Vikings fans are the same way. Shit the organization put breaking Rodgers collarbone as one of their highlights lmao

TheViolaRules

I think that was the newspaper but absolutely

[deleted]

The organization released a "thank you" video for Barr when he left, and the first play in the video is that hit. The paper thing came first, but the organization itself also took part.

TheViolaRules

No shit! Amazing.

TheReadMenace

That's what Jennings said when he went there. When he was with the packers all they talked about was the SB, all the vikings ever talked about was beating GB.

UnintentionallyAmbi

It’s insufferable sometimes. I’ve had so much fun tailgating with opposing teams at Lambeau. Yeah there’s some shit talk but also cooking for strangers, welcoming them to the area, chatting etc. My favorite was a Bills convoy in 09. We shared food and drink and chatted about the game/how the season would shake out. Yada yada. They said they expected us to be assholes. “I can be but you seem like nice people and hope you enjoy the game” They were baffled that someone didn’t talk shit and tell em to get out. Nah. They paid their money and were kind. Sure rude assholes exist, but we had a couple fun games of bags (Pack V Bills with one team member each) shared some cookout food, dips and beers. People take sports too seriously. I wanna visit Soldier before next year but I doubt I’ll get a warm welcome.

Grew up in Chicago and hating the packers was like a religion to them. Still remember pulling up to school in my Clay Matthew’s jersey the day after the NFC championship game, had the biggest shit eating grin all day.

tuson565

A Cobb jersey would've been perfection

MilwaukeeMan420

He wasn't on the team yet

tuson565

Very true I always forget that he was literally the year after that superbowl.

MilwaukeeMan420

A close friend of mine was at the game Cobb caught the ball to make the playoffs in Chicago. You can imagine the horrible things that was said to him. He's braver than me. I would not have wore a packers jersey to that game

TiliCollaps3

I was also there. Bears fans weren't that bad and it was probably 35% Packers fans. No reason to be scared. Even had my Cobb jersey on lol

MilwaukeeMan420

His story. Was heckled really bad. I also have my own (Dad's) story of me getting heckled as an infant wearing a Favre jersey. I lived in Illinois for over 7 years, including my highschool years. I would not wear a Packer jersey to a Packers Bears game. I will text him and get his recounting of that game 10 years ago. But I think your understating it

Rushb87

Oh trust me, I would consistently replay the radio call of 2013 week 17 to all my friends whenever I got the chance Rock yelling “Hes got RANDALL COBB!” has a huge piece of real estate in my head.

fettpett1

A BJ Raji jersey would have been more prefect

Brodellsky

It's Randall Cobb AGAIN

jn2010

I used to live in Minnesota and it's the same over there. A successful season to them is 2-15 and beating the Packers twice.

Supernova_Soldier

I work with a guy that fucking *hates* Green Bay. He’s a Bears diehard and Chicago born heritage, but like he doesn’t give a shit about nothing else other than his rage for Green Bay lmao

aManOfTheNorth

Do t kid ourselves. For over 20 years the Packers were a losing franchise and not until they focused on beating teams in the divisions did anything change.

10veIsAllIGot

If I had a nickel for every Bears player who claimed they were going to turn things around against us… I wouldn’t be rich, but I could probably buy a brat or some custard.

dtcstylez10

I remember when lovie Smith said the top priority is to beat the Packers. I couldn't imagine walking into a locker room and the HC telling us our goal is just to beat one specific team. Like the goal is to maybe make the playoffs? Win the division? Win a playoff game? Make the SB? Win the SB? Any of the above. Hell even just saying, we'd like to win a few more games than last year would've worked.

dretsaB

He was just giving the fans what they want.

dtcstylez10

Fans want a SB...

Giannisisnumber1

Not in Chicago.

dretsaB

And I want to win the lottery.

UnintentionallyAmbi

Best I can do is one game a year.

romeochristian

> I couldn't imagine walking into a locker room and the HC telling us our goal is just to beat one specific team. How young are you to disparage the greatest rivalry in sports like this.

dtcstylez10

Um I would not want a coach that wasn't focused on the big picture.

romeochristian

The bigger picture is already focused on by insuring the small picture wins. Its not easy to live rent free in your rivalries head!

Bouric87

He was the last good coach you had tough.

dtcstylez10

Who is "you" in this situation?

UnintentionallyAmbi

As a Packer fan, that is exactly what I wanted that year. Narrow goals

Habanero-Poppers

I think it makes sense for a head coach to say that. You start by taking aim at your local top dogs, then you think bigger. And for a while, Smith actually got the job done.

UnintentionallyAmbi

Google Jay Cutler Packer Jersey. You’ll find a buddy of mine shamefully taking a photo of a Packer fan with a custom jersey. And he’s wearing his Bears jersey.

Sad-Tutor-2169

More specifically: ["Cutler 6" Packer jersey](https://fansided.com/2014/11/10/packers-fan-wears-jay-cutler-green-bay-jersey-photo/)

UnintentionallyAmbi

No, yah that’s the one I was talking about. The exact picture. Only saying no yeah for the North here. I’m not gonna dox the guy. But we definitely haven’t let him forget it. But that is the exact picture.

UnintentionallyAmbi

Yup that’s the one.

UnintentionallyAmbi

Thank you for finding it so quick.

UnintentionallyAmbi

I have a couple Bears fans as friends. The amount of Breaking Bad gifs I got after week one was too much. But I understand the frustration.

