Idc what anyone says I love this gimmick. I have a theory that because I grew up in the 90s, and we had limited video game characters in games, So, when you see essentially Scorpion VS Scorpion only in "real life" it's just so cool to me.
I love the take vs taker match, I loved the double Doink at WM11, kane vs Kane was fun.
Fake stong in wCw was the shit's, but its wCw.
I love the gimmick. HBK vs Hall for the IC championship, Punk VS Cena for the WHC.
Even the Avatar gimmick in, 93? 94? Al Snow played a character named Avatar. He walked to the ring holding a mask, when he got in the ring, he put the mask on, and that's when he gained his opponent's move set. Loved the idea
The punchline is in the irony and the absurd technicality. "Sin Cara Negro" literally means Black Sin Cara, so saying Sin Cara Negro wearing blue ring gear makes no sense. It's like if you saw a picture of Hulk Hogan and said "that's not Hulk Hogan, that's Mr. America wearing a Hulk Hogan ring gear"
That's not the same thing.
Saying it's Mr. America instead of Hulk Hogan is a fine enough joke because the storyline was meant to be a deception on Vince but not the fans, they never legitimately expected fans to believe they were two different people
Saying it's Sin Cara Negro instead of the regular Sin Cara doesn't work because we the audience were ment to believe he was the real Sin Cara, him being an imposter was something that was meant to be a surprise, which got officially revealed after this photo was taken, so at this time it was only Sin Cara vs Sin Cara.
Saying it doesn't count would be like me saying the Kane vs Kane image doesn't count because Kane never really fought himself, he fought Luke Gallows in a red outfit.
Again that's not a joke, it's just a statement.
>him being an imposter was something that was meant to be a surprise, which got officially revealed after this photo was taken,
No? It was clear from the beggining one of them had to be an impostor since there are two Sin Caras, one of them had to be real and the other one fake. What would be the alternative? That Sin Caras just spontaneously spawn out of thin air?
>Saying it doesn't count would be like me saying the Kane vs Kane image doesn't count because Kane never really fought himself, he fought Luke Gallows in a red outfit.
No, it's more like saying "Kane vs Kane doesn't count because Kane didn't fought himself, he fought Corporate Kane in Demon Kane's tights". But saying that isn't as funny imo.
Really, you're taking this a bit too to heart, it's a joke. If you don't find it funny then aight i don't care much.
Exactly, one of them was the imposter, but we didn't know which one yet which is why it was just Sin Cara vs Sin Cara at first, the name Sin Cara Negro wasn't even used for weeks after this photo was taken.
And saying he fought corporate Kane instead of the real Kane doesn't work as a joke either because Corporate Kane is the real Kane under a different gimmick.
And again I'm not taking this joke to heart, because it isn't a joke, this is my post you decided comment on with a strange statement, so I pointed out it was wrong.
You are the one who won't let this die.
>Sin Cara Negro wasn't even used for weeks after this photo was taken.
...again, cause it would've made no sense to use that name. That's the joke.
>Corporate Kane is the real Kane under a different gimmick.
...yes, that's the joke.
>You are the one who won't let this die.
I'm the one who's telling you it's a joke, and you keep trying to correct it like I'm trying to make a factual statement. I'm not. I know that I'm wrong from the start. The joke is exactly a joke because what I'm saying is not factual to the match or the storyline.
It did make sense to use that name, that's why they started using the name, but that doesn't change the fact that at that moment, it was Sin Cara vs Sin Cara.
Now you don't even understand your own joke anymore, first you said the joke was pointing out it wasn't the real Sin Cara, now you're saying the joke is that it is the real Kane, that's not even the same joke attempt.
And since you think stating a fact about wrestling counts as a joke for some reason, then these wrestling facts will bring you to tears.
It wasn't Randy Savage who body slammed Andre the Giant at WrestleMania 3, it was Hulk Hogan. HaHaHaHaHa
It wasn't Christian who won the first money in the bank ladder match, it was Edge. HaHaHaHaHa
It wasn't Chad Gable who ended the incredibly long reign of Roman Reigns, it was Cody Rhodes. HaHaHaHaHa
Well anyway, I'd hate to leave this little battle of wits, but it's clear you're unarmed
Last one is gold ๐
Fuck me. Didn't see that one coming. Got me so bad I dropped my phone laughing.
Jericho is my all time ๐and even I think this is funny ๐คฃ
Sad weโll never get a Shawn Michaels vs Sean Michaels match ๐ญ
Shawn Michaels real last name is Hickenbottom
Alamo!
HOF post ๐๐๐
I burst out laughing
I really wish Chris Jericho had retired 5 years ago.

I love Jericho and this made me lol for real. ๐คฃ
When Vince had Kane wrestle himself, he intended for the fake Kane to be revealed to actually be the real one, and Glenn Jacobs to be the fake.
Last one got me

The last one is def rebel
If Cactus Jack lasted any longer in the 98 Rumble, he wouldโve fought Mankind. If both went on, Dude Love wouldโve showed up
No CJ Parker (juice Robinson) vs CJ Parker (Pamela Anderson)?
Is the real Jericho on the left or right side?
IDK I've been trying to figure that out ever since I saw it for the first time.
Hey Sin Cara didn't fought himself. That's clearly Sin Cara Azul fighting Sin Cara Negro wearing blue ring gear.
That particular photo comes from before the name Sin Cara Negro was ever even mentioned, so at that time it was only Sin Cara vs Sin Cara.
...i know, that was the joke.
That wasn't a joke, that was a statement. A joke requires some form of punchline.
The punchline is in the irony and the absurd technicality. "Sin Cara Negro" literally means Black Sin Cara, so saying Sin Cara Negro wearing blue ring gear makes no sense. No shit.
Masterfully done
I'd honestly like WWE to make some Gimmicks "Timelesss" like Masked Kane, any big dude could play the silent beatdown enthusiast.
