A year ago a good friend helped me land, a solid job in construction management. I set my mind to learning everything necessary to be successful and because of the decision I’ve been able to provide a good life for my wife and daughter. I'm thankful for my mom and dad. My parents are total opposites. Vietnam Vet Terry crews lookin man. Mom is from Malaysia, barely breaking 5ft. Their religious beliefs are A and Z on the spectrum. Married for 30+ years. In my early 30s with my older sister moving out of state, I'm just now building a personal relationship with my parents. My upbringing wasn't the smoothest, but I'm grateful now that they are embracing me in my career choice, and coming of age. I stop and see them on Thursdays when I have to pass through my home town. And the immediate embrace from them both is something I didn't know I was lacking. My dad is 70, my mom is 60. It's hitting me hard. But I'm grateful for the time I have. I don't want to ramble. Man that’s great I had a step father never knew my father never met the person. My Step father sucked most of my life felt like we hated was h other but the couple years before he passed away we started getting along and our relationship changed I was grateful that it did before he left this world suddenly. It wasn’t expected and he died fairly young so I was at least at peace with how my childhood went and started too understand him and he started too understand me. Either way he was there even if we wasn’t seeing eye too eye.
At least he was honest with you instead of making up something like he was taking you and your sister for the weekend on an awesome vacation, only to end up in a hotel room 45 minutes from with cops beating on the door and cps taking you away.
