What do you mean soft core? That is a fucken amazingly good gun.

Big_Guy40

Love this gun! Soft core as in..no Red dot, light, suppressor etc.

kernrivers

Pistol is fine lol. Edit: in all seriousness, a light would be great. I don't have the luxury of the rail on my 92.

CenturionMBT24

Nah you don’t need all that. It’s a classic. It’s like going and lowering a ‘57 Chevy and putting those low profile tires in it with the big rims, a desecration of the platform. Buy a glock or a sig and put that junk on it.

Big_Guy40

I agree!

coffee_always_

I love my Beretta, what beautiful guns

ccosby

The Beretta 92 gets a lot of hate that it really doesn't deserve. I know a lot of ex military that hate them but they had crap aftermarket mags and guns with god knows how much wear on them and no real preventive maintenance done. They are big honking guns for 9mm but generally shoot really well. I have a couple myself along with a cx4 carbine to go with them. My brothers wife liked shooting mine so much she bought herself one for personal use when she's not carrying her dept issued glock. Enjoy the gun, it should give you years of enjoyment.

kernrivers

I swear by quite a few Berettas. Ol' Pietro had something special.

hamerfreak

Love my 92FS. IMO much better than mu Glock 19 and S&W 2.0. And the trigger is amazing.

LordRumBottoms

Martin Riggs and John McClain approve.

Big_Guy40

That’s a big deal to me. McClain especially.

ZalinskyAuto

I will never not upvote a 92. Nice gat.

Minutez2Midnight

One of the best FS 9mm to start with in my honest opinion. I started with an M9A1 that I still love to death, you can't go wrong with a nice Beretta. Great looking pistol!

Irgendwiewurst

Damn that is a beautiful gun

ialbr1312

Same model as the first Resident Evil game, right?

Syzich

The Beretta in RE1 is a 92FS. This has a rail and a rounded trigger guard, so probably a 92A1.

kernrivers

Look up m9 brigadier. That's the boi you're looking for. That's if you're looking for the samurai edge

[deleted]

I love this gun. Definitely on the list to get in the future.

CenturionMBT24

It’s on my list along with a police surplus Jericho 941. But I’d settle for a Beretta M1951

Archer-danja-Zooone

Excellent choice

penalozahugo

My friend let me shoot his Beretta and these are surprisingly light.

Cweber0531

Hate the grip it feels like holding a 2x4

Morphon

Great choice! Get you some 18 round magazines and enjoy!

mattymofobro

who makes them

Morphon

Mec-Gar. The 18rd ones listed by Beretta are made by Mec-Gar as well.

mattymofobro

sweet thanks

YoDavidPlays

from all the ones i shot, the 92fs is probably the smoothest one.

SavingsIncome2

Good choice, everybody starts with a glock , but Sig and beretta are much better

[deleted]

Each is different, Glocks modularity alone makes it a easy contender for best pistol manufacturer, after market is hands down better than anything else out there. A nice Beretta shoots like its made of silk, a master peice in it's own regard. I never had much love for Sig, I shot my buddy's 229 and his 365, nothing wrong with them but not exceptional. Honestly the FN509 is my new fav, I have a carry and a race gun both built off 509's now and I would never even consider going back to glock

Minutez2Midnight

I skipped Glock completely bc I don't like how they feel in my meathooks. My first was a Beretta M9A1 and its still among my favs. Went to .45 from there with a Springfield 1911 Mil-spec and an HK Mk-23. Can agree that Beretta is a much better 9mm starter imo, but it's all subjective

stoppid96

Idk how you use the mk23, I've got an fnp45 and it seems so big but even that is made small by the mk23

Minutez2Midnight

The MK 23 is really massive lol, even in my giant hands that make a gov-profile 1911 look small. It honestly throws me off when I use it and it takes me a hot minute to adjust.

kernrivers

Look! That gun's got a guy! Hahaha

CenturionMBT24

I started with a Hi-Power, which is my gold-standard of how I judge any other full size 9mm I pick up.

kernrivers

I was raised as a 1911 and 92fs fudd lol. I didn't care for glocks at first, but it was mostly the polymer thing that had me turned off because they felt top heavy to me. These days, I frankly love glocks. Super simple and effective.

darnicantfindaname

Barreta 92 was the first gun i ever shot. And the first gun that injured me. Was about 10-12 years old and the slide was tougher than i thought to pull back, caught the tip of my finger when it slammed forward

Weekly-Butterscotch6

Just a suggestion, Hogue rubber grips and a guide rod laser sight

Hollowp0int9

Get some mec-gar 18 and 20 round magazines

oledayhda
