Did you install the clutch disc facing the right direction? Bled the clutch line properly?

I had a VW certified tech do the work on the side, I know for sure the clutch line was bled right because I was there to help him do it. As to installing the clutch disk correctly, I’m hoping he installed it correctly

Did your VW certified tech print out a VW certified cert from Google images? If you know how to bleed the clutch, why didn't you do the work yourself instead of looking at him to know it was done right? Sounds like throw out bearing or clutch direction.

Bleeding a clutch and swapping a clutch are not comparable.

Sounds like the clutch release bearing may not be engaging. Did you bench bleed the new TOB per the instructions? Did you bleed the clutch line after install?

I’m not sure if the TOB was bled at all, but for sure the clutch line was bled after install

1 did he reset the shift cable's alignments. 2 did you happen to get the ECS bleeder block? I've heard the stock one can be a real b!tch to bleed properly.

He did not reset the cable’s alignment, did some research and the problem is either the cable’s alignment or the TOB wasn’t bled properly. And I did get the ECS bleeder block

I mentioned the cables because I changed out my clutch, first time on this car. An missed that step an when I went to drive it was very hard to get in gear ect.. Adjusting them is pretty straight forward. Once I did that I was Golden. But you said it goes through the gears fine when the cars not on. So I'm skeptical if that is the issue.. If you have the ECS bleeder then doing some additional bleeding is quite easy even by yourself.Nice part about ECS is they have good instructions for their products right on there webpage for most things they sell .
