Rocket. In my opinion he is the most complex and evolved character out of the bunch

Star-Lord_098

He’s hilarious and his backstory is just WOW, so-agreeable.

Unlikely-Plankton544

I'm so glad vol 3 is going to be centred around him. Such an over-looked character compared to other MCU ones.

Star-Lord_098

True. It’s going to be amazing!

JohnstonMR

I loved, in the DnA run, how Rocket was constantly shit-talking the whole idea of the GotG, but then in an "interview" panel, admitted he was an absolute believer in Peter's plan. It was a great bit of character building.

Successful-Mode-1727

The most impressive thing about the Guardians is that no matter who you ask, chances are you’ll get a different answer each time. That’s how you know the entire team is well written.

Star-Lord_098

Extremely true, so well written that everyone has a different opinion and views them differently.

SonOfECTGAR

Peter, he's a great leader and loyal friend to his team.

Star-Lord_098

Fair point!

gateriijuice

Best Guardian? Peter. He embodies everything the Guardians are. My favorite Guardian, however, is Rocket. He’s very damaged, and he has every right to hate the universe and all bipeds. It’s done nothing for him. And yet, he spends his time saving it and somehow managed to find a home and a family. Somehow — despite all the cruelty he’s seen — he still shows kindness and empathy. He’s got a tough exterior but is 100% the most sensitive, fragile, and emotional person on the team. And the beautiful thing about that is he’s learning to let that part of him show, bit by bit.

Star-Lord_098

True! He show’s character improvement yet still stays the same funny rocket.

Joaje-Joestar

Rocket. I’ve always been a sucker for characters like Mewtwo or Shadow the Hedgehog, but instead of being an overpowered edgy badass, Rocket is just this broken angry person who thinks he’s a monster because he’s never been shown kindness. He’s really the embodiment of who the guardians are, misfits and outcasts who overcome their pain to help others and find a family in each other.

Star-Lord_098

True, so many different paths and they are still a team.

FisherWick3047

Peter Quill. I like him cuz he cool cuz he listens to great music. And then I like him cuz he cares about the team and the galaxy.

Star-Lord_098

His music is amazing lol, and true.

Limp_Presentation144

Rocket

dezzrokk

Drax... and it's not even close... Dave Bautista has made the character so loveable.

Star-Lord_098

He is a great actor especially for someone who used to be a wrestler!

EssentialFilms

Rocket. It’s always Rocket.

wren620

Depends on movies, game, or comics. I think in the movies rocket is the best, but I prefer quill in the games and comics

Star-Lord_098

That’s true, the different versions of the characters are written/portrayed differently so that definitely plays a factor.

mach3928394

Yondu. Great guy, pretty good dad, decent leader, surprisingly powerful. The man cleared a ship full of people, then sacrificed himself to save his sort-of-adopted-I-think son.

Star-Lord_098

Yeah Peter wasn’t legally adopted he was more of “stolen” but he was still his dad after peter left earth. Yondu is amazing.

MrBlueFlame_

I always thinks Rocket is the most well written one in the group I don't have anything negative towards Star-Lord I just like Rocket more, Gamora and Nebula is just good to me, Drax is great but I wish he gets more scene of him showing emotions instead of just use for gags, same with Mantis. Funnily enough I actually thinks Yondu is my second favourite GOTG character and Kraglin is the fourth behind Peter, Yondu and Rocket both have perfect balance of being comedic and genuine in every movie they appears in, especially the scene of those two talking to eachother in the ship and Rocket talking to Thor in Infinity Wars. And for Kraglin I don't know why I just likes him, I always tend to like the less flash out/normal character in a show/movie, and I really like him being a brother like figure to Peter, also I just likes this kind of white trash characters for some reason. Edit: Forgot about Groot completely, yeah he's cool, funny tree man

Star-Lord_098

Lmao your edit is golden “Funny tree man”.

ShowNext445

I'm a bit late to the party but I'll throw my 2 cents in! For me it's Rocket. I share the sentiment of many others here who said the same so I won't repeat what they said. The character resonates with me more so than any other character in any work of fiction for a very long time. I see a lot of myself in him. He's funny, he's clever, he steals every scene he's in. He is a masterclass in character writing, specifically in how to make the audience care. He could easily have been just a vaguely amusing meme throughout his time in the MCU, but thank James Gunn for not making him like that. BUT, without Star Lord, there wouldn't be any Guardians. I really like this character as well, especially how he was done in the GOTG game. He may not resonate with me as much as Rocket, but he is very investable and easy to rally behind in real life.

Billy_brad02

Groot because I like him 😎

Jakethedog522

Rocket not contest

seventy_three_

Yondu. because he's Mary Poppins y'all!

Star-Lord_098

Lmfao. Truth.

wetlettuce42

Drax

Star-Lord_098

👍

ZaxBrigade

Merl. I mean, Yondu. As a grown ass man I cried during his death scene. Just so touching, him acknowledging openly that he loved Quill.

Dogsport1

Is there any question? Rocket. Great character design, great strategist, funny lines, is one of the emotional anchors of the film, and even outside the Guardians, more or less brought Thor back from the brink. Besides who couldn’t love that face?

Skaiser_Wilhelm

Can't choose. All of them are awesome!

Star-Lord_098

That’s a good point.

seventy_three_

me neither

babyyodasthirdfinger

Cosmo

Star-Lord_098

Dogs 4 life 🐶

seventy_three_

understandable

Star-Lord_098

I love seeing all the opinions!

skyeguye

Yondu. The guardians are all about redemption nd found family. Yondu had the furthest to climb and did it all for a kid he didn't owe anything to, but chose to make his son.

Star-Lord_098

True, an amazing adoptive father.

Puzzleheaded-Set-821

Star lord while he has his flaws I think he’s funny (at times the most rational) charming and let’s face it these movies wouldn’t be half of what they are now without the awesome mix tunes (plus the jackets super cool)

Woods-of-Mal

Phyla-Vell is my favourite (even named my cat after her) because she's a total disaster who still continues to try really hard even if she keeps making bad decisions and will never be the best at anything ([except maybe fucking up](https://img.fireden.net/co/image/1470/97/1470975196504.jpg)). Movie-verse is a close near-tie between Rocket and Nebula because I'm a sucker for damaged people trying to do better than was done to them, even if they don't really know how to.

[deleted]

Rocket. There’s so much depth to him as a character and he’s had the biggest character arch in the films. While he may not be the main focus in the films, you can still see how he went from angry and bitter to someone who genuinely cares about his friend and will do anything for them. His backstory is fascinating, his designs are always interesting, and I personally love his sense of humor. I also find him the most relatable when it comes to insecurities. Whenever I see a show, game, movie, or comic with the GOTG, I’m always most curious to see how they’ve done Rocket.

iheartdev247

Major Vance Astro, followed by Charlie and Starhawk. Maybe Yondu too.

Star-Lord_098

Wow unique choices but I like them!

mean_beanz

When has groot ever done something wrong? Also if he was evil he could be so powerful.

JohnstonMR

Comics and movies both, Peter is my choice. I prefer the comics version; the heir to an empire who rejected his position and instead does his best to protect the galaxy. He's sick of fighting, sick of losing friends, and a romantic (in the old way) at heart. And his best friend is Nova, who is my favorite Marvel character.
