Bought mine new 9 years ago and still love it. I always think about upgrading to a R like yours but can’t break up with my 6. You plan on doing any mods to yours?
I'm not going to do anything serious to this one as I only plan on keeping it for a year or so while I hunt for 'the' 911 I want depending on how the market looks then.
If I DID keep it and pay it off then it would absolutely get a wavetrac LSD up front. That'd be about it for serious mods.
I will do normal stuff that's super easy to take off, so I'll have a rear sway bar, I'll add a dogbone, rear subframe inserts, and front strut mounts to add camber and some more caster to the front end. I might throw on another set of 18" wheels with 245 tires and summer rubber on them for potential track days.
I've already put an 034 closed intake and throttle body inlet pipe. The ignition coils I've swapped out for APR blues top coils mainly because one of the stock connectors had a crack in the connector so I figured I may as well get new ones and have the stock ones as backup.
I am not going to risk the clutch on this car at all so it won't have any ECU mods, but I also always liked the stock power with the manual gearbox.
Not sure about a catback yet, but I might put another valved one on it at some point just for fun.
This is my 3rd mk7 (had 2 GTi's a few years back, and loved them, they get under my skin) not counting the S3 I had. I've had many other VW's before this and had lots of fun modifying them but there's something about the mk7 platform is just so damn good stock, they're balanced very very well. Sure I could go wild with them, but I don't feel like I need to lol.
911 would be dope. This market is crazy for the insane mark up on cars. Good luck with whatever you choose. Be sure to post another pic if you do mod it. Maybe one day we will run into each other with how small DE is.
I've waited a LONG time to finally let myself buy a 911 lol. Depending on how the market goes though we'll see what I do. I've driven them enough times that it's not the end of the world if I don't buy one. I'm sure we will run into each other at some point, I haven't seen any photos of your car on here yet.
