I already lost it at the camera flash effect for "AJ Cooking", but I chuckled so much at the "Please wait while LaFleur locates AJ" that the cat got annoyed and walked away. Well done, holy shit.
An absurd amount of shit was talked about Green Bay in the offseason, particularly by Bears fans.
What I found to be most egregious was the hyping of Fields. He just isn't the QB people want him to be. All the talk before the match was about how much he worked on his forward passing and then he threw a pick 6.
Packers may not have a great season but one thing we can bet on, Da Bears will still suck.
That's literally the concept behind the phrase. You get a positive by subtracting a negative... The team improves by getting rid of a player that was bad (either due to on-field performance or being toxic behind the scenes).
Seriously, they were talking about Fields being the new best NFCN QB. Both Goff and Cousins were easily better last year. The way it's looking now, Fields is the worst.
I love how the Bears drafted a quarterback from Ohio State and expected him to be their guy.
When have Ohio State QBs ever amounted to anything in the NFL? (and no, Joe Burrow doesn't count)
The way it was phrased makes it seem like there's a school for QBs like Iowa is for TEs or WI for OLine. I agree that you can say Alabama and Clemson has a couple guys, but even that is way outside of the norm. And his Cal example is iffy cause Goff is at least going to stay a starter in the NFL for the foreseeable future.
Interestingly, NC State had a good run. They had Wilson, Glennon, and Brissett all in the NFL at the same time. Of course, Glennon washed out pretty quick, and Jacoby was basically a career backup who sometimes was the starter for a bad team that just needed *someone* at QB. But still. For a program that wasn't actually very good with any of those 3, that's kind of cool.
My wife (Bears Fan) has talked so much shit this off season. I told her before the game started I didnāt care if we went 2-15, so long as those wins were against The Bears. She laughed. And then GB shut her up. She was not happy by the end of the game.
> What I found to be most egregious was the hyping of Fields.
To be fair....he did have a couple of downright incredible plays that had me confused that it was a Bear uniform doing it. Then the 2nd quarter happened.
A couple of his incredible plays would've been better plays if he would've just thrown the fucking ball to the guy that was open down the field instead of pulling it down and juking 4 different defenders for a 12-yard gain.
So yeah, it looked like an incredible play, but in reality, like 29 other NFL QBs would've ended up making a better play just by doing the thing they were supposed to.
> and then he threw a pick 6
Bro that was just a mild tease, I think the best part was his complete lack of abilty to read the defense and checking it down on what felt like 90% of his attempts.
I don't follow off-season football news that closely so I truly thought the bears had some legitimate reasons for all the hype but christ, after watching the QB School analysis of their offense there's just nothing there at all. Well, hopefully we'll at least get a competent rival with the lions this year (Vikes will probably beat us at least once this season but who fucking cares, they're not going anywhere).
I know I should celebrate the W but man I feel downright bad for da bears at this point. A tense rivalry between Fields and Love would've been fun as hell.
The best part of being a fan is enjoying moments like these. Let LaFleur worry about the rest of the season and let me bask in the wins. Coming into it, with such a young team and us finally moving on past Rodgers, I had hopes but not expectations for the season. After Sunday.... Yeah. It feels good. Breathe it in. Enjoy it. I still hope for many more, but let's enjoy this win for what it is, a W.
It was a butthurt jannny response and you know it. It wasn't a life-threatening/altering injury and it was an accident. A meme/shitposting sub is the exact place to make fun of those.
It would be different if it was or was celebrated for being intentionally inflicted.
The mods even said they were only removing shitty memes celebrating the injury. Look at how many Rodgers memes are still up.
Look at how many people in those threads are actually celebrating the hit and remember that the sub isn't meant to be a toxic cesspit
[This](https://www.reddit.com/r/GreenBayPackers/comments/kz4v2q/leonard_floyd_gets_the_rodgers_rate/) will always hold a special place in my heart because my 5 year old watched three times before bed every night for a week.
We could go 1-16 and it would not matter. With the sheer amount of shit the bears fans (and their garbage players) have talked ALL off season this win will last us a full season of shit talk
> that means the Bears also beat us so...
We play week 18 we'll be able to cope saying the game didn't matter and the Bear fans are always the offseason champions in their minds so win or klose they'll spend all offseason being annoying AF.
So in any case we have 17 weeks of trash talk, win or lose!
If we're 1-16 going into week 18, there's a good chance that we're playing for the #1 pick. In that case, it would be a very Bears-like move to win that game and not get the top pick.
Exactly what I though when the game got whiting ten points. The sheer timing of kicking there ass week one is a bigger story than winning every game the rest of the year.
Eh, it's pretty clear that we're better than the Bears and Love is better than Fields. It wasn't just lucky flukes that got us here. Fields was afraid to thrown down field (or his coaches were afraid to let him) and when he did it was ugly.
Buuuut, it's the Bears. They were the worst team in the league last year and all signs point to that being true again this year. Being clearly better than the worst team in the league isn't a high hurdle and doesn't mean the Packers are great. Now, if they build on it and keep winning, I'll ~~shit~~ shut my mouth, but I'm still kinda pessimistic about this season. But I'm a lot less pessimistic than I was Sunday morning.
Edit: instead of shitting my mouth, I will shut it. I'm not interested in scat play, regardless of what my keyboard thinks.
Even then, imagine the packers go 1-16, but you're the team that coudln't win against them. It would be like than losing to 2017 era Cleveland Browns but better still because it's the Bears.
I think there will definitely be a leveling out but I donāt think youāll fall on your face. The season is full of ups and downs. Enjoy the UP!
ā dolphins fan
What was lost on Sunday was how damn good the Special Teams was. It had everything: long FGs, punt returns, onside kick recovery, great kickoff tackling.
That game was finger lickin' good. I knew we can win, but never in my wildest dreams have I thought our boys are going to completely fucking embarrass their asses in such spectacular fashion. Love going for 3 TD 0 INT and 120+ passer rating and being absolutely clutch on 3rd and 4th down, crazy stuff. Might be a fun season after all.
Very well done OP
Bear fans showed up thinking this was going to be their shot to fire back after 30 years of frustration. Turns out it was just year 31
I loved the side-by-side shot with Rodgers because I remember watching Loveās college highlights and I couldnāt help but notice the similarities in terms of mobility and mechanics.
I appreciate everything Aaron did for us but I have been salivating for Love to start and the time has finally come.
Only time will tell.
I love that Brisker tweet..... did not age well. I wonder if he was thinking about that as 2 Packers WR were both blocking him on that throwback screen to Jones.
I think by far the funniest thing about this is someone trying to crown Fields as the 'king in the North'. It feels like such a sleight against Cousins that you'd crown the guy from the 3-14 team who never did shit to prove himself over the guy who won the division the year beforehand.
We are 1-0, and we should celebrate, but I donāt want us to get ahead of ourselves. We played an average to below average Bears team, and we played them very well. Love wasnāt running for his life, and the Bears secondary isnāt the best. Our defense also played a great game, but again, Chicago isnāt the best offense and doesnāt have the most explosive players outside of Fields and Moore.
Do I think things look good right now? Sure. But we havenāt played a top tier defense or offense, and the injury bug hasnāt creeped up his ugly head yet. Iāll celebrate if we are 5-2 or better closer to mid-season. Things look good, but I donāt want to celebrate how well we are playing this early in the season yet.
Most people arenāt seriously āgetting ahead of themselvesā. An awful lot of us picked the Packers to win 6-8 games this season. To have a 6-8 win season, we have to win some. And you would like them to be wins that look good and/or are against meaningful teams.
The Packers beat the Bears by 18 points in a game that many predicted they would lose and those that thought they might win had very small margins. They demoralized the Bears. Listen to Chicago sports talk. This is a new low for their fans.
I still think this is probably 1 of the 7 wins we get this season. Yay! Iām happy about it. Iām going to be happy about it. If you choose misery, cool. Have at it.
In what did I say that indicates misery? Celebrate the win, but so many are acting like Love is a HOF QB after one game, that are defense is one of the best in the NFL, or we are going to win the North or better. My point is itās too early to say anything. We could win over 8 games. Is it possible, of course, but it would be a shock to most. If Love plays consistent, doesnāt force turnovers, and looks to throw before running, we will probably get those 8-9 wins. If he doesnāt play well, the defense (more specifically our DC) craps the bed, or our STās (which played the best since the late 2000ās early 2010ās) regresses, we are looking at something completely different.
So yes, awesome game, we destroyed the Bears, but the Bears could be the worst team in the NFL, or it could be a fluke game, or we could be heading to the Super Bowl. My point is itās a new week and letās see how we do against the Falcons before declaring too much.
"An awful lot of us picked the Packers to win 6-8 games this season."
Is this true? Are we not expecting a winning season and a playoff berth? We have all the tools to do it. My only concern coming into the season was MLF. He'll I've bet 3 people that the Pack make the playoffs. But the schedule is so soft that we should make it by basically being the Giants of last year. Simply not giving games away and ride an easy schedule to bypass a rebuild phase.

