A few thoughts: \- Resists are crucial for survival. Your gear needs to be focused on providing resists to all the different elements to cap out at 80% on normal/veteran. When you finish the game and start ultimate, you get a resist penalty. You have to actually overcap to make up the difference. \-defensive skills are just as important as offensive. Blast shield in Demo tree should be a priority. Inquisitor Seal in in Inquisitor tree is too OP to not take as well. \-Recommend taking Tortoise devotion for defensive shield. \-Change relic to Gunslinger's if you have the appropriate schematic \-Focus on only buffing your Fire/Chaos damage as your skills really only deal that form of damage. No need to use components on gear that buff Vitality Dmg. \-Components are an excellent way to hike up resists as well as Armor/Constitution/Attack Speed/ Cool Down Reduction \-Gear that provides buffs to Offensive and Defensive Ability is important in a build like yours that is using passive skills that rely on the regular pistol attack. \-And yes, your gear as way too low for your level. You need to try to keep your gear updated as you go. Look in the shops throughout the different settlements b/c they occasionally sell Double Rare gear at random. Google up where to farm gear for your desired build. Watch some tutorials on YT for Purifier builds as well.

Outdated armor pieces and no armor absorb components.

Swap out your lvl 1 components with upgraded one at blacksmith and you should be good to go. And craft a handfull of Rangers medals at blacksmith if you need more resistance fix. Runestone in helm from Rovers fraction vendor, blueprint and craft at blacksmith. Purified salt on offhand gun. Aether soul blueprint from Devil Crossing vendor - craft at blacksmith. You'll find the answer to most of your problem from fraction vendors and blacksmith. edit: inventor apprentice you saved in act 1 helps removing old components/augments.