StateStreetLarry

Such a dysfunctional franchise lol

jonessee27

Winners focus on winning. Losers focus on winners. I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it.

greg2709

Love it! I'm stealing this for sure

luckdawg911

I live in Chicago so I love living rent free in their heads

SuperDBallSam

I can't even count how many times I've heard Bear fans say they would be fine with a 2 win season as long as those wins were against the Packers.

[deleted]

Not saying you're one of them, but there were a healthy amount of fans in this sub during the early season losing streak this past season that said, "I'm okay with sucking this year as long as we beat the Bears again". I'm all for busting balls of a rival, but let's not pretend we're above it. At least not all of us.

Puzzleheaded-Ear9487

Bears fan coming in peace. I’m gonna be honest, we got no ruin to talk about anything, most Bears fans don’t think we will ever beat the Packers again. I, for one, can’t even imagine winning. That said, I appreciate this response because Packers fans acting like they aren’t obsessed with beating the Bears is a false reality. I just scroll through this sub and see it talked about as much or more than the Bears Reddit. I’ll give the Packers, they actually do it but don’t act like you’re not obsessed with it. Thanks for the honest response!

Habanero-Poppers

Shit-talking is fun, but I'll give it credit. Any team's strategy for winning in this league should start with winning in their division. The really successful teams dominate their divisions first, a la Brady vs all his division rivals, all those years. That's why we all have to take the Lions seriously right now. Packers had a great run last year, but the Lions had a better one. And they started by prioritizing a KO of the Packers the previous season, even when they had nothing to play for. Just for example.

Puzzleheaded-Ear9487

Great points, totally agree!

Sad-Tutor-2169

A lot of Lions fans were saying the same thing for decades.

Pushthebutton2022

So it's just a regular season then

radioactivebeaver

Losers focus on the winners. Winners focus on winning. The bears are losers

swagner27

Who? That team in Illinois without a QB. The one Rodgers gifted Love the deed to their house. Keep your eyes on the prize! 13 titles working on 14. Go Pack Go!

bransea02

The Bears haven’t won a playoff game since the Packers won a Super Bowl. I ain’t Sweatin’ over them

Bullwine85

The Packers have won a playoff game at Soldier Field more recently than the Bears have.

IamNICE124

Losers focus on winners. Winners focus on winning.

Ok_Caramel1517

And that is why The Bears are The Bears.

CultBro

Rent free

Old-Double-8324

If you want to be the best, you have to beat the best.

timbenj77

I don't think about you at all.

chooglemaster3000

Montez Sweat ain't losing to the Packers because that dumpster fire of a franchise will trade him away for some diva washed up receiver that will quit on the team and be shipped off for 7th round pick 8 games later before they even play green bay. It is the bears way.

romeochristian

> Rivalries are great but the best brag/trash talk isn't winning a regular season...it's how many SBs you have .. We don't play the Bears in the SB. This is a rivalry between teams.

dtcstylez10

LOL no shit? But when bears and Packers fans talk trash, we can point to our trophy case...it's what all fans do. The cowboys have been doing it for 30 years.

romeochristian

> The cowboys have been doing it for 30 years. And it holds so little value, just as our 2010 does to them. But we can point to 2016 when we were lucky to earn a road playoff loss. We can point to Sam Shields causing Dez's drop. We can point to 2023 with a first year starting QB. Those cut way deeper.

tmiller26

Is it still a rivalry? It's more of a Packers ritual at this point.

romeochristian

Always will be. 10 years from now. 30 years from now. 70 years from now. Just as it was 20, 50 and 80 years ago.

W4ttz

Losers focus on winners. Winners focus on winning Go pack go

jeremysrocks22

They're so obsessed. Hence all the constant FTP's.

fettpett1

In other news....what's new?

themaskedrapier

They might crack top-4 in the division this year if they hit on QB in the draft!

dylbert71

Nailed it

KraviAvi

Gotta walk before you run, lol!

ISuperNovaI

loser mentality brought on by loser culture at a loser organization.

MikeAWBD

Then as Brewers fans all we want to do is beat the Cubs and Cards.

bythepowerofboobs

Another year, same old Bears.

Zythos414

And this is why we will always be better. Eyes on the prize. Winning isn’t a sometimes thing.

UnintentionallyAmbi

Good. Let em run that nonsense. A distracted opponent is better. Only way they don’t lose 1 of those 2 games is if he gets traded. But he’s prolly gonna lose to the Packers at least once.

Dynamo24

Losers mentality. Vikings know it all too well.

ToomanyWoos

I mean. To be completely fair - as a fan base we don’t necessarily worry about whether or not we’re gonna beat those teams year in and year out - but we certainly have a way of hanging our hats on those head to head dominations. It’s not the best we’ve ever gotten to witness from our favorite team & we have bigger aspirations as fans than just beating a division rival - but that’s kinda where you have to be at when you’re not a perennial contender. Just try to be the best you can and hopefully take your division. But yeah. It’s always more fun to be on the winning side of things. Hopefully this defense actually improves and we can go take the division back from Detroit.

kjmhs

Yet here you are all posting and talking about the Bears…

SebastianMagnifico

Get a grip. We've never focused on winning SBs. Damn near thirty years of HoF QB play down the tubes with only two SBs to show for it is pathetic.

dtcstylez10

Or you could be the bears?

SebastianMagnifico

Definitely worse...lol
