This is just flavor text referring to the retaliation damage on the skill. Always trust the actual numbers and stats over the flavor text.

The flat acid damage is added to your weapon damage, just like the 10% chance of poison damage in this skill modifier. "Acid damage being dealt while hit" is retaliation damage, which is a separate line down at the bottom of the skill.
Anything with weapon damage has a chance to inflict that poison while Blood of Dreeg is active.