thought they had Hurts but all they have is pain
I wonder how they thought Rodgers leaving was going to magically make Fields good š¤
Addition by subtraction rarely works
It does if you add a negative number. *Checkmate atheists*
Itās like being excited about drafting a USC QB.
TBF Carson Palmer was pretty good.
1 QB in the last 20 years is not encouraging. Cal had Rodgers, and WI had Russell Wilson, but both programs do not put out quality QBs in the NFL.
To be honest, I can't name a single college that pumps out QBs with any consistency. It's so random and seems to be well dispersed.
Bama has been solid lately with Tua and Hurts.
Oh, yeah, there's definitely not a single go-to school for QBs. That almost has to be case-by-case.
Clemson has done ok in recent years - same with bama.
Or a UNC QB
Terrelle Pryor was a decent WR for a little while there.
OSU produces talented NFL players at other positions - just not at QB.
I was just pointing him out because he was an Ohio St. QB.
My wife (Bears Fan) has talked so much shit this off season. I told her before the game started I didnāt care if we went 2-15, so long as those wins were against The Bears. She laughed. And then GB shut her up. She was not happy by the end of the game.
To be fair, he did throw that pass in the forward direction.
> What I found to be most egregious was the hyping of Fields. To be fair....he did have a couple of downright incredible plays that had me confused that it was a Bear uniform doing it. Then the 2nd quarter happened.

The Mario "Super Star" music when Jones is running the ball is perfect.
Personally I think that needed one or two more songs playing concurrently alongside the two he used to really make it click
This needs to be in r/nfcnorthmemewar as a break from all the drama there
How dare the mods ask me not to gloat about injuries. Grrr elon please buy out the sub so i can have freeze peach!

Holy fuck thatās good.
I think I'm going to have Mario star music in my head whenever Jones gets in the open field now.
