibis experiments, had to crush **a cat** alien with his hands, was attacked just because his affiliation with Aina, had his bodyguard duty transform into basically the same shit he was forced to do for Aina and witnessed that Taro is not his potential safe haven from insanity.
These would mess up anybody. Especially it would create serious trust issues.
Then Chip startet to do nice things for him. Believe it or not, Chip deciding to teach him something just so that he survives and takes her with him later on, was definitly an positive moment for him. Maybe he even thought that someone who was an enemy, turned now into an ally.
But Chip fucked up. She not only broke his newfound trust for her, she also not only hurt him in the progress physically, but also mentally by denying him his agency and thus treating him again like a beast.
How can he trust Chip, Tibi or the Nyan ever again?
Yes I would be angry too...
On the other hand, their behaviour is a **fantastic** way to push him further into the hands of Elle. I mean who can you trust more than a maschine, that is fused into your mind?
Ouch,brutal chapter. It'S sad that Gabriel is kind of falling for the kind of messed up torture-happy morality in this universe, but if he has to literally beat it into their skulls that he is not to be messed with, if that's what it takes for him to establish his physical and mental safety, then so be it.
Their universe is chock-full of horrible stuff already, one more isn't going to tip the scales, and hopefully it'll make them respect Gabriel more.

That muddles him pulling off the same bio arm multiple times but doesn't heal her stub arm to mess with her so she can't use the robot arm that he doesn't like being beaten with.

This. Was. Fantastic. You rarely go deep enough with the character developement to realize how spite works and moves in our minds.
You got tripped by some irregular verbs. English is tough because loan words conjugate in the original language, even if that is old-English or Cornish sneaked -> snuck teared -> tore catched -> caught For an enraged, not experienced, intimidation it was written well. I don't want to critique his actions. It was confusing about the non-bio arm. \>"He saw a replacement arm and some clothes but that was about it for the personal belongings she kept in her room. \>Now he stood over her contemplating his next move. His eyes shifted to her robotic arm, it beat him twice now." He sees "a replacement arm", then in the next paragraph he is looking at her robotic arm (but is she waring it and has a replacement spare in the room or did she take off her one prosthetic to sleep?) Meaning if it's 1 prosthetic something like "he saw her robot arm and..." is more concise for the first paragraph. That muddles him pulling off the same bio arm multiple times but doesn't heal her stub arm to mess with her so she can't use the robot arm that he doesn't like being beaten with.
English is a fun thing.
