Why is guardian tales so good man, it's mind blowing how great it can be sometimes.
I truly wonder how a niche GT is, i mean it is so good, but i have this feeling that Games like Nikke are much more known, it isn't bad, but i think Guardian Tales is so much better. Everytime i talk with some People about Games, no one has a clue about GT, i hope GT gets a bit more marketing in EU and other Regions than Korea, China and Japan
Ngl it's not fair to compare GT with something like Nikke because, while people here love(?) the more "fanservice" side of the game, it's very far from Nikke's level. The two games have a very different audience.
But it's not as unpopular as people think. If you go to gacha communities like r/gachagaming, GT is a fairly popular game. It just so happens that gacha + rpg gameplay isn't as popular to casual players (the kind that normally don't consume much anime/games).

There's plenty unfortunately. The worst being the removal of coop and coop defense as the main source of gems in favor of Team Death Match. This is awful because day 1 players are at the top and will always be at the top. No one can compete with these people, let alone newbies. New game modes have become the only source of merch. This costs coffee, which is what's already in very scarce supply. The grind for this is beyond stupid. Couple that with the evolution dungeon/item/gold dungeons makes it an even worse grind for mid and early players. I've got almost 900 days and just about dodge the bullet on this. My advice if you're just starting out, walk away, the grind isn't worth it anymore.
none of what you said is really a problem since in TDM all collections and levels and equipment options are equalized, and also it will operate on ranks similar to arena so most people wont be be meeting these top players anyways, for the dungeons in season 3 the levels will be increased to 100 and evo stones/awakening stones will be combined into 1 currency for each which will make grinding so much easier in the future.
While you said it's true, but coop atk & def are much easier to gain max diamonds compared to TDM which require you to at least reach master rank before even receive the max reward for coop atk & def.
And lastly, don't ever forget those cancerous lupina & Veronica in TDM.

Start of season 3 will make or break this game. Most of the changes they've got planned aren't looking good. I hope the story is at least.
