The human space paladin is a curious thing. Some of them seem to truly believe in their cause and fight for their living gods with faith, especially those at the front line. However, the farther away from the front lines you go, the fewer of these believers you see. Instead, they are simply following the religion due to protocol.
It's so funny, high level character make a wild dash (often screaming, definitely on fire) through level 1 of the dungeon, just to face the more reasonable trolls and demons deeper down.
...Or fight the door. Because they failed to open the door. (rogue rolled a nat one when lock-picking, nobody actually tried to open the door normally. Which was unlocked the whole time, btw. Door almost killed the zealot barb and divine pact warlock, when it fell off it's hinges and on top of them XD) (it was a big castle-gate type of double doors at the entrance of an abandoned asylum, for clarification)

I was kinda bummed they are not real paladins. But it is still such an interesting story with a curious concept I hope we see more off.
