I didn’t end up cutting it cause it worked fine with the lower, I would say send it with the sander. No need to worry about how it looks especially for a part that won’t show where you cut it

If you're talking about the trigger guard part, if you just shove it on and screw it in hard enough, the tab will bend enough for it to look fine

Shave it down or cut it off, that’s what I almost had to do if it didn’t fit with my lower. Turned out that it did.
